This thesis deals with the optimisation of the selected manufacturing process. The aim is to analyse the effectiveness of the selected welding and assembly lines. Another objective is to do a detailed analysis for the line with the lowest efficiency in terms of cycle time and the Overall Equipment Effectiveness and calculate the lost production time due to availability, performance and defects. The third objective is to identify possible measures leading to higher utilization of manufacturing line and to propose a possible implementation. The theoretical part is based on the literature examining the term standardization, the norms of labour intensity, the cycle time, the Total Productive Maintenance and the calculation of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness. In the practical part the profile of Car manufacturing is being presented, the analysis of secondary data to calculate the Overall Equipment Effectiveness is being done and the appropriate manufacturing line for the innovative plan is being selected. Furthermore, the analysis of secondary data regarding the effectiveness of the using time of the manufacturing line is being done, the calculation of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness and the collection of primary data is being carried out. Subsequently, the problematic spots of the manufacturing line are being found and the possible measures leading to higher efficiency of manufacturing line are being proposed.
Marital status as a differentiating factor in demographic behavior
Nedomová, Radka ; Pechholdová, Markéta (advisor) ; Nývlt, Ondřej (referee)
Diploma thesis explores the diversity of demographic behavior depending on marital status and is aimed at summarizing the effect of marital status on demographic behavior as a whole. The first phase deals with the concepts of impact of marital status on demographic behavior, explains the theory of selection and causality and outlines the historical development of nuptiality and divorce by using basic indicators. The practical part is based on the results of Population and Housing Censuses during the period 1961-2011 and compares the changes in the structure of the Czech population by sex, age and marital status between censuses. Emphasis is placed on the period after 1990. Furthermore, in separate chapters is mapped out how marital status affects demographic processes of fertility, abortion, nuptiality and mortality. In the case of fertility exploration is emphasized increasing extramarital fertility, as more and more children are born outside marriage, especially to single mothers. By using age-specific and standardized rates are analyzed changes in the development of individual demographic processes between censuses for all categories of marital status. Standardization of mortality for the years 1961, 1970 and 1980 is made on the basis of the formation of shortened life tables and the subsequent modeling of mortality at higher ages. In connection of changing structure of the population by marital status, as the proportion of unmarried and divorced people is growing and the share of people living in a marriage is decreasing, is judged attitude of the Czech public toward marriage and family according to surveys results available.
Application of modern methods of production management in small business - Acan
Bulánková, Lucie ; Svobodová, Hana (advisor) ; Keblovská, Markéta (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with application of modern management methods, leading to improvement, acceleration and standardization of the manufacturing processes, to a small business Acan. The main objective is the verification whether it is possible to use at least part of the Toyoda company philosophy, which solves problems of the method of 8 steps, in the conditions of a small business. The method enables during eight steps to find the problem and its cause, create counter-measures, and consequentially evaluate the results. The last step is a standardization of the successful process and new cycle of the Kaizen method.

The standardization of BusinessObjects reporting in a corporation
Žižka, Ondřej ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Hauzírek, Michal (referee)
The main theme of the thesis is standardization of BusinessObjects reporting in a corporation. This work is linked in with my bachelor work, which deals with the transformation of manual reporting from MS Excel to Business Intelligence platform in the form of interactive reports. Standardization of reporting and integration of Business Intelligence system in the infrastructure of the company represents further development in the evolution of the reporting in the organization. This work proposes a method for the implementation of BusinessObjects at the Operations department in the GE Money Bank. This work creates a draft of direction for the owner of BusinessObjects and a set of the most valuable experience I gained in this project. This work deals with the standardization of reporting, that should not be underestimated in any case, even though it happens many times. Multiple data sources often exist in huge organizations, data in production databases are not consistent and the company often uses several suppliers of Business Intelligence solutions. Non-standard reporting means risking in the form of inconsistent and chaotic data sets. This thesis can be used as a practical guide to avoid these mistakes and achieve more efficient and faster reporting. The conclusion of the thesis is that the standardization process of reporting is necessary logical step that organizations have to do if they want to set a unified form of reporting throughout the whole company and to increase consistency and clarity of data in reports.
Standardization of data structures of a financial BI solution
Chaloupecký, Stanislav ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Zajíc, Ján (referee)
In this diploma thesis I concentrate on analysing the possibilities of standardization of financial Business Intelligence solution. The objective is firstly to assess whether it is useful to create a so-called standard model, i.e. a solution model, which could be used repeatedly in independent BI project implementations. The objective is to analyse whether there are similarities among the implemented BI projects in terms of content requirements (measures and dimensions), or what are the differences. The objective is then to design a standard solution model (design relational and dimensional model for data structures). Another objective is to create a functional prototype solution based on the designed model, i.e. to create the actual data structures and fill them with data. A part of this prototype solution should be a set of demonstrative reports. The objectives will be achieved first of all by analysing the theoretical foundations, which provides the literature, and by analysing available real project documentation. Considered BI projects have been implemented within several non-financial commercial institutions. That means that the outputs of this thesis are applicable primarily in non-financial enterprises environments. In the next step, the dimensional modelling techniques will be used to create the schema. Then, leveraging the knowledge of BI solution development techniques on Microsoft SQL Server platform, the prototype solution will be deployed. Reports will be developed using the Microsoft Excel client tool. The benefit of this thesis consists in the model added value, which can be used as the core of newly developed financial BI solutions. The implementation process should by this spare some time. Another benefit of the thesis is the possible use of the prototype solution as a tool for customized demonstration of the financial BI capabilities to potential customers.
Lean enterprise
Gmenta, Marian ; Klečka, Jiří (advisor) ; Svobodová, Hana (referee)
The content of this thesis is a set of approaches that lead to a leaner enterprise. Besides the basic lean methods that are described in the theoretical part of this paper, the most attention is devoted to total productive maintenance (TPM). The practical part of this paper primarily focuses on a complete analysis of the maintenance system in Parker Hannifin and then on a project designed to implement the basic elements of TPM in the above mentioned enterprise. At the end of the piece, the project is evaluated and further ideas and recommendations for the future development of TPM in the enterprise are proposed.
