A Twilight of the Welfare State? Pre-Crisis, Crisis and Post-Crisis Development Trajectories of the Welfare State in Sweden

In the long term the issue of the welfare state is one of the most debated political topics and it concerns almost all members of society. In the last few decades the advanced welfare state has been more frequently perceived as an obstacle for competitiveness in the globalized economy and issues of its economic sustainability and societal impact are widely debated. Sweden is generally considered to be a country with the most advanced model of welfare state, but it is also a country which suffered from a deep economic crisis in the early 1990s. Development of the Swedish model of welfare state in the context of the crisis presents a critical case for assessment of welfare state vitality. In this thesis, welfare state is defined as a multidimensional phenomenon that includes both social expenditures and institutions of social policy and power structures and legitimacy. For analyzing of transformations of the Swedish welfare state in all four dimensions is applied a theoretical perspective based on the power resources theory, the institutional approach, the transnational perspective, the dependency and the world-systems theory which whose complementarity is theoretically substantiated. Analysis of advertising in Czech PC gaming magazines 1998 - 215

In my work I analyze advertising income in computer gaming magazines Score and Level from August 1998 to January 2015. I find this topic interesting for two reasons: first, I was a longtime reader of both these magazines and second, I worked in one of them for quite a time. My work consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I will try to describe the economic situation accompanying the period under review, including the global economic crisis of 2008-2009. I will try to summarize its origin and impacts on the Czech economy as well as the history of gaming journalism in the Czech Republic. In the practical part of the thesis I try to analyze by means of qualitative - quantitative analysis the advertising income in both monitored magazines during the monitored period. Based on the outcomes of this analysis, I will try to draw a context with which it would be possible to evaluate the approach of both magazines to the impacts of the economic crisis and to determine which of them managed to deal better with the crisis.
The position of the young generation on the labour market in the Czech Republic and Spain after 2007

The thesis deals with the unemployment of young people in two selected EU countries, namely the Czech Republic and Spain. The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the position of the young generation in the labor market in the selected EU countries and their comparison. The partial objective is to evaluate the currently used tools of active employment policy, identify barriers to implementation and propose possible solutions to unemployment of this target group in selected countries. The analysis focuses not only on the overall unemployment rate of the monitored age category, but also on the development of the number of unemployed by type of education and sex. Last but not least, information is also provided in relation to the unemployment rate in individual NUTS 2 cohesion regions in the above countries. The reference period is between 2007 and 2017.
Greek Media System

This master's thesis deals with the Greek media system and its specifics, describes the media landscape of Greece and its transformation influenced by the economic crisis. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of the media system and to the description of the development of its research with special focus on the publication Four theories of the press written by Fred Siebert, Theodor Peterson and Wilbur Schram and the Comparing Media Systems written by Daniel C. Hallin and Paolo Mancini. In the practical part, the historical development of the Greek media market is described, followed by a description of the contemporary media landscape of Greece. The thesis focuses on print media, radio broadcasting, television broadcasting and digital media including social networks. The ownership structures of the Greek media are also characterized. The master's thesis also deals with the legislative framework of Greek media and self-regulation principles. In the thesis the impact of the economic crisis on the Greek media market is analyzed and the future development of the Greek media is aniticipated. Development of the automotive industry in context of the post-crisis period

The main of this bachelor thesis is to analyze and evaluate Czech automotive industry after an economic crisis and compares car industry in the Czech Republic, Poland and the Slovak Republic. The theoretical part explains history of the Czech automotive industry and state of the automotive industry in the EU and in the world. They are also described two industrial zones, which have created as a result of foreign direct investment and give space to build new car factory in the Czech republic. Causes of the economic crisis are described at the end of theoretical part. The practical part describing Czech automotive industry during reference period. Then are analyze individual car factory and describe development during and after economic crisis and explain the causes of changes in production and other selected indicators. The end of the practical part compares automotive industry of the Czech Republic, Poland and the Slovak Republic based on produced passenger cars, number of employees and number of new registered passenger cars.

The goal of my project is to figure out strengths and weaknesses of doing business in Russia and thus, overview economy of the country as a whole. Explore possible ways of development of the Russian Federation and conditions for healthy functioning of the economy. From my bachelor thesis I found out that doing business in Russia has improved over the recent years, but the economy still has a number of disadvantages and structural reforms are needed to overcome these problems and promote economic growth in the country
The impact of the economic crisis on the difference between the effective and statutory tax rate in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis on topic The impact of the economic crisis on the difference between the effective and statutory tax rate in the Czech Republic deals with the issue above the nominal and effective tax rates on corporate income during the economic crisis, specifically between years 2006 and 2015. The thesis deals with the causes of these differences between rates during each year of the crisis, and there is also comparison among the Czech Republic and European Union countries. First the work mentioned problems related to the last economic crisis, not only globally but also in terms of the Czech Republic. The following is a basic characteristic of the tax on corporate income, the share of total taxes over the years and the most important changes in the Law on Income Tax in the Czech Republic in individual years. In conclusion there is displayed the development of implicit and statutory tax rates and an analysis of the differences between these two rates.
Analysis of the currency crisis in Russia

This bachelor thesis describes the financial crisis in the Russian Federation, which happened in 2014. The theoretical part covers the necessary general information concerning the financial crisis: the definition, the causes of the origin and the general theoretical models of the crisis. This section also describes two types of crisis indicators, more specifically deals with modern indicators and generalizes the effects of the currency crisis on the economy. The analytical part focuses on the analysis of the financial crisis in compliance with the theoretical part. In addition, the author performs an econometric analysis of the change of exchange rate change on the change of modern indicators and conducts a regression model. In conclusion, the author summarizes the impact of the recent currency crisis on various areas of the Russian economy.
Analysis of export and import of the Russian Federation

This bachelor thesis deals with analysis of export and import of the Russian Federation between 2005-2015. The primary objective is to analyze the factors affecting the foreign trade of Russia and to evaluate their consequences. The analysis shows the low diversification of Russian export, the dependence of foreign trade on exports of crude oil, petroleum products and natural gas. Furthermore, the dependence on oil prices, world and domestic GDP is identified. During the study of dependence, the statistical methods are used, which are correlation and regression analysis. The theoretical part devoted to basic concepts, description of importance and functions of foreign trade, theories of external economic relations. In the second chapter a comprehensive analysis of commodity and territorial structure of foreign trade is carried out. The importance of foreign trade for balance of payments, GDP creation and foreign exchange relations is determined. The third chapter is more focused on revelation of trends influencing both exports and imports. The final fourth chapter focuses on the empirical analysis of the export and import of the Russian Federation.

The theme of this Bachelor thesis is analysis of the impact of the financial crisis on the Valbek EU a.s. The first part is focused on causes and consequences of the economic crisis, the situation of companies in the Czech Republic during the crisis and the situation in the construction sector. The thesis also mentions anti-cyclical fiscal policy and steps, which the Czech Republic goverment made during this period. The last part of the theoretical part focuses on the risks in the construction sector, more specifically on economic and financial risks. The practical part is focused on the analysis of economic and financial risks by ratio indicators. The aim of my work is to analyze the possible risks (as a manager of the company) during the financial crisis and to compare the impact on companies from the Valbek EU a.s. holding in the Czech Republic and Slovakia Republic.
