Studio Fontana music library and its information services

Cílem této diplomové je poskytnutí komplexního pohledu na hudební knihovny netradičního typu (zvukové banky), analýza a zhodnocení jejich informačních procesů, fondů a služeb. Zkoumaná hudební knihovna je provozována českou společností Studio Fontána a nese název Fontana Music Library (FML). V textu je nejprve vysvětlena obecná podstata zvukových bank. Hlavní část práce se věnuje kompletnímu rozboru konkrétní zvukové banky (FML). Jsou zde popsány vztahy s českými ochrannými organizacemi (OSA, Intergram) a vazby na zahraniční hudební knihovny. Podrobně jsou vylíčeny informační služby a procesy probíhající ve FML (akvizice, katalogizace, ukládání a zpřístupňování zvukových dokumentů). V závěru textu jsou shrnuty trendy a perspektivy budoucího rozvoje zvukových bank.

The present situation of public libraries in the region of South Bohemia

Diplomová práce pojednává o současném stavu veřejného knihovnictví v Jihočeském kraji. Cílem práce je podat přehled o současném stavu veřejných knihoven v kraji a analyzovat a zhodnotit činnost vybraných knihoven. V úvodu je stručná charakteristika vymezené oblasti, nastíněn zdejší vývoj knihoven a knihovnictví, ale také vývoj národnostního uspořádání, protože otázka vztahu soužití českého a německého obyvatelstva zde vždy hrála významnou roli a ovlivňovala rozvoj tohoto kraje. Poté následuje popis současného stavu veřejného knihovnictví z pohledu plnění regionálních funkcí a následně je rozebírána činnost pěti vybraných městských knihoven - dvou z vnitrozemí a tří z pohraničních regionů. U všech knihoven je pojednáno o jejich historii, jednotlivých odděleních a službách v nich poskytovaných a zajímavých akcích, které knihovny pořádají pro dětské i dospělé čtenáře, případně příklady zajímavé spolupráce knihovnen s ostatními kulturními, vzdělávacími a občanskými organizacemi. U knihoven z pohraničních regionů je ještě zmiňována jejich přeshraniční spolupráce s německými a hornorakouskými knihovnami. V analýze jednotlivých knihoven je převážně zohledňováno časové období posledních dvou až tří let. The development and current state of library stock digitalization in the Czech Republic and its key issues

Tématem této diplomové práce je problematika digitalizace knihovních fondů v České Republice a související klíčové otázky. V první části se práce zabývá procesem a nástroji digitalizace. Seznamuje s obrazem a jeho zpracováním, obrazovými formáty, metadaty, popisuje proces mikrofilmování dokumentů a zabývá se způsoby ochrany digitálních objektů. Další část práce stručně popisuje možnosti dotací pro projekty digitalizace v ČR a seznamuje se systémy Manuscriptorium a Kramerius, nejvýznamnějšími českými programy digitalizace. Následuje zásadní část práce, ve které jsou podrobně rozebrány vybrané projekty digitalizace. Další kapitola je věnována problematice duplicit digitalizovaných dokumentů a především nástrojům registrace digitalizovaných dokumentů, které umožňují předcházení vzniku těchto duplicit. Následuje popis projektu Evropské digitální knihovny a kroků, které jejímu vzniku předcházely. Závěr práce tvoří analýza a celkové zhodnocení popisovaných projektů digitalizace knihovních fondů.

New buildings for public libraries and reconstructions in the Czech Republic in the 1990's

Práce popisuje nově postavené budovy knihoven, rekonstrukce knihoven a přístavby knihoven, které proběhly v 90. letech 20. století na území České republiky. Popisuji zde parametry budov, kdy byla stavba zahájena a kdy ukončena, proč se stavila nová budova nebo proč probíhlala rekonstrukce. Také se věnuji popisu interiéru, jaké má knihovna oddělení a jaký používá automatizovaný knihovnický systém. Také zde zahrnuji statistiky z hlediska krajského členění České republiky, dle plochy pro služby uživatelům a také po finanční stránce.

Comparison of PHP frameworks Phalcon, Nette and Zend

Wide usage of the PHP language across web developers and its good availability results in existence of many projects built on it. Unfortunately, due to the growth of PHP popularity more requirements are imposed on it. Not all of them tend to be related directly to the language itself but they can be affected by the external conditions (like e.g. Internet evolution, etc.). Special libraries (also known as frameworks) are response to existence of permanently repetitive tasks and growing complexity of problems being solved not only in the context of web development. There are three PHP framework representatives compared in this paper (Zend Framework 2.3, Nette 2.1.2 and Phalcon 1.3.1). In the first section, some fundamental terms are declared as well as some inherent limitations of the PHP language itself. Further, various comparison criterions are introduced together with additional research questions which are more or less answered in the main section. The second theoretical-practical section analyses the frameworks in the context of the defined problem domains. The main purpose of the application programming interface review together with included code snippets is to describe possible differences in approaches applied for some specific problems. Additionally, some options for measuring framework popularity mentioned in earlier section are used, too. In the end, frameworks are not evaluated either in positive or negative way. The final evaluation remains on the actual reader. The main focus is to provide basic insight into all three frameworks and possibly to (de)motivate to deeper exploration any of them. Also, as matter of secondary objectives some axiomatic assumptions are validated (like speed and popularity of the frameworks).

ProArc - Open Source Solutions for Digital Documents Production and Archiving

ProArc – the production and archiving system is freely available tool for producing and editing descriptive, technical and administrative metadata to digitized and born digital documents. The system allows you to create import data for the Kramerius system. One of the outputs are PSP packages created according to NDK standards of the National Library. ProArc system has been developed by the Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in collaboration with INCAD, which provides programming and analytical work. Since 2013, when the system was fully deployed in the Digitalization Centre of the Academy of Sciences Library, more than 400,000 pages of different types of documents have been processed . Currently, the system is also being implemented in other institutions. The archive section is being developed that will allow connection to the Archivematica system. ProArc will be presented from the perspective of the processor. ProArc system is one of the outputs of the Czech Digital Library project. The aim of the project is to create a single interface of digital libraries in the Czech Republic for end users and to provide data for international projects. The project is funded by the NAKI programme of the Ministry of Culture.

ITIL and COBIT Implementation in ARIS Toolset

This master's thesis explores the topic of guidance for the COBIT framework and ITIL library in the context of business process management. It encompasses various process modelling languages and diagrams for companies active in information and communication technologies. Through the selected ARIS tool set and the mapping of all 64 processes, the establishment of individual processes can now be achieved, which is explained by modelling a total of 101 diagrams. The thesis also contains an example of process deployment for a selected company, which is accompanied by an implementation of a dashboard application that monitors the ticket flow of service operation processes.

Analysis of the Education System in Municipal Library of Louny

The topic of this Bachelor thesis is the Analysis of the education system of the Louny City Library. The aim of it is to describe the whole process of the employees education in the institution. Its focus is on the analysis of the employee needs, planning and creating the targets of the education program. But the main purpose is to map the specific workings of the Louny City Librarys educational system. I have used an interview with the director of the Louny City Library, Mgr. Dagmar Kučerová, to gain a detailed information about the current system and the progress of the employee education. The benefit of this Bachelor thesis is
in the determination of the institutions education system for the needs of both
the employer and the employees. The current selection of the library employees education is very rich and its continuously updated according
the needs of the institution and the workers. At the end I am suggesting adjustments in the education offerings for the employees on the Economist and the Leisure Activity Assistant positions. The questionnaire showed the employees in these positions dont consider the current opportunities sufficient.

3D Printing Machine Control

This thesis is about creating library for control of the 3D printing machine. Printer active axes are realized by stepper motors from Microcon Corporation connected with CD30x control unit. Communication between application and control units is via RS232 serial link. Part of this work is dedicated to application showing typical usage of this library.
