Master B with the Die from the collection of National Gallery in Prague

The aim of this essay is an assessment of an anonymous engraver's work from the early 16th century whose monogram is a cube with a letter B. The essay is divided into two separate main units. The first enclosed unit includes texts helping us to create a partial picture of the Master's life. There are information dealing with a cultural environment and a technological development of the graphic art in the times of the Master's existence. The second unit is a char- acterization and a detailed analysis of selected pieces of work with an accent on the technologi- cal aspect of the prints. The creation of the Master's B of the Die life story was very difficult considering the lack of the literature. After a thorough search in libraries and on the internet not even one continu- ous text concerning directly this artist has been found. Incomplete information have been found only in collected encyclopaedias about art. For drawing-up at least a short life story accessible information about cultural environment of the then humanistic society have been used which are composed in a separate chapter. 99 Summary Buberův kulturní sionismus a Masarykův humanismus - komparativní studie Buber's Cultural Zionism and Masaryk's Humanism - Comparative Study Marie Venclová This thesis deals with various aspects of understanding the term nation, its roots and dimensions in the works of Martin Buber and Tomas Garrigue Masaryk. The comparative study is based on analysis of Buber's Three Addresses on Judaism and Masaryk's Problem of a Small Nation. In these texts the philosophers present their attitudes and ideas about the meaning, origin and content of the existence of a nation. The results of the comparison show, that their points of view are similar in more than a few aspects and what most importantly bonds their ideas is the moral, spiritual and cultural understanding of the meaning of a nation. Furthermore, they both stress the responsibility of each and every individual part of the society for implementing such ideas into practice. Buber's cultural Zionism as well as Masaryk's humanism are also concepts based on critical self-reflection and need of education, which serves to broaden horizons and identify positive values in one's own nation. Mythological subjects in the work of Lucas Cranach the Elder

This thesis deals with the production of Lucas Cranach the Elder. After the introductive encounter with the life of Lucas Cranach the Elder the emphasis is put on the mythological subjects with respect to their origin in historical sources and classical literature. The thesis also considers the different influences on Cranach's work in context with contemporary painters and humanism and presents the conditions mainly in the court of the Saxon Prince-electors where Cranach worked.

The seeds to the contemporary understanding of a child as a unique human being that deserves the highest degree of protection and care, were planted in the 17th and 18th century. The writings of the philosophers J.A.Comenius, John Locke and J.J. Rousseau have significantly contributed to this modern-era "turn toward the child". Using the background of individual scholars' opinions and ideas, the author is studying or noticing in what each of the thinkers sees the basis of uniqueness and irreplaceability of childhood.

Veleslavín´s Publishing Program and its (Non)realization in the Veleslavín´s Printing Office

Then we will compare it with the realization in his publishing activity (to the list of production of veleslavin printer in Bohatcová 2005). The target of this thesis will also be a critical inspection of the interpretation of Daniel Adam of Veleslavin as the main representative of popularised phase of the national humanism (see Kopecký 1962).
Nursing in the development of modern treatment methods for patients with atrial fibrillation

The current period is characterized by profound scientific and technological progress not only in the medicine but also in the field of nursing, which is now based more on scientific knowledge than ever before. Nursing as a science requires professionally trained nurses providing high quality nursing care. Therefore, the development of modern medicine, particularly in the field of cardiology, justifies the need to change the perception and status of nurses with respect to patient care together with strengthening the prestige and status of nurses in society. The main research intention of the dissertation was to determine how the nursing behaviour in connection with the procedure of radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFA) due to atrial fibrillation (AF) is perceived by nurses and patients, what is the impact of the RFA on the life quality of patients with AF, and what is the level of education in patients with AF. To meet these goals the research, the empirical part was divided into two phases. In the first phase, a non-standardized questionnaire was used, role of which was to assess the needs of patients with AF before and after RFA comparing baseline and 1 year follow-up data. In the second phase, which only examined the conditions 1 year after the RFA, a standardized questionnaire CBI - 24 (Caring Behaviour Inventory) was additionally used together with another form with questions investigating education of patients. Further data were obtained from nurses taking care for patients during the medical intervention. The research results show that quality of life of patients with AF before ablation was reduced. Patients´ most common problem areas included pain, physical and mental problems. Our research also showed that if we compared meeting patients´ physical and mental needs, meeting physical needs was evaluated better. Another area under consideration was the education of patients. Evaluated results showed the fact that education was focused on its content rather than its form. Evaluation of the perception of nursing care from the perspective of patients and nurses was the last part of the research. The results of the survey showed that nurses evaluated technical competence better than the humanistic approach to patients. It was also discovered that patients evaluated areas focused on performance of nurses better than creating a relationship of security and safety for patients. Finally, the results indicated that communication is also problematic area. We managed to meet the set goals and gain both theoretical and practical recommendations. Analyzing the results, we found out that there is a need to support humanistic approach in nursing care for cardiac patients, communication and education.
