Structural-mechanical characteristics of the selected type of low-carbon steel after cold drawing and heat treatment

This bachelor's thesis focuses on changes in the mechanical properties of low-carbon wire that has been cold-drawn and subsequently heat-treated. Mechanical tests, from which the values of elongation, yield strength and tensile strength were measured, were performed on all samples within 24 hours after they were collected. Two different production rates were established on the hot dip galvanizing line to achieve different time intervals of the annealing process. The experiment was performed at all stages of wire diameter reduction, including the input material. This work also includes metallographic analyzes of samples that have been both polished and etched. The most representative samples were selected for analysis. The results show that deformation caused changes in mechanical properties and an increase in strain hardening, which was subsequently removed by heat treatment.

In this thesis, methods of effective aluminium powder oxidation are evaluated, such as oxidation at higher temperatures in atmosphere, anodic oxidation and oxidation during high-energy ball milling. It describes following treatment and methods creating volume sammples in such way, where ductile properties are preserved, but the process of hardening by aluminium oxide occurs.
Phase Transformations during Heat Treatment of Fe - C Materials

The goal of this thesis is a study of heat treatment of iron-carbon alloys from a physical angle. Characteristics of main components from this system and their modifications are described there. There is also described what is going on during heat treatment especially from an angle of thermodynamics and kinetics, thanks to available information from literature. The knowledge is applied on specific types of heat treatment of material and processes which can follow it.

Concerning the amount of content of this topic, this thesis is focused on general knowledge regarding the types, usage and development of cold arms, with mentioning some interesting and less known facts. It also contains deeper analysis of some chosen cold arms or key parts in their manufacture process.

This bachelor thesis briefly deals with the characterization of iron-based material and describes the process of steel production and raw material used in this process. In the next part, this thesis is about the history of damascus steel, the processes and methods of producing this type of steel and the properties it recieve through these processes. The next chapter discuss specific usage of this material nowadays and in the end it is about other materials that are often erroneously considered for a kind of damascene steel.

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to summarise information about development and basic description of individual parts of barrel firearms and appropriate use of materials for their production. The content of this thesis are also methods of surface treatment of the barrel rifling. In conclusion, the thesis describes weapon life and deterioration of barrel firearms.
Replacement of Armox Material

Material Armox, made by SSAB company, is most common brand of armour materials. However, there are other companies and brands which are achieving great technological and mechanical attributes. Objectives of this thesis are comparison of materials by technological, mechanical and economical point of view, considering and suggesting possibilities of Armox substitution. Sources of information for this bachelor thesis were manufacturers datasheets, consultations with Tatra Defence Vehicle, Vojenský výzkumný ústav and with providers of these materials. For each hardness class were found suitable materials. These materials can be, after testing, good substitution.
Thickness of sheet and hardness of welded joins

Theme of this bachelor’s thesis is to determine the effect of material thickness, laser beam power and the material itself on hardness of the weld joint created by laser welding of construction steels. In addition to description of welding technology, this thesis also includes description of the undertaken experiment and its results which include photographs of microstructure from all weld joint zones and photograph evaluation.
