Teaching-space paradigm
Behro, Daniel ; Maršíková, Hana (referee) ; Sládeček, Svatopluk (advisor)
What should the current area of higher education be like? And what should be the space for creative work? Is the type of teaching reflected in the school building itself? I wonder if, for example, the Faculty of Social Studies would be made up only of social spaces? If the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering were to look like a hall for the production of automotive components, what would the Faculty of Legal Studies look like? And what about the Faculty of Architecture? Does the appearance and quality of the building determine the appearance of the projects created there? Does its structure affect the next generation of architects? Or should it be as clean and white as canvas before the first stroke of the brush is projected on it? I deal with both assumptions: the building as a pure paper, which gives freedom for creativity and does not limit the mind, and on the other hand, matter, structure, space, which shows what architecture can do. I prefer freedom of choice, which is why I want to describe both approaches in the proposal. Open-space free layout versus firmly defined closed studios. Artistic space, free versus technically and rationally defined space. Virtual space versus space of unchanging matter.
Renovation of the castle in Velké Němčice
Malínková, Valerie ; Muroň, Ivo (referee) ; Ležatka, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the restoration of a castle in Velké Němčice. The thesis builds on an architectural study carried out in the AG033 course of the Restoration of Monuments Studio. The task of the thesis is to create a complete project for the appropriate restoration and reconstruction of the castle and to propose its new utilization. At the same time, the thesis focuses on the solution of the castle's immediate surroundings. The object of the solution will be designed as a socially cultural object with administrative functions. The castle should serve as a new town hall, and in accordance with this, the following rooms will be created in the castle: a ceremonial hall, information center, mayor's office, secretary's office, registry office, accountant's office, archive, library, club room, refreshment facility, and interactive room. To achieve the implementation of the new operation in the castle, the correct restoration of the historical object is necessary. Using surveys and historical sources, I examine the architectural values and construction of the building. I strive to preserve historically significant layers, remove intrusive modern elements, and return the object its original expression. With the help of new technologies, I also strive to preserve the building for future generations. I propose minimum use of modern structures and elements, and therefore mainly focus on proper reconstruction and restoration.
Modern Art Gallery Brno
Vrána, Adam ; Teplý, Vladimír (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Králová, Zuzana (advisor)
The aim of the thesis was to create the individual degrees of project documentation – documentation for building permit and building design documentation on the basis of the study, processed in the subject AG32. The theme of the work is the modern art gallery in Brno. Location of the building is located at Kraví Hora, Veveří, Brno – the city. The Gallery, along with cafes and studios are fitted in the Park, which builds on the park Kraví hora. In and around buildings located on the Observatory, sports, gardening and swimming pool. The building is located on a sloping terrain towards the Southeast. The architectural solution comes from the blending of the paths that connect the vertices of the land. Those around the territory of the object on which the building is locked, the Gallery completes the Café. The floor plan of the Gallery is an irregular Hexagon, with dimensions of 41,23 and 27 m. Both buildings are buildings of unconventionally conceived. Material solution is a combination of concrete, steel and glass. Supporting system of the Gallery is along the perimeter formed by reinforced concrete walls with hanging corten facade and internal carrier system is the skeleton of reinforced concrete columns. The gallery is a two-floor deck and the Cafe is one-floor deck. Entry to the Gallery is accentuated by a glass wall. The Interior of the Gallery is formed by a glazed Atrium. The roof is flat on both objects. The facade of the Cafe is part of the exposed concrete and part of the glazing.
ASFALT IS LIQUID
Prokop, Tomáš ; Novotný, Jaromír (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
This installation is thematicly associated with my long term sold problems which is connected with loneliness, parting, leaving. I put the stress on the act of physical nearness which looks like a touch or contact but in fact it isn't so. Just this nearness generates inside tension. As you can see the installation is based on simple principles resulting from the abilities of a material. It is about two blocks of asphalt which spontanously produce a pressure on the glass. In this case the glass has the importance of imaginary dividing level which prevents a physical contact. A glass obstacle makes the fusion of the two asphalt blocks impossible. Despite a volatile character, asphalt will run down. The installation results from a human standard because the blocks of asphalt have a human proportion. I give the blocks a statute of beings who long for a touch but without success. The fusion is impossible.
