The injured party in criminal procedure and his/her protection
Valíčková, Martina ; Jelínek, Jiří (advisor) ; Vanduchová, Marie (referee)
The injured party in criminal procedure and his/her protection- summary Martina Valíčková In my diploma thesis I would like to point out certain facts of an injured person and his/her position in the criminal procedure. I would like to sum up individual opinions and thoughts of some experts, outline possible solutions for some issues so that the injured person would not be out of the attention in the criminal procedure, but to be its fully-fledged participant whose interests are truly considered in the criminal procedure. In the introduction of my thesis first I deal with general issues. I define the concept of an injured person and damage, I outline specific cases, when the injured person's participation in the criminal procedure is excluded or limited. Last but not least is a short excursus presenting some of its rights and I also outline certain imperfections of legal regulation. This more or less general exposition of an injured person is followed by the chapter which describes the situation of literary processing. The third chapter concerns adhesion proceedings. For the injured person in context with his/her participation in the criminal procedure, compensation for damage is crucial, but surely it is not possible to limit the sense of his/her participation in the criminal procedure only to this extent....

Konečná, Petra ; Mlčoch, Lubomír (advisor) ; Hrušová, Ivona (referee)
UNIVERZITA KARLOVA V PRAZE FAKULTA SOCIÁLNÍCH VĚD Institut ekonomických studií Petra Konečná Ekonomie postsuverénního státu Bakalářská práce Praha 2011 Abstract In this bachelor thesis I focus on an influence of sovereignty to the economy of specific state. It defines what is understood under the term of sovereignty and describes various types of attitudes to the limitation of sovereignty. It presents historically attitudes of philosophers, thinkers and economists to this issue, focuses mainly on theories of natural law and emphasizes the conclusion of the social contract. It sets up possible division of sovereignty determined by limiting factors and it states several specific examples for illustration. In this thesis I show the necessity of perceiving economics in the context of other social sciences. I concentrate on taking advantage of position of post sovereign state by other economic participants through rent-seeking. I present new concepts of rent-seeking however some fundamental basis from classical point of view cannot be omitted without the loss of logic. At the end of this thesis I test an influence of composite indicators of governance on the rent-seeking behavior in the Czech Republic.

Characteristic signs of gifted and talented students in the data are identified and discussed. These discussions offer many impulses for teacher's work with gifted and talented students.

Ferenčáková, Lenka ; Rovná, Lenka (advisor) ; Pachta, Lukáš (referee)
Diploma thesis "Status of women in Turkey and changes in the context of European integration" deals with the situation of women's rights in Turkey and the reform process which has been accelerating under the accession negotiations with the European Union. It presents evaluations of the situation contained in reports by the European Commission and also implemented projects from the financial resources of the Union. From historical perspective and based on document analysis and realized interviews, of all the participants involved in improvement of women's status the thesis is primarily concerned with the women's movement as it still remains the most important agent in the ongoing process. The area of political decision-making mechanisms is examined in detail. General and country specific barriers for representation of women are submitted. In comparison with participation of women and adopted measures in other countries the thesis concludes that mandatory gender quotas of different types seem to be the most suitable tool to support the number of women and their interests. The paper also displays opportunities for further progress and obstructions to overcome in cooperation among all involved, and particularly between the movement and the EU, to achieve the desired result - gender equality in a potential...

Viewing the Holocaust through the Lens of Women's Memoirs
Doválelová, Jana ; Sokolová, Věra (advisor) ; Kiczková, Zuzana (referee)
This paper is focused on the analysis of women and the way, how they construct their experience of the holocaust. Three Czech women`s autobiographical texts are explored. The main analytical concern is gender as a concept which is negotiated within the categories of "power/lessness" and "survival strategy". The research is based on the modified usage of the method of narrative analysis which is originally designed for oral historical interviews. The aim of the paper is to break the "typical woman holocaust testimonial" and to explore different ways of construction of women`s identity as authors and at the same time the main characters of the memoirs. The author argues that gender order which the women participate on and which they also actively construct determines the topics being articulated in memoirs and how the women`s experience is being interpreted. The main emphasize is put on epistemological issues of autobiographical texts analyses and the concepts concerning the holocaust memory. Broad holocaust usage is used since the women as the authors of the memoirs apply the holocaust experience also on their other "life cycle stages". The whole paper is primarily based on sociological and historiographical context. Key words: gender, order, holocaust, identity, politics of memory, power, survival strategy,...

Karel Krejčí's Comparative Approaches in his Understanding of Czech and Polish Literature
Matějková, Veronika ; Janoušek, Pavel (advisor) ; Svatoň, Vladimír (referee) ; Trávníček, Jiří (referee)
The thesis documents and interprets the conflict between the literary discourses of the time on the one hand, and the specific approach of Karel Krejčí (1904-1979), comparatist, Slavist and Czech studies scholar, on the other hand. Based on the Krejčí's studies on literary history and comparative literature, as well as his participation in the methodological debates of his time, the thesis analyses the impact of this conflict on the author's literary theory method, and his work of a literary historian and comparatist in general. The analysis is based on the ambiguous reception of Krejčí's scientific work: while he is recognised as a great personality in the field of Slavic studies, he is considered an outsider in the general context of Czech literary science. The thesis describes how the author, with his methodological approach, was in opposition to the prevailing trend. As a Slavic studies scholar he criticised the 'influence science' and positivist methods employed in the field. In the period between the two world wars he inclined towards the sociology of literature, although this discipline did not become popular. While he was interested in phenomenology and formalism, he defended his 'historical-sociological' approach against structuralism, which was gaining ground. In the 1950s Krejčí wrote a...
