Aesthetic and Body Movement Education in the Waldorf Pedagogy.
Šimková, Marie ; Mazáčová, Nataša (advisor) ; Váňová, Miroslava (referee)
Over the last few decades there has been a detectable increase in public awareness of the complexity of human being. While in the former years cognitive faculty (measured by IQ tests) was the main matter of psychological interest, nowadays experts are focusing more on the other components of mental activity: emotional, social and creative intelligence. It is beyond dispute that school should foster the development of all these qualities; however, a question rises over the educational procedures and methods which should be employed to reach this high idea. One of the possible ways is represented by waldorf pedagogy whose main aim is to nourish and develop children's minds, hearts and souls and guide them on their way towards becoming valuable members of human society.

Estonia as a Nordic Country?
Vejmělek, Tomáš ; Švec, Luboš (advisor) ; Skálová, Barbora (referee)
The following thesis deals with two primary matters. The first being the effort of Estonian politicians to change how Estonia's regional belonging is viewed by other countries before the admission into the European Union. These efforts can be illustrated by political actions whose aim was to create the image of Estonia as a Nordic country. These efforts slightly diminished after the admission into the European Union although on some levels they can be still observed. Despite close cooperation Estonia isn't adequate member of Nordic countries to this day. This thesis aspires to explain reasons for these action of Estonian politicians and why they were left off after the admission into EU. The second matter being the region of Nordic countries. Collective Nordic identity helped establish transnational cooperation among involved nations which represents one of the essential characteristics of a Nordic country. The emphasis is on historical context of Nordic identity and the development of Nordic cooperation from its initiation until current state. First the thesis introduces a theoretical insight into the region matters. Consequently it deals with the first matter, the efforts to redefine Estonia as a Nordic country, which is followed by analysis of the concept of a Nordic country and Nordic...

Physiology and ecology of saprotrophic basidiomycetes degrading dead plant biomass
Valášková, Vendula
My thesis is focused on soil saprotrophic basidiomycetes, their role in the decomposition of dead plant biomass and interactions with other members of microbial community since these fungi play a particularly important role in biotransformation of soil organic matter and therefore also in the cycling of carbon and mineral nutrients. Three litter-decomposing basidiomycetes isolated from Quercus petraea forest: Hypholoma fasciculare, Rhodocollybia butyracea and Gymnopus sp., efficiently degraded oak litter under both sterile and nonsterile conditions, but the rate of degradation and lignocellulolytic enzyme production considerably differed among isolates. Generally, the degradation caused by these isolates resembled decay caused by white-rot fungi. The fungi produced a broad range of lignocellulose-degrading enzymes: laccase, Mn- peroxidase, endo-1,4-β glucanase, endo-1,4-β xylanase, β-glucosidase and β-xylosidase. Saprotrophic basidiomycetes thus probably contribute to the observed spatial variability in extracellular enzyme activities in the upper soil horizon in oak forest. Spatial differences in enzyme activities were accompanied by differences in the microbial community composition, the relative amount of fungal biomass decreased with soil depth. The vertical gradients in soil occured at a small...

Media image of the Workers Party during Janov events on the pages of Mlada Fronta DNES and Lidove Noviny
Werner, Lukáš ; Slanec, Jaroslav (referee) ; Láb, Filip (advisor)
Diploma thesis "Media Image of the Workers Party During Janov Events on the Pages of Mlada fronta Dnes and Lidove noviny" deals with the manner how two chosen Czech newspapers referred about the commotions in Janov, which is a part of Litvinov, Northern Bohemia. In autumn 2008 members and supporters of ultra-right Delnicka strana (the Workers Party) clashed with police and local Romany after they tried to break through to the Janov housing estate. According to them, their aim was to support and protect the local non-Romany inhabitants. The methods of the thesis are quantitative and qualitative analysis of the media content. Thanks to them it is able to compare the amount of space which two chosen newspapers used to refer about these events and if their news were balanced and in which manners did they differ. There is also a theoretical part, in which a development and rise of Czech rightwing extremism after the Velvet revolution is described and summed up, focusing on the political parties who represented the Nazis in the 1990s and now - the SPR-RSC (Republicans) and Delnicka strana.

After the year of 1918 it was divided into three parts. La corrida de toros. The celebration of the beatiful death
Lahodová, Markéta ; Matějů, Martin (referee) ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor)
The aim of this work is to introduce Spanish corrida de toros in a broader cultural context and to underline its importance not only for Spain, but for the whole of modern society as well. Whether this brutal tradition is justifiable in the 21st century or an anachronism that can no longer be tolerated has been widely debated; I have reached the conclusion that it is not only ajustifiable tradition but also a meaningful tradition as well. Corrida de toros with all its lack of restraint, spontaneity and genuineness represents the last ritual of western culture. It is a ritual of collective ecstasy that creates an antipole to an overly technological and excessively rational society. As a matter of fact, it even presents an ideal model for the relationship between man and animal, which is expressed by respect and honor. In modern society, such a model has disappeared. Either the animal is reduced to nothing but a thing and kept in cruel conditions or it is ridiculously put on a pedestal and becomes a member of the family. Historically a variety of people have been attracted by corrida de toros. They were and are fascinated by its sincerity and rawness, while at the same time they are intrigued by its mysteriousness. It has influenced a great number of Spanish and non- Spanish artists all over the world. Some...

European Union Allowance as a Security and Financial Instrument
Tůma, Jan ; Kříž, Radim (advisor) ; Chára, Petr (referee)
European Union Emission Trading System has been in operation since 2005 and to this point the legal nature of European Union Allowances is still controversial. Moreover, this question is complicated by fact, that a member state can not handle this problem, because it is acquis communautaire to solve it. The aim of this study is to explore the legal nature of allowance in Czech legal system, in merito, whether it is a security and/or a financial instrument. In conclusion, allowance is neither of those and its legal nature is still unclear, but also it does not really matter by now. Nevertheless, for the future smooth functioning of the EU ETS it is necessary that European Commission pursues this subject.
