This Diploma Thesis, Analysis of on-shelf-availability in FMCG industry, describes and analyses the project of Unilever CR company and one of its retail customers. Its theoretical part defines the supply chain and its specifications in FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) industry. It tries to find out why there are several cases when goods are not available on shelf for final buyer (project OSA- on shelf availability). The results and project itself is a part of analytical part of this Thesis. Last but not the least is the part analyzing the measures to avoid the out of stock situation in next occasions.

The role of logistics in the pharmaceutical industry

Bachelor thesis deals with the logistics of the supply chain in the pharmaceutical industry, while focusing on the wholesalers operating this sector in the Czech market. The introduction presents general requirements related to the storage and distribution of drugs, imposed by the regulatory authorities and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Subsequently, the thesis discusses recent events that have altered the nature of the industry globally as well as locally. The emphasis is placed on the transformation of relations between individual actors of the supply chain, which was caused by the increase of production of drugs in developing countries, the changing nature of pharmaceutical products and the fast technology development. Further, it describes the system of drug distribution in the domestic market and analyzes the positions and business strategies of the largest wholesale companies. Presented are arguments why another mergers and acquisitions are expected in the near future. The result of the analysis is a proposition of business strategy for chosen company that should contribute to maintaining its position in the Czech market.

Creation of the distribution chain for textile products

The thesis is focused on the creation of the logistics chain for textile products. The issue was analyzed and suitable suppliers after their selection. Were then identified the best transportation options to the Czech Republic in accordance with the optimized cost effectiveness. The next stage of the analysis of demand forecast, which then followed the method cost-effective order quantities. In the last stage on the basis of analyzes to create the optimum distribution.

Impact of international production network on the configuration of the worldwide procurement organization and performance

Increased trends towards globalisation, optimization of the value chain, outsourcing of activities and focus on core competentencies result in increased importance of procurement's role, in that it causes high attention from top management.The focus from top management is based on the change of the cost structure, i.e. lowering internal value chain and an increase of material and purchasing costs above 50 %. The core objectives of the worldwide procurement are internationalization, strategic focus and costs reduction. There are high expectations towards procurement. First, to generate procurement savings on a global scale, to identify the best procurement markets, finding the best supplier and to determine the world class price level. The study has been targeted to analyze the configuration of worldwide procurement organizations and the impact of international production network on procurement. Furthermore, to benchmark international sourcing activities on a global scale, resulting in identification of critical success factors for improving the procurement quality and effectiveness.

Specifics of Spare Parts Logistics, Renault Czech republic corp case

Diploma thesis is analysing specific aspects of spare parts logistics on practical situation of Renault Česká Republika, a.s. ("RCR") and its largest concessionaire, RENAULT RETAIL GROUP CZ, s.r.o. (formerly Renault Praha Zličín - "RPZ"). Elements of spare parts supply chain are described separately with focus on spare parts distribution centre in Györ, Hungary, which is later compared with similar centres of Škoda Auto and Toyota. Furthermore the inbound logistics processes of RCR is described and commented. Subsequent parts of the thesis focus on the analysis of spare parts warehouse with objective to improve the efficiency of stored references compound in order to eliminate dispensable references which are being stored. This improvement should therefore allow ameliorated fixing of invested cash flow and minimise the amount of references to be ordered urgently due to unsuitable composition of stock in storage. Finally the thesis deals with effects impact of severe events such, in particular with actual effect of Japanese earthquake on spare parts supply chain and optional measures to be taken to diversify and/or minimise such risks.

Logistics of choosen plant

This thesis deals with material management.in CzechPak manufacturing plant. The main aim of the thesis is to analyse the current situation of logistics at CzechPak Manufacturing and propose changes to ease material management. Further aim is to point out key materials and suppliers. The thesis introduces the plant targets and postion of logistic targets within the plant strategy. In this thesis food industry features are specified with regards to logistic processes. The thesis gives proposals for process and system changes in material management with taking advantages of SAP system. In this thesis ABC analysis is applied on materials in CzechPak Manufacturing to indicate key materials and propose supplies optimization.
