Costume as tool of resolve in "lived" and "staged" reality
Černíková, Marie ; TICHÝ, Zdeněk (advisor) ; PREKOVÁ, Jana (referee)
My dissertation focuses on the forms of costume outside the theatre. For its purpose I propose reflecting the western society at the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century as a form of staged (shaped by the abundance of dramatic narrative in media) reality. I discuss the role of mass media in relation to the spectator, e.g. visual and narrative codes effecting our own self representation.
Creative Confidence
Blechová, Eva ; CHRZ, Vladimír (advisor) ; ČUNDERLE, Michal (referee)
This thesis deals with the desire to create and how can the individual?s thinking about himself help to increase or decrease this desire, to keep it alive or let it die. In the tradition of qualitative research, I have conducted twenty-six semistructured interviews with creators and teachers of creative, in particular theatrical, disciplines. I analyse these interviews and propose classifications and models. These models are combined with my own experience as a creator and as a teacher, with relevant literature as well as with my own creative writing. Given the selected methodology, the text does not aspire to provide overall generalisation, but rather shows some principles that can be inspirational for creators and their teachers.
CREATIVE IMPULSES AND INDIVIDUAL OBSTACLES OF ACTING
Kaňkovský, Filip ; ULLRICHOVÁ, Daria (advisor) ; KUDLÁČKOVÁ, Jana (referee)
In this thesis master student presents rehearsed performances, which were in some way essential for him, and tries to discover the key moment in each of them, which meant another step in his acting experience for him. He describes the path from the first year of the Academy of Performing Arts to the engagement at the National Theatre Prague and wants to find out how does the stage work for him, what does theatre even mean for him and how are his personality traits reflected in his acting work. The student subjectively assess the importance of a link between active rehearsing and studies and deliberately pushes the theoretical knowledge of his future profession through viewed performances, which he considers equally important as just rehearsing and education.

THE SHIFTING OF PERSONAL LIMITS
Schmidtmajerová, Johana ; MIKEŠ, Vladimír (advisor) ; TRPIŠOVSKÝ, Lukáš (referee)
In this master thesis, creative process and the process of personal growth and their fusion are dealt with. The thesis is opened with associations and continued with thematic exploration up to reflections upon specific encounters and cooperation on theatre performances and other project that I have participated in as an actress. Through the unanswered questions posed in this thesis I constantly remind myself of the fact that acting is a process of constant searching, which, however, does not need to resemble blind stumbling through the unknown and in fact, in my opinion, it should not. In my work, I try to articulate what I have been able to uncover about myself and the creative process as an actress and so develop systematically in my profession, both through work on myself and within a group. I consider feedback to be a necessary step towards professionalism and an important contribution for shifting personal limits. This thesis is concluded with a reflection of my internship at the Portuguese Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa ? Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema.
Aspects of Authenticity in Acting
Neškudla, Pavel ; KROBOT, Miroslav (advisor) ; TOMÁNEK, Karel František (referee)
My diploma thesis Aspects of authenticity in acting examines the authenticity, nature, plausibility and truth in acting and performances or in other various forms of performing arts. All this is based both on my own experience and on theoretical, but not purely scholarly approach. However, this theoretical approach represents my own understanding without any ambition of theory redefinition. Diploma thesis examines, think and also submit claims. All these concepts are demonstrated on my acquired artistic activities and on creation which I was or still I am part of. The diploma thesis is also conceived as a look back, self-reflection, anchor and clarification of matters which of course involve my future and my artistic activities that are not mentioned in this thesis.
