Injuries of cyclists from the perspective of prehospital emergency care
KRBOVÁ, Petra
The popularity of everyday, both leisure and racing cycling, increases. The spectrum of accidents and injuries related to cycling extends with the increasing choice of bicycles for different types of cycling. Especially in summer months paramedics repeatedly provide prehospital emergency care to cyclists. A wide range of injuries require different intensity of treatment and care. The theoretical part is focused on a brief characteristics and descriptions of selected injuries, which are part of the research. The research was carried out by the quantitative form, by means of a questionnaire. It was distributed to paramedics in the South-Bohemian Region and in the Vysočina Region. The objective of the thesis was to assess and map the approach of paramedics to an injured cyclist, the correctness of provided care for selected injuries that are mentioned in the theoretical part from the perspective of prehospital emergency care and the evaluation of the need to pay more attention to this issue or to retain the current provided care and update only the new information and findings. The result of the research is the confirmation of all the research hypotheses. The questions testing knowledge of definitions of polytrauma and injuries were mostly answered correctly. The research questions focused on treatment and subsequent transport were also answered mostly correctly. Even though the research results were good and hypotheses were proved, it is necessary to bear in mind that cycling injuries are part of prehospital emergency care. Paramedics should be aware of current practices and continue with self-education.

The use of stretching in training process of athletes
Ďurica, Pavel ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Tittle (Thema works): The use ofstretching in the training proces ofathletes Student: Pavel Ďurica Supervisor: PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, Ph.D. The aims ofthesis: The aim of our thesis was to find out the use of stretching exercises in athletic training in case of regularly training individuals of different age categories and different athletic specializations. Methods: We used questionanare metod in our thesis. The substance ofthe questionnare was find out data and information about respondents and theirs opinion and attitude to stretching exercises and thein use in training process. Results: Sprinters start their athletic career as youngest. Our survey also established that sprinters and hudlers are training most frequently. Enquired athletes mostly sustain injuries of gastrocnemius muscle (19%) and biceps femoris muscle (14%) further ofankle (17%) and Achilles tendon (18%). Stretching is used most often in the beginning of a training unit (100%) and in iťs end (73%). Stretching is used minimally during the training unit as well in the case ofthe separate training unit. During the annual cycle stretching is used more in the preparatory and racing period less in the transitional period. Conduce is used by stretching minimally. Only every fourth athlete use for conduce training aids (28%) or a partner...

Cycling the Camino de Santiago
Perinová, Lucie ; Netková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Bakos, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of this paper is to present the St. James Ways as an important product of modern tourism and focus on the pilgrim routes, specifically on the route Vía de la Plata, which will be analyzed from the cyclist point of view. The first part of this paper deals with the definition of the pilgrimage tourism, describes some of the most interesting pilgrim places, presents the history of the pilgrimage. The following chapter presents the main statistic data about tourism in Spain, information about the St. James Ways, including their history and development and the forms of promotion in general. The next part explains the historic and religion background, presents the practical information, and forms of promotion of the Vía de la Plata, simultaneously analyzes the focus on the cyclist as a specific tourist segment. The last part deals with the official pilgrimage statistic data and confirms the increasing interest in the St. James Ways. Substantial are the results of the survey, representing how the cycling segment is interested in this form of modern tourism.

Cost analysis of engineering structures
Klec, Martin ; Kudrna, Jan (referee) ; Výskala, Miloslav (advisor)
The thesis titled "Cost analysis of engineering structures" presents a comparison of the life cycle costs of linear structures with an asphalt surface against the life cycle cost of linear structures with a concrete surface. The thesis deals with prices, costs, calculations and budgets in its theoretical part. The following chapters present history and current status, road constructions, life cycle of the construction and differences between concrete and asphalt covering. Practical part of the thesis is divided into three parts. In each sub-section, there is a practical example of comparing the costs of the life cycle of linear structure with the asphalt surface against the costs of the life cycle of linear structure with the concrete surface. Everything is expressed in graphs.

Race: myth for the classification of human variability
Sládek, Vladimír
There is long history to use race concept and typological approach for classification of human diversity. Since the first use, the race concept is based on presumption that morphology and/or genetic background of living organism offer essential information about their genealogy. This essential information can be studied by race features; the race features are stabile both during the time period and reproductive cycles. Therefore, the race feature can be used to connect reproductive groups. However, evolutionary studies show that static race features are not present in biological organisms. Morphological as well as genetic features changed not only due to functional demand and selective factors but also by stochastic processes as for example by genetic drift. Therefore, a selection of race features to classify human variability is arbitrary process since there is no direct connection between consequent generations.

Expérience Grand-Guignol: a project description from the viewpoint of the dramaturg
Kebrtová, Helena ; HANČIL, Jan (advisor) ; SCHEJBAL, Milan (referee)
This Master Thesis describes the Expérience Grand-Guignol project, consisting on the one hand of research of the texts preserved in the Parisian Theatre Grand-Guignol (1897 – 1963) and on the other hand of a graduation performance in Theatre DISK which staged four plays from the repertory of this famous theatre of horrors. The Expérience Grand-Guignol project explored in practice various approaches to the historical material of Grand-Guignol placed in a contemporary context. It examined limits of the genre and methods of staging favorable to the Grand-Guignol experience today. The thesis is structured in three parts. The first part presents the Grand-Guignol theatre phenomenon, its history and theory compiled from accessible literature. The second part is dedicated to a detailed preparation and realization of the project. It presents four performed shows, including the overall set design and storyline, which provides the frame for the cycle. The last part presents a short reflection on fear as an effect of a theatre performance, a summary of observations from the practical examination, and an evaluation of project.

Cycling in the Central Bohemia Region
Jandová, Michaela ; Zelený, Lubomír (advisor) ; Černý, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this thesis Cycling in the Central Bohemia Region is to analyse the state of cycling in selected microregion, to analyse preconditions for further development of cycling and to assess the state of cyclepaths in the microregion. The emphasis is put on the development of cycling as an equivalent means of transport. The other aim is to identify the key problems of cycling and to propose own solutions, which would lead to elimination of problems, which have been found. This thesis also includes a detailed analysis of parking cycling infrastructure and proposals for adequate measures for its improvement.
