Czechoslovakian Social Democratic Party ahead of 1946 election in Rudé právo and Svobodné noviny newspaper

The topic of this diplomma work is how Czechoslovakian social democratic party was described during preelection period in 1946 in newspapers Rude pravo and Svobodne noviny. The text aims to introduce the topic of the way how Czechoslovakian social democratic party (ČSD) is reflected in contemporary press: Svobodne noviny and Rude pravo. The Constituent Assembly ellections at 26. May 1946 were for a long time period the Last elections, which could have been called democratic. The communist party got 40,17% of votes and entered the government for the first time in history. This issue has not been satisfactorily elaborated yet. The thesis is divided into two main parts, the first one being theoretical and the second analytic. First, I describe the general situation in the post-WWII Czechoslovakia and the position of the Social Democracy. In the second part, I provide a characteristic of the analyzed newspapers and discuss the articles in order to verify the hypothesis.
Struggle between Slovak Democratic Party and Communist Party of Slovakia after the 1946 elections and its image in contemporary media

The bachelor thesis Struggle between Slovak Democratic Party and Communist Party of Slovakia after the 1946 elections and its image in contemporary media deals with the situation both on political and medial scene of Czechoslovakia during the period of two post-war years. It follows up characteristics of the changes in the political structure of Czechoslovakia, which were the result of the recently concluded World War II. Together with changes in the political scene also describes changes that took place in the area of the media industry. As a demonstration of this fact it shows the mode of covering of particular periodicals of both sides of the conflict. It's trying to explain how were the actual political events presented by periodicals and what was the method of assaulting on political competitors. The crucial part of this work deals with the content analysis of periodicals of both sides of the conflict and it concerns its results. It uses comparative analysis of two dailies and two weeklies and shows the ways of reporting on actual political events and the differences between Communist (daily Rudé právo, weekly Tvorba) and Democratic (daily Čas, weekly Demokratický týždenník) medias. Struggle for Czechoslovak Social Democracy in the Second Half of 1947

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the Czechoslovak Social Democracy and its relations with the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party in the second half of 1947. The text mentions important changes in these relations which occurred in this very period and gives an account of tensions within the Social Democracy as well. The main issue which was discussed inside the Social Democratic Party was the question of cooperation between Social Democrats and Communists. These intraparty tensions distinctively showed up in two events. One was the pact of Communist and Social Democratic solidarity, which was signed in September during negotiations on the Millionaires' Tax, the other was the Brno congress of the Social Democratic Party in November, 1947. This thesis also informs about the Communists' view on intraparty feuding within the Social Democratic Party and tactics which they used in approach to the Czechoslovak Social Democracy. Finally, this text also notifies of the National Socialists' thoughts on cooperation with the Social Democracy.
An Application of Political Theories on the Transformation of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia after 1989

The Bachelor thesis focuses on the development of the transmission power of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia to Civic Forum within the Czechoslovak state from the revolutionary events of November 1989 to the end of the year. It also seeks to typologies characteristic of social science authors of the transitologist processes and applies them to the case of Czechoslovak transition from non - democracy to consolidated democratic system by the first free elections in 1990. Moreover the emphasis is placed on the analysis of transformed the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, internal respectively external transformation of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, or the theory of anti-system approach used to apply and analyze the example of the Czech Communist Party.

The thesis concerns with the broadcast structure of the Czechoslovak Television Channel 1 broadcasting on February 25th in selected years of the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th decade of the 20 century. It addresses mainly the broadcast programming, similarities and differences in the program themes. The emphasis is placed upon the evening news program and interpretation of its content. Using the information and confronting it with historical sources the thesis tries to describe the changes in the broadcasting hand in hand with the changes in the politics of the leading Czech communist party as well as with the general mood of the Czech society. The thesis results in several findings of relations between the choice of themes and the current political situation. At the end the findings are generalized into several categories of the mechanisms used by the totalitarian regime to influence the broadcasting.
Authoritarian regime in Czechoslovakia in 1968

Goal of this thesis is to find, if Czechoslovakia in 1968, in the time of so called Prague Spring, could be defined as authoritarian regime. Typological theory of authoritarian regimes by Juan J. Linz is used. Thesis used comparative method for researching similar aspects of functionality of state machinery with aspects of Linz's theory of authoritarian regimes. Main point of interest is limited pluralism, which is most important for verification of Linz's theory in time of Prague Spring.
Communist Party of Czechoslovakia on the road to the illegality

Bachelor thesis discusses the possibilities of underground work of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ) and their presentation on examples of an illegal work of the foreign Communist Parties in the legal Czechoslovakian red newspapers since the late 1920s through to the final period of the legality of the Communist Party during the "Second Republic". The paper is divided into three thematic blocks. The first section deals with the context in the form of development of the party system since the late 1920s to the end of the First Republic, also the legal framework for the protection of the republic and the definition of anti-systemness. The second part depicts the history of the KSČ during late 1920s and early 1930s. The third part is already devoted to analyzing the possibility of illegal work by means of comparison. In fact in terms of analyzing the official party press, which could be based on articles on the activities of illegal foreign parties. These articles could eventually serve as models for the domestic illegal work. This fact is examined in the second part of the analysis. Organization of I. national Spartakiad in Czechoslovakai in 1955, its importance and symbolism for Communist regime

The thesis deals with the way the organization, meaning and symbolism I. Spartakiad held in 1955 in Czechoslovakia for the communist regime. In the introduction deals with political, economic, social and cultural situation after the World War II in Czechoslovakia. Then the thesis deals with the field of physical education and sport. It deals with the process of the unification of physical education in the interests of the communist party and its effects on the arrangement I. Spartakiad. A key issue is the demonstration of abuse traditions sports in Czechoslovakia, abuse Sokol festivals in order Spartakiad in terms of their organization and eventually themselves abuse masses protruding trainees. All this also presented an example of gymnastic songs, during which trainees through movements of their bodies to express a clear link to the communist symbolism.
Communist Propaganda in February 1948

This study focuses on a communist propaganda in Czechoslovakia during the coup d'état in February 1948. First chapter analyses position of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in cultural, informational and media sphere in a state. Second chapter describes a development of propaganda in years from 1945 to 1948 and propagandistic topics based on research of newspaper articles published in Rude pravo. At the end the study concentrates on a fact that those topics were given their specific form in particular campaigns in February 1948, when they were used for manipulating and mobilization of Czechoslovak and especially Czech citizens.
