Barcode recognition system
Pribula, Wojciech ; Richter, Miloslav (referee) ; Petyovský, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes barcodes which are used in postal services. Specifically, it is concerned with Intelligent Mail Barcode, the GS1-128 code, the C128 code of Ceska posta (Czech Postal Services) and the QR code. The thesis attempts to analyze methods of encoding information into barcodes and error detection algorithms used for error correction during the decoding processes. Most importantly, there is described Reed-Solomon error correction in the QR code. There are presented and evaluated different methods of code detecting which are suggested by authors of various academic articles. The thesis also describes the method of creating test sets of images and proposed appearances of the scanning scene. Additionally, there are described algorithms for detection and decoding barcodes GS1-128, C128 and IMB in the image which was created during the work on this thesis. Finally, there is the evaluation of the percentage success of algorithms.
Logistic process leadership optimization in big enterprise
Přichystal, Tomáš ; Zatloukal, Miroslav (referee) ; Špinka, Jiří (advisor)
The Master’s thesis deals with logistics and resources monitoring area, which is inseparable part of every production oriented economic activity. It uses electronic monitoring systems for more effective dealing with stock records in a production company that has many stores. The monitoring utilizes modern technologies, that are burgeoning and finding its use in all branches of market.

Blaha, Tomáš ; Zvonek, Miroslav (referee) ; Fridrichová, Eva (advisor)
The subject of bachelor thesis is the design of handheld barcode reader. The work deals with the evolution and the current situation the market. The goal is to create a timeless design that respects the technical, ergonomic and aesthetic requirements.
The study of identification and control equipment for material handling in logistics
Vágner, Ladislav ; Pokorný, Přemysl (referee) ; Hloska, Jiří (advisor)
In the first chapter of the barchlor´s thesis focuses on differences and description of the most widely used barcodes and scanners. This chapter describes also newly developed barcode – bocode. The second chapter deals with the radio frequency identification technology. Next chapters are about a production technology of barcodes and explain the functioning principle and possibilities of their usage. In conclusion there is provided a comparison of one–dimensional barcodes, marking technology and types of lasers.
Evidence and time consumption analysis of individual operations during moulding
Škrabal, Ondřej ; Šeda, Miloš (referee) ; Poliščuk, Radek (advisor)
This work deals with economical production problem in particular mechanical service. The solution is based on capture of barcode, C# programming language and database engine MS SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. It provides the user with real results of per hour cost analysis in given process and it also offers recommendations for increasing profit based on analysis of measured data.
Development and publication of an application on Android platform
Plevka, Ondřej ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Šlajchrt, Zbyněk (referee)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to gradually familiarize the reader with the development process and publication of an application on the Android mobile platform. This is the practical part of this thesis. The application deals with the dynamic collections management based on barcodes or QR codes. Among other things, the application can communicate with a remote database on the web server. The gradual process of development as analysis, design and subsequent publication are described in the theoretical part of this thesis. The last part discusses the possibilities of promotion applications on the Internet.
Implementation of logistic technologies in food processing industry.
VIGH, Ladislav
Main goal of graduation theses is analysis possibilities to use logistic technologies in food company Fontea. This analysis is focused on material and informative flows in her logistic chain including analysis of key factors. These factors are important for implementation of chosen technologies. Subsequently were analyzed customer department, sales department, production department, purchasing department and shipping department. There were found several principal problems. Customer department staffs have a problem with finding actual quantity of manufactured finished goods, because up-dating of computer system is provided only once a day. Most of orders are inserted manually in computer system. Staffs are not able to find out charges of manufactured finished goods. Similar problems were discovered also in the next departments. To fix the problem were suggested implementation of Quick Response and automatic identification of barcodes and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).
Logistics applications in Research library in Olomouc
Vymazalová, Jana ; Pernica, Petr (advisor) ; Mervart, Michal (referee)
This master's thesis investigates the of logistics of Research library in Olomouc and offers improvements. I introduce the Czech library system and then concentrate on the Olomouc library's history and the operations of individual departments. I found that the depositories could be improved in aspects such storage and overall building condition. The library uses barcodes for loan administration. To introduce the options of improvements of the library, I describe new technologies that are in use abroad such as RFID tags or shelf stacker in the storage rooms. I believe that the efficacy of library operations would improve should they be concentrated in one building and offer further enhancements to the daily running of the library.
Use of RFID in logistics
Skála, Michal ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Basl, Josef (referee)
The Bachelor thesis focuses on two best-known technology automatic identification, barcodes and radio freguency identification (RFID). The goal is to acquaint readers with these technologies and describe a possible procedure implementating RFID to logistics warehouse. At the beginning of the work are presented theoretical information, that are important to understand these technologies. Using practical experience I am trying to outline the introduction of RFID to logistics warehouse. The main contribution of this work is to look at the issue of the implementation of automatic identification from another perspective, to introduce RFID technology, which expects a promising future and shows detailed analysis of the cost of RFID tag. The second chapter describes the most known bar-code technology, since its creation to the present. There are listed the most common types of bar codes and equipment used to scan bar codes. The third chapter focuses on RFID technology. It deals with different types of RFID systems in terms of functionality and differences between them. There are presented the equipment needed to run the system. The fourth chapter deals with the safety of RFID technology in terms of threats and understanding the reasons for the attack on the technology. The fifth chapter focuses on the analysis of prices of a particular RFID tag. It examines why prices are that high and how the price could change in the future. The sixth chapter describes a possible procedure for implementing RFID into the logistics of a particular stock. It includes a SWOT analysis, which highlights the strengths and weaknesses of this technology. The seventh chapter predicts the possible development and application of RFID in the future.
The rationalization of the flow of transport units among the company Continental Teves and suppliers
Voleníková, Štěpánka ; Pernica, Petr (advisor) ; Mervart, Michal (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the rationalization of the flow of transport units among the company Continental Teves CZ, s.r.o. and suppliers. The objective of the thesis is to map the flow of transport units, to suggest possible solutions and to pass judgment on a possible implementation of automatic identification that can facilitate monitoring of such marked transport units. The theoretical part of the thesis describes specifics of automotive industry and of supply chains that operate there.
