Case report of physiotherapeutical care of a patient with scoliosis.
Váchová, Barbora Rosalie ; Sokolová, Eva (advisor) ; Dušánek, Tomáš (referee)
Author: Barbora Rosalie Váchová Title: Case report of physiotherapeutical care of a patient with scoliosis. Objectives: The main object is to report about problematics of scoliosis and to write down possible process of physiotherapeutical care of a patient with this diagnosis. Methods: The thesis consists of a general part and a special one. In the general one the spine scoliosis issue is processed via the recherche form. The special part was processed during the practise held in the Fakultni nemocnice Kralovske Vinohrady by the means of casuistry, formed when working with a female patient diagnosed with scoliosis. The casuistry includes intrance kinesiologic analysis, short-term and long- term therapy plan, suggestion of the therapy, process of the therapeutic units, output kinesiologic analysis and evaluation of the therapy effect. Results: After completing the therapy units the state of the soft tissues of the patient has markedly improved and thus to improve her motion stereotypes. Keywords: physiotherapy, case report, scoliosis, spine, sensomotor, idiopathic
Effect application of spinal braces for final treatment effect
Žižková, Kateřina ; Černý, Pavel (advisor) ; Mikšíčková, Petra (referee)
Title: Effect application of spinal braces for final treatment effect Objectives: The aim of this work is to present basic information about spinal brace therapy to correct congenital or acquired deformities of the spine and to evaluate the experience of conservative therapy. Method: I used the method of qualitative data collection from literature, published expert articles and journals. The information was reviewed in consultation with the supervisor Ing. Pavel Černý. Result: Brace therapy is a demonstrably effective treatment method. Results depends on the degree of curvature, on correction by the brace and the amount of time wearing a corset. For the patient it is more acceptable to apply the corset in a night-time regime on smaller curves (up to about 20 degrees Cobb). The patient is then not hampered in daily activities and also prevents the progression of the curves. Keywords: application, Cobb angle, corset, spinal brace, conservative brace therapy, spine, spinal deformities , mode
The growth of the spine in childhood and adolescence considering patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis
Tichá, Natálie ; Zemková, Daniela (advisor) ; Mařík, Ivo (referee)
The knowledge of normal growth parameters, mainly including total body growth, spinal growth and pubertal growth spurt, is essential in treatment of all patients with spinal deformities and it allows a better understanding of both normal and abnormal spine growth and of the pathologic changes caused by onset spinal deformity in a growing spine. Childhood includes changes both in body proportions and also changes in sexual development. Sexual maturation has very tight correlation to skeletal development. Bone age is an important parameter used in consideration of development and growth of the child, it relates to maximal growth rate in time of pubertal spurt. This thesis is focused on summary of findings of spinal growth in childhood and adolescence in order to predict spine growth in clinical practice. The thesis considers patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, which is the most common spinal deformity that affects children and adolescents.
Detection of rheological changes in the axial system of pregnant women using the TVS method.
Plačková, Veronika ; Jelen, Karel (advisor) ; Šorfová, Monika (referee)
Title: Detection of rheological changes in the axial system of pregnant women using the TVS method. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to evaluace the effect of pregnancy on the biomechanical properties of the spine. Methods: TVS vibration diagnostic methods were applied to six pregnant women twice during pregnancy. It was investigated ability of axial system to dampen vibration spreading through out the spine. The ability of every single segment to damp vibrations were compared with each other at the beginning and during pregnancy. Results: TVS method used for purpose of this paper has been proved adequate to provide information about the resonant frequencies and the total attenuation of the spine with sufficient accuracy, so that the biomechanice changes of axial system during pregnancy could be decidly identified. Comparison of the frequency dependency and total attenuation of spine indicated increase of total attenuation of the spine and also increase of flexibility of the spine in all investigated probands. Keywords: gravidity, pregnancy, axial system, vibrations, TVS, spine
Comparison in Frequency of Shoulder and Spine Injuries between 1 st National Volleyball Men's and Women's League Players
Vítová, Radka ; Vorálek, Rostislav (advisor) ; Buchtel, Jaroslav (referee)
Name of the diploma thesis: Comparison in Frequency of Shoulder and Spine Injuries between 1st National Volleyball Men's and Women's League Players Goal of the diploma thesis: Goal of this thesis is to determine frequency of shoulder and spine injuries within men's category of professional volleyball. Thesis also surveys types of prevention and regeneration that players use, how long they warm up and how they compensate strain before training (match) and after training (match). At the end thesis compares men's results with women's that are based on survey from this thesis and from bachelor work (Vítová, 2012). Method: Required data was obtained by questionnaire in field. Acquired data was processed on the basis of perused Czech and foreign literature that is focused on injuries and prevention in sport. Results: Overview of frequency of shoulder and spine injuries within men's and women's volleyball. Key words: volleyball, injuries, shoulder, spine, prevention
Kinematic of cervical thoracic spine in the context of whole body posture
Vláčilová, Ivana ; Šorfová, Monika (advisor) ; Tlapáková, Eva (referee) ; Ravnik, David (referee)
Title: Kinematic of cervical thoracic spine in the context of whole body posture Problematics: This work describes the kinematics of upper thoracic spine during specific movement of the shoulder girdle. The kinematic changes are evaluated with the relationship of the whole body posture. Aim: To develop the objective evaluation of the posture and the amount of the segmental spinal movement of cervical thoracic spine. To describe the relationship between the specific movement of arm - adduction and external humeral rotation - and the posture using 3D kinematic analysis. To objectify this tested movement as a diagnostic tool or a therapy for forward head posture. Methods: The theoretical part of this work summarizes the current knowledge of poor posture and there is defined the upright posture. The experimental part describes the measurement of the movement of shoulder girdle and its response to the axial system using 3D kinematic analysis. Result: The results of kinematic 3D motion analysis show that the external humeral rotation with adduction of the shoulder leads to the upright posture if there is the horizontal position of the thorax and pelvis. The posture was divided due to the physiological or pathological response with this simple movement. Conclusion: A new model for evaluation of the...
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Polytopic Vertebral Algic Syndrome of Cervical and Lumbar Spine
Vosátková, Marie ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Dušánek, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Polytopic Vertebral Algic Syndrome of Cervical and Lumbar Spine Summary: The aim of this thesis is to summarize theoretical findings about issue of vertebral algic syndrome and on this basis, elaborate the case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of polytopic vertebral algic syndrome of cervical and lumbar spine. The topics of theoretical part of this thesis are anatomy and kinesiology of the spine, exact definition of this diagnosis including etiology and pathogenesis, clinical symptoms, possibilities of investigation and treatment. The practical part is formed by case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of polytopic VAS of cervical and lumbar spine, which was elaborated during clinical work placement at Rehabilitation Clinic of Královské Vinohrady, University Hospital in Prague, in the term from 19. 1. 2015 to 13. 2. 2015. Keywords: vertebral algic syndrome, spine, case study, physiotherapy
