Nationalization processes in Czechoslovakia 1945-1946
Kučerová, Alice ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Szobi, Pavel (referee)
In my bachelor work I shall address the situation of Czechoslovakia in the years of 1945 -- 1948 with focus on nationalization processes. In the first part I will outline the difficult political situation in the post-war time, the rise of National Front and the the slow accession of communists to the power, culminating in February 1948. I shall also point out the reasons which reorientated czechoslovakian foreign policy towards the SSSR. In the second part I focused on Beneš decrees, especially nationalization decrees. I shall also metion those that led to the punishment of Germans, Hungarians, traitors and collaborators. Furthermore, I will analyze decrees that led to nationalization of key industry, joint-stock banks and insurance companies. I will focus not only on their statutory texts and their discussion by the government, but also their economic and social effects. The aim of this work is to analyze nationalization decrees to the reader, since they are documents that influenced course of events in Czechoslovakia for the next fifty years.

Financing and subsidizing of small and medium enterprises
Hybler, Michal ; Zemplinerová, Alena (advisor) ; Mládek, Josef (referee)
Small and medium sized enterprises constitute an overwhelming majority of all companies in the economy. They are the resource of the growth of GDP, innovation and significantly contribute to the employment. Representatives of the European Union are aware of the important role which these companies play and they try to create the most convenient and optimal business environment. The small and medium sized enterprises are supported through institutions such as Czechinvest and the ČMZRB which receive funds from structural funds of the European Union and the state budget. In my thesis I made evaluation of the projects of the SME Finance Facility program under which subsidy and credit lines were granted to the ČMZRB and various leasing companies. Finance was provided from various european development banks and were intended to grant the loans and leasings with better conditions than loans and leasings from unsubsidized banks. Based on the results from the survey I came to a conclusion that the program was relevant only to a certain extent because companies had significant alternative opportunities of financing their investment projects.

Reflection of travels in the Zdeněk Matěj Kuděj's writing
Křenová, Kateřina ; Vaněk, Václav (advisor) ; Menclová, Věra (referee)
This diplom a thesis has two goals. One of them is to bring a compact biography of the Czech writer Zdeněk Matěj Kuděj (1881 - 1951), one of the representatives of modernism and a c10se friend to the writer Jaroslav Hašek. Despite intensive search I was not able to get any record or evidence of the whole Kudějs life. In the second part, the thesis covers the part of his work which was influenced by his travels, primarily those which took him outside Bohemia. Between years 1903 - 1909 he traveled the USA. He lived as a tramp and made his living as a casual worker. Experiences from this period were later described in couple of his books. In 1913 he spent almost a year in a prison of the tsarist Russia. Also this experience was reflected in his work.

Murry Rothbard a jeho přispění k objasnění Velké hospodářské krize
Sejček, Zdeněk ; Potužák, Pavel (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
There were many attempts to explain what exactly happened to USA?s economy between years 1921 and 1929. First and for many years the only one ?mainstream? explanation was that the main cause of Great Depression was underconsumption and overinvestment brought about by irresponsible customers and much more irresponsible investors. But there were also other explanations, based on totally contradictory conclusions and main cause of business cycles was found in state?s driven monetary expansion. Murray Rothbard?s explanation, based on Austrian Business Cycle Theory and developed in his book America?s Great Depression (written in 1963), is just one of them. In this book (despite of it has more than 300 pages) he advocates only one receipt how to avoid depressions: to stop FED?s power to inflate. Only this governmental agency, delegated by government to care about money and to expand money stock when necessary, can cause such big depression as Great Depression had been. Natural business cycle, less serious without compare, is organic part of every market and there is no reason to fight against it. But in the background with ever-present governmental attempt to do things better than something uncontrolled like market, business cycle changes itself to destructive long-term process that might take multiple more time to recover back to prosperous and healthy economic system. As Rothbard pointed out, all depressions without governmental interference were short-lived and self-adjustment process completed itself as rapidly as possible. The main ambition of my work would be to summarize Murray Rothbard?s work regarding Business Cycle and especially Great Depression and put it in context of Austrian Business Cycle Theory.

The Language of Filmic Dreams
Hasalík, Petr ; DAŇHEL, Jan (advisor) ; DOLENSKÝ, Martin (referee)
This thesis focuses on the language of filmic dreams, i.e., the means of expression used by filmmakers to create stylized dream scenes or sequences from the time of Georges Méliès to the present. Each chapter covers one decade and contains analyses of original dream scenes or sequences from two films from the respective period. There are also short synopses of all the analysed films that provide the context for the dream scenes or sequences and each dream scene or sequence is represented by two still frames from the film. At the end of each chapter, there is a list of films with dream scenes or sequences from the respective period, including the dominant means of expression used by the filmmakers, and also the films that do not use any stylization of dreams. The goal of this thesis is to provide a brief historical overview of films containing dream scenes or sequences with focus on the means of expression used by filmmakers throughout the history of cinema.

Reasons for U.S. veto in the United Nations Security Council on behalf of Israel, 1972-1997
Hlaváčová, Lenka ; Přikryl, Pavel (advisor) ; Halás, Matúš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to define the reasons of the U.S veto on behalf of Israel in the United Nations Security Council through analysis of the drafted resolutions. Author presents the resolutions vetoed by the U.S. on Israel in 1972-1997. The analysis focuses on four fields: who proposes the resoltutions, what is the subject of the resotutions, what language is used in the resultions, and what is the stance of the U.S. Representative to UN. Author states that the sponsors of the resolutions aren't relevant for the U.S. decision-making. Author rather supports the opinion that the language used and the intention to solve the Arab-Israeli Conflict by the UN SC are most probably the reasons for the U.S veto. The unbalancedness of the resoltuions (in the U.S. Understanding) is also one of the causes of the veto. U.S is refusing to condemn Israel in UN SC resolutions and it is trying to have the Arab-Israeli conflict solved by the parties involved and not by the third party who would impose the conditions of the settlement.
