This study deals with the issues of Web 2.0 and social networks with an emphasis on education and the Czech universities. At the first briefly describes the basic characteristics and technology of Web 2.0. In its second part discusses the benefits and usability of the major Web 2.0 services in education, because this kind of usage is constantly gaining importance and has its sense to our society. Further states the list of top social networks abroad and in the Czech Republic. And finally, in its last section, the analysis of information on social networks about famous Czech universities is performed.
Use of Web 2.0 technologies in education

The thesis Use of Web 2.0 technologies in education introduces the concept of Web 2.0 and its basic characteristics. The first chapter is based on the explanation of major tools and technologies labelled as Web 2.0. The second chapter deals with specific services which have already found its place in education process. The same chapter evaluates the ways of dealing with their appropriate use, particularly in higher education. This chapter contains also the examples of successful use in education. The thesis is mainly concerned about using Web 2.0 tools in the environment of Czech schools. As Web 2.0 services are not new, I asked students and teachers at the University of Economics in Prague and asked what experience they have with such instruments in their personal life, so in context of education. The third chapter is entirely devoted to survey the use of Web 2.0 tools in the practice of The University of Economics in Prague. Content of the final chapter is a reflection of what direction the web will evolve in the coming years. It also evaluates social issues associated with the turbulent development of the Internet and Web 2.0.
Using social networks to support business

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze and decide whether the social webs are an appropriate place for company and their products presentation. On the basis of criteria chosen to decide which networks are in the Czech environment the most suitable and what promotion tools they offer. The thesis is divided into the theoretical part, in which I consider technical terminology and describe the development of means for gathering people on the Internet till the today's look. A chapter follows that considers the most widespread websites in the Czech Republic, stressing especially Facebook, on which I illustrate the platform for application development. In the practical part I illustrate the promotion options of a company on Facebook through an actual marketing, I consider the aim differences, costs connected with the campaign running, and then I evaluate whether the campaign is successful, and I add proposals for improvement. Another theme is the possibility of using Facebook API and the FBML language by creating an application of the Facebook platform and its use by marketing. The work also consists of a public survey, which shows which social networks people leave and which they go to, reactions of the users for advertisements on social networks and their relationship to the applications running on social networks. The contribution of this work is to show opportunities that using social networks in company presentation offers.
Knowledge management of small and medium enterprises with Web 2.0 technologies

The thesis aims to examine the opportunities for Web 2.0 trends in the knowledge management of an enterprise. Its main focus is the Enterprise 2.0 systems. The goal is to show the potential Enterprise 2.0 systems have to offer to an enterprise, how it can contribute to an effective knowledge management and how an enterprise can thus increase its efficiency. The thesis also covers the Enterprise 2.0 implementation process emphasizing the importance of its incorporation into a wider framework of corporate culture. The practical part suggests a knowledge management solution for one of the leading language schools in Prague, Czech Republic, aiming to share knowledge among its teachers.
Virtual construction of social reality through online communication and social networks

This final paper is centered on influence of the internet in forming of social reality. Main factor in creation of social reality is element of socialization, say communication. The aim of this paper is online communication and socialization developed through chats, discussion groups, blogs, forums summarized by one term -- social networks, which gained very strong position among communication applications available on the internet. I have tried to find out how online communication influence people and how close one can get in creation of social reality in virtual settings in correlation with other members of such settings. Technology of today creates new forms of communication and new ways and connections among members of online communication groups, which differ from the real ones. Distance is no longer an issue and it is completely natural to interact, thus influence somebody and be influence by somebody, from a different geographical, social, economical or political settings. All of these factors directly influence construct of social reality of those who communicate. Study was conducted as a survey. Questionnaire was sent to two hundred people and 107 returned back. More than half of 107 respondents don't know each other, come from various social classes and different areas of Czech Republic. Range of age of respondents is 15-63 years. All of them were given questions aiming at the reality of virtual communication, virtual friendship and bonds between online members. Other questions aim at the authenticity of information and partially influence of commercials in process of decision making. My contribution to this work was mainly creation of questioner, analysis of answers towards conclusions about the influence of online communication on perception and forming of social reality. Analysis that aimed at respondents spending most of their time online brought interesting conclusions in comparison with other groups, which didn't spent as much time online. The paper begins with theoretical summary of reality, its construction, online applications and scientific papers which include their positive and negative impacts. Following there is study introducing respondents, basic questions, hypothesis and then interpretation of answers with previous studies taken in account. Outcome of this work concludes main aspects of interpretations and draw basic view of the future. The questionnaire and more detailed answers about time spent online are in the appendix.
Social networks - case study of Facebook

In my thesis I deal with online social networks. At the beginning, I describe the social networks in general. Continuing by online social networks, where do I start with a brief history and then I focuse on the description of their basic features. Next section is devoted to the possibilities of social networks for both current users and business users, or state institutions or politicians. Next chapter is devoted to the risks of online social networking. These risks are described for users and operators. The practical part of my work is about internet social network Facebook. Here is a brief description of its history and basic usability. The greater part of this chapter is concentrated on partial parsing content of Facebook with focusing on education, politics, business and socio-pathological phenomena. This section is supplemented by tables of data found in the environment of Facebook. Work ends with a brief summary of the findings.
Facebook Phenomena in Today's Communication

Transdisciplinary focused work concentrates on communication on the social network Facebook. Firstly, the author puts forward a theoretical introduction to social communication and afterwards to communication on social networks. The thesis introduces the concept of New Media and Web 2.0 as the essential platform for the full development of the potential of Facebook. Further, the author discusses the term Online Social Networks and the definition of Social Capital. With the help of the former and latter the author demonstrates the rightfulness of people social ties; i.a. on the Small-World theory. The subsequent analysis is dedicated to Pages and Groups, which appear o Facebook. On sampled examples the author examines the content of communicated messages, the motivation people have to join such Groups and Pages and the overlap this activity has in the real world.

The bachelor thesis deals with social networks and their use in marketing. The first chapter describes the development of the Internet. The second chapter is devoted to marketing and marketing communication in the context of new opportunities brought by the Internet. The third chapter examines in detail the problems of social media with an emphasis on social networks. Within this chapter the most popular Czech and world social networks are characterized. Further, the work explains how the social network Facebook can be used for marketing purposes. The largest part is devoted to the communication strategy on Facebook, which was created for the individual needs of company Robzone.
The Role of ICT in the Elections and Political Marketing

This bachelor thesis deals with the way political parties are struggling through the area of the New Economy and marketing, which they are striving to use in luring of the general public. Political marketing is connected with the latest methods of using ICT tools, mainly with the Internet in the form of the web 2.0 and with social networks. This thesis engages in the presidential campaign of the American president Barack Obama and his revolutionary technique of running successful political campaign and the way he used wide range of ICT technologies to his advantage. His election battle and social media strategy set an important precedent for another politicians and even for business around the world.
Utilization of web 2.0 in commercial organizations

This bachelor thesis is dealing with utilization of web 2.0 in commercial organizations. The aim of the thesis is to describe possible utilization and appraise practical application in particular organization. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis explains the web 2.0 theory and it's most frequent solutions with emphasis on the commercial area. The utilization of the wiki platform, which bolgs are used in practice or how to present the enterprise in social networks will be in the thesis introduced. The web 2.0 is contextualized with parts of enterprise informatics, in which directly interferes in. In this part, the deflection of classical CRM, SCM, KM and groupware systems is noticed. The theoretical knowledge are finally applied in the analysis of the existing enterprise. The accent is in the first place putted on the reality of the suggested solution.
