Novotný, Pavel ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Zamazal, Ondřej (referee)
It is estimated that more than half million people left in the exile during the communist period in the former Czechoslovakia. This work concentrates on sportsmen who emigrated at that lime and above all on development of the their reflection in media betwee n years 1948 and 1989. The work contains three parts. In the first one the author introduces the principle of communist propaganda and a way how the propaganda profited from emigration of the sportsmen for its own purposes The second part concentrates on the development of Czechoslovak press from 1948 till 1980s. The core of the work lies in the third part where the author creates. on the basis of the reserarch done on the press sample of the then popular all-state journals Rude pravo and Mlade fronta, an image of selected sportsmen - emigrants as it evolved throughout duration of the communist regime. Each case is introduced by a brief biography, in which the author puts the sportsmen career in the historic context. It is followed by a detailed description of media reflection in a specific period. In the conclusion the author compares individual cases and explains the development that the media reflection went through. The work is completed by a revised list of emigrated sportsmen and the images of selected journal titles are annexed that closely...

Half-automatic recognition of text structure
Šenkýř, Michal ; Skopal, Tomáš (referee) ; Kolman, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes the design and implementation of an algorithm that, using some initial hints from the user, converts data in HTML documents generated from a database and inteded for human readability, into a structured form suitable for computer processing. The input document is assumed to have some structure (usually a visual layout) and the user must provide a sample of semantically labelled items in the document. The output is expected to reflect the semantic structure of the provided data. The resulting application is composed of an editor part which includes a graphical tool for easy labelling of sample items, and a server part, which includes a tool for the subsequent mass processing of additional documents. The application was tested on real estate advertising webs and the results of the testing were analysed. The thesis also surveys other existing applications based on similar principles and provides their comparison.

Raška, Martin ; Kovaříková, Petra (referee) ; Sochor, Jaroslav (advisor)
ANALYTICAL DETERMINATION OF ACTIVE COMPOUNDS BY LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY II. The Preliminary Study of SPME Master's Thesis Martin Raška Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control, Heyrovského 1203, Hradec Králové This thesis deals with the issue of analytical determination of active compounds by liquid chromatography. It's specifically focused on determination of benzodiazepines in biological material by using solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). HPLC is one of the most important chromatographic methods today. Its main advantages are sensitivity, selectivity and speed of separation and creation of reproducible record. SPME can be described as a simple and effective sample preparation technique integrating sorption, desorption and concentration of an analyte. This technique is solvent-free and requires no use of a complicated apparatus. Its basic principle is the exposure of liquid or fluid sample to a small amount of extraction phase. The following chromatographic conditions were proved to be optimal. Methanol:water (80:20) was used as a mobile phase with pH value adjusted to 7.5, flow rate was 0.8 ml/min and detection wavelength was 254 nm. Polydimethylsiloxane fiber...

Government debt management practice in Central Europe
Martinec, Jan ; Brůna, Karel (advisor) ; Štork, Zbyněk (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to verify that the practises of debt management agencies in Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic are in accordance with the best practice based on international guidelines for public debt management. On the sample of Central European economies we can perceive new trends in public debt management that were enforced by growing public indebtness and its implications on fiscal health. These trends are particularly demonstated through proces of devoting the debt management institutions from the traditional position in the Ministry of Finance, through emphasis on achieving development of effective domestic securities market and the conception of long-term strategies based on risk management principles. From the comparison of the debt management practices in the selected countries it was possible to put forward a set of specific recommendations aplicable both to local and general conditions.

Cleaning Validation Procedures in Manufacturing of Liquid Dosage Forms
Koníková, Veronika ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor) ; Vachek, Josef (referee)
The thesis preamble introduces validations of analytical methods, as an important process during pharmaceutical development and quality control in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Method validation has essential influence on pharmacoeconomics and greatly shortens the time of placing the medicament to the market. The IMS principle greatly shortens analysis time, thus ensuring economic and innovation growth for pharmaceutical companies. Experimental part of this thesis was performed on the device IONSCAN - LS Smiths- Detection, USA in the branch of the Teva company in Opava, which introduces IMS to analytical procedures validation for cleaning validation in pharmaceutical manufacturing. For measuring, the Naphazolini nitras standard was used and the Teflon dry method was applied. During the method development itself, in which I participated, the method usability range was found in the interval of mass concentrations from 0,06 - 0,80 mg / ml. The detection limit at the level of 0.02 ppm and the quantification limit at the level of 0.08 ppm were determined and linearity was verified. In the second part, I validated the analytical method for cleaning process validation. Sampling was performed by means of polyurethane swabs "Large Swab" from a metal plate of surface size 5 x 5 cm2. From this equipment, a...

Diagnostic institution: yer or no? The influence of institutionausation on the character of the development of adolescents
Vostrovská, Zdeňka ; Pelikán, Jiří (referee) ; Vítečková, Michaela (advisor)
The principle theme of my thesis is an attempt at answering the question: To what extent does the Institution for Adolescents at Hodkovičky, Prague, fulfil provisions of applicable legislation, and whether the institution contributes to the development of the personalities of clients. From my previous experience as a night carer in this institution, I attempt to appraise the accomplishments and weaknesses of the institution, offering my opinions relating to potential changes in the area of effectiveness of work with clients. This thesis consists of two parts - a theoretical part in which is, amongst other things, specified the function of the institution, the role of the carer and types of client personality. At the same time it acquaints the reader with the function of the family and inappropriate styles of up-bringing and education, personalities and the possibilities of their development. The second part of my work introduces sample research during which I attempt, on the basis of hypothesis, to verify the main four functions of the institution as prescribed by legislation. Keywords (as described below) are those referred to in professional literature. Annexed to this work are attachments (questionnaires intended for use with clients for the purposes of sample research and the main principles of the...

Connection between notation and quality of consecutive interpretation
Svobodová, Petra ; Čeňková, Ivana (referee) ; Abdallaova, Naděžda (advisor)
The topic of notation, an important tool used in the process of consecutive interpretation, is discussed primarily in prescriptive works. Claiming that notes are a significant back-up for the interpreter's memory, the works suggest several principles that interpreters should observe in order to produce an optimal piece of notation. Nevertheless, detailed studies analyzing the influence of notes on the interpreter's performance are scarce. Many specialists have an unfavourable opinion of the possibility of an objective evaluation of interpretation quality; on the other hand, the interpreters' performance is subjected to day-by-day assessment by the market. In this area of research, it is difficult to carry out experiments and evaluation because of the small size of samples, unauthentic laboratory conditions and the individua! nature of both the notation and performance.
