GPR data interpretation with use of a combined geoelectrical survey
Široký, Jakub ; Tábořík, Petr (advisor) ; Valenta, Jan (referee)
GPR data interpretation is often difficult due to complex geological environments, reflections ambiguity and time-depth conversion uncertainty. Thanks to the geophysical fields interoperability it is possible to compare results of related survey methods. Radargrams from three model sites were processed and interpreted in an usual way to uniformly amplify all recorded reflections. Results were compared with ERT and EM (DEMP) data within integrated interpretation. GPR data interpretation was extended and new geological and geomorphological interpretations were uncovered. The GPR processing sequence was modified and simplified following outcomes from the integrated interpretation to ease different methods results comparison. Adapting a velocity model to precise time- depth conversion hasn't showed improvements. Key words: ground penetrating radar, electrical resistivity tomography, dipole electromagnetic profiling, integrated interpretation, integrated inversion, GPR processing optimization, sedimentary environment, velocity model
Using ERT and GPR in polygonal patterned ground analysis
Široký, Jakub ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Hartvich, Filip (referee)
Polygonal cryogenic structures cannot be investigated with conventional methods as they could be harmed during measurement. A real3D GPR and ERT non-destructive surveys were used to examine and prove applicability for topsoil covered ice-wedge pseudomorphs and coarse-grained sorted polygons (patterned ground). A list of processing tools and algorithm suitable for such environments was created and tested. The benefits of 3D measurements are illustrated on horizontal slices and pseudo3D visualisation of 3D Cube. Basic morphometry characteristics of both forms were collected. Abilities of geophysical imaging for advanced shape characterisations are discussed, too. The low-frequency measurements gave better results at both sites. Pseudomorphs, 2 wide and up to 6,5 long, were found penetrating depth bigger than 3,5 . Sorted polygons, 2,5 wide in diameter, were depicted locked by stony ring of width around 1 . Sorting depth extends up to 0,54 depth for sure, perhaps more.
Using ground penetrating radar in geomorphology
Široký, Jakub ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Engel, Zbyněk (referee)
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a non-invasive geophysical research method imaging subsurface structures. It expanded widely across geomorphologic investigation during last years because of its speed, low-cost, reliable and large-scale capability. GPR is especially useful in sedimentological studies. The thesis is focused on introducing the basics about the GPR method as it is not well-known in Czech geomorphologic scene. The physical background of the device and the electromagnetic waves is given. A research articles and books recherche helped in creating of a reflection summary amended with Czech terminology and graphic examples. The typical reflection answer of sedimentological features were documented and sorted according to the glacial, periglacial, fluvial, paleolake and slope geomorphologic environments. A sequence of steps for editing and interpreting a radargram was proposed and applied on three model radargrams.
Survey and Diagnostics of Building Construction
Slavětínský, Šimon ; Cikrle, Petr (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
The subject of this final thesis is the diagnostic survey of the prefabricated hall made of framed concrete in the areal of Fatra Chropyně. The thesis contains description of construction and technological survey and diagnostic methods. The practical part contains material assessing of chosen elements of construction (beam, column, precast floor slab). It is also focused on localization of position and diameter of reinforcement. Last step is focused on quality of the concrete, particularly compressive strength and strenght class of concrete.
Survey and Diagnostics of Building Construction
Resl, Jaroslav ; Cikrle, Petr (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the overview of the diagnostic methods for engineering surveys reinforced concrete constructions. The practical part explains engineering surveys of industrial building, evaluation of concrete strength on existing building and results from search reinforcements on individual elements. Next part is focused on load testing precast floor slab removed from construction and evaluation load capacity. The last part include structural design of elected parts (precast floor slab and beam).
Pulse Generator for GPR
Martínek, Luděk ; Dušek, Martin (referee) ; Šebesta, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the question of ground penetrating radar. At first it considers the electromagnetic field and its mathematical description. Then it covers measurement of electromagnetic pulses and their processing of sub-surface ground penetrating radar. . In this thesis is also described the involvement of pulse generator with several transistors operating in avalanche breakdown. Individual transistors are compared in time domain. The received waveform is then selected the best transistor for the final generator. Then is proposed solution for the final pulse generator and its implementation. For impulsive generator is also designed and constructed increasing the DC-DC voltage converter. Finally, it is necessary to measure the time behavior of the output pulse generator.
Ground penetrating radar – the one of the possible methods of valuing non-invasive plants is to use ground penetrating radar
Rychtář, Jan
The aim of this article is to introduce the possibility of using georadar-ground penetraiting radar „GPR“ in forensic practice for valuing plants. This non-invasive method can examine and evaluate the root system and tree trunks subjects. The results of the measurements are thus valuable material for Forensic ecotechnigue: forest and trees, especially subsystem C: functional diagnostics.
Survey and evaluation of building constructions
Balas, Ondřej ; Komárková, Tereza (referee) ; Heřmánková, Věra (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the description and evaluation of the status of existing reinforced concrete and of the prefabricated overhanging structures. The first part describes the solution overhanging structures, followed by a description of selected diagnostic methods for determining the properties of concrete in the structure and to determine the degree and extent concrete reinforcement. The main objective is to determine the status of overhanging structures on the case static analysis and critical points of the support structure for the purpose of the planned revitalization of the object.
Diagnostics of Reinforced Concrete Bridge
Rozbroj, Lukáš ; Anton, Ondřej (referee) ; Cikrle, Petr (advisor)
This thesis contains diagnostics of a reinforced concrete girder bridge in the municipality of Újezd u Brna. The aim is to conduct an inspection of the bridge, gather quality photo-documentation of defects and failures and design and conduct a diagnostic examination of such extent that would be necessary for judging the load bearing capacity of the bridge. The result of this thesis is the determined load bearing capacity and a proposal of measures required to keep the bridge functional.
The Architectural and Engineering Research of the Building Construction
Blaha, Jaroslav ; Heřmánková, Věra (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the diagnostic survey of the industry prefabricated hall. The thesis contains options of reinforced concrete diagnostic. Consequential conclusion judges material characteristics of the beam and roof girder. This thesis is focused on localizing the position and average of reinforcement in every single element. Next step is focused on quality of the concrete, particularly compressive strength and modulus of elasticity. The modern machines, like Hilti PS 1000 and Profometer PM-630, are used to localize the position and diameter of reinforcement. The quality of concrete is determined by removed bore core. Evaluation of material characteristics of the structure is in the conclusion.
