General Public Awareness about Vaccination before Going Abroad

This thesis deals with attitude of Czech travellers towards prevention of infectious diseases that can affect them during their stays in overseas destinations. The main objective of this work is to investigate awareness and interest of travellers in vaccination before going abroad. The theoretical part is focused on principles of good preparation for going abroad and also on infectious diseases that can complicate the stay abroad. The focus of the theoretical part is epidemiological characteristics of selected infectious diseases which pose a risk for travellers particularly in areas of Asia, South America and Africa. The practical part involves quantitative research carried out with 104 people, who in 2010 travelled overseas. Research covers information on infectious diseases, on risks connected with stays overseas and on the use of recommended preventive measures. For data collection I applied the method of questioning, the technique of a questionnaire. The research was indirect, via emails. The objective of the thesis was, above all, to highlight the need and importance to ensure quality information for citizens travelling overseas about possibilities of prevention of selected diseases through vaccination and the use of prophylactic medication and about the necessity of good hygiene in the above mentioned areas. The output of the thesis might be used as a basis for targeted focus on education of public through the cooperation of specialists with media or travel agencies. At the same time the thesis might be used as study material for both lay persons and as a basis for further research.

The topic of this diploma thesis is ?Physiognomically we have still been passers - by. Travelling as an intercultural experience in the work of Christoph Ransmayr?. This thesis is divided into seven basic parts. The first four chapters describe theoretical background of the thesis which is the Postmodernism, the Philosophy of the Postmodernism, the Interculturality and the Theory of Essays. The next chapter reports about the poetics of the narration and the aim of the last two parts is to analyze the books "Geständnisse eines Touristen" and "Der Weg nach Surabaya". The ambition of this diploma thesis is to research the relationship of Christoph Ransmayr to travelling and search for the influences of the travelling poetics in his two concrete books.

Potštejn, small town in the foothills of Orlice Mountains, became the famous resort during the last quarter of 19th century. Its fame was glamorized by the presence of important Czech personalities of science and culture. The leading propagator of Potštejn was its native professor J. U. Jarník. J. Kalousek, who as well as G. A. Lindner and J. Kvíčala bought houses there, had close relationship to Potštejn. Teachers at the Prague university O. Hostinský, J. Emler, J. Vlček, J. Král, L. Niederle, V. Tille, T. G. Masaryk, V. V. Tomek, A. Rezek, K. Tieftrunk, B. Rieger a K. Maydl also visited Potštejn. Another famous visitors were F. Müller, professor of Vienna University, and his colleagues V. Jagić and J. Hyrtl, further professors of Warsaw University K. J. Grot, I. P. Filevič, V. A. Francev, and O. Asbóth, professor of Budapest University. Writers J. V. Sládek a J. Vrchlický, teachers of Prague University, and painters Karel and Adolf Liebschers also liked this place.
The Secret Journeys: "The Revolutionary Couriers"

The contribution deals with the journeys of Czech-Americans from neutral USA to Austro-Hungarian Monarchy during the First World War. The war limited the personnel traveling, especially, between the belligerent countries. The Czechoslovak independence movement created unique style for secret exchange of the information by means of messengers. The work discusses the criteria for choice of couriers, as well as suitable routes, financial supplies and possibilities of obtaining the passports. It considers practical result of "secret journeys".
T. G. Masaryk and his journeys to Capri 1921–1922

The contribution focuses on the journeys of president Thomas G. Masaryk to Capri at the beginning of the 1920s. Masaryk suffered from serious health problems in 1921 and therefore it was necessary for him to go abroad to recover. These were also the first trips of Czechoslovak president and they became models (i.e. in organisation) for Masaryk´s other journeys. The contribution deals with the organisation of the journeys and tries to capture day-to-day life at Capri. The influence on Masaryk´s state of health or financial background of the journeys is also mentioned in the text.

It traces not only preparing for the yourney and its specific course (e.g. visited places, people, who he met, used means of transport, the way of accomodation and boarding), but also Hyzrle´s perception of visited milieu and its fixation in memoirs of this nobleman.

Thesis is engaged in the research of the market of the web portals focused on tourism and travelling round Slovakia. The first part explores the purpose of internet for travelling, the second part contains summary of the main factors which has the greatest influence on tourism in Slovakia. The main aim which is included in the third and the fourth part is to analyse current web portals oriented on Slovakia as touristic destination and to prepare a primary plan of particular travel web focused on such content.
Choosen cultural atractivities of Indian tourism

This diploma thesis deals with Indian monuments and tourism. First, the basic information about India is given, followed by the analysis of Indian tourism. All the facts resulting from this part of the thesis are summarised in the SWOT analysis. The main part of the thesis deals with the tours offered by Czech travel agencies. It also includes the list of Indian monuments which were choosen according to the own experience and people's recommandation. The final part of the thesis evaluates the results of the questionnaire research. The aim is to determine the potential of Indian tourism, to give the overview of the current tourism of India and its monuments and to find out if the Czech public opinion about India confirmes the assumed thesis.
Travelling as alternative spending leisure time at 1960s in Czechoslovakia

Bachelor thesis contains description of basic changes in society in Czechoslovakia at 1960s, which dramatically influenced leisure time of population. It is focused on travelling in Czechoslovakia with support only trade union -- Revolutionary trade movement. It analysis three main types of trade recreation, which were "selected centrally planned recreation", "business recreation" and "pioneer recreation". The aim of my thesis was discover, how people spent their leisure time on holidays, mainly at recreations and why these recreations had a big success. Mainly bargain price and quite hight quality of these recreations with big expansion among employees ensure big popularity of organised recreation, cognitive and stay trips also in these days.
