Analysis of the Pontifical Missionary Societies' Activities in the Czech Republic

The aim of the thesis "Analysis of the Pontifical Missionary Societies' (PMS) Activities in the Czech Republic" is to determine to what extent the activities of Czech PMS are truly missionary. First, basic terms are defined: mission, charity, humanitarian aid, and development assistance (Chapter 1). What they all have in common is caring for others; charity and mission have religious motivation and are carried out by the Church, whereas humanitarian aid and development assistance are matters of a secular state (though in everyday use the terms are often confused). Charity, i. e. selfless help to those in need, does not have a religious goal, it is not an instrument of evangelization unlike mission, whose aim it is to proclaim the Gospel (Chapter 2). Mission lies at the heart of the PMS on a worldwide scale and for this purpose they were established: Society for the Propagation of the Faith 1822, Society of the Holy Childhood 1843, Society of St. Peter the Apostle 1889, and Missionary Union 1916 (Chapter 3). Since their renewal in the CR in 1993 the Societies have developed a wide range of membership forms and activities, and collection yields have grown tenfold (Chapter 4). Title: The analysis clubs in Mattoni NBL and their work with fans Objectives: The main objective of the work is, how the clubs work with their fans. The thesis also shows the marketing of the clubs, marketing mix, promotion, promotion actions and fan base. The data, which I recieved from the clubs, I compare and analyse. From this data I deduce conclusions, which can improve communication and the presentation of the clubs to the public and can help improve attendance. TV-Charity in the Czech republic

This thesis is a case study, which is focused on relationships and forms of cooperation between non-profit organizations doing charity, and Czech Television. The main methods of data gathering in this work are semi-structured interviews with selected stakeholders. One respondent from the Czech TV and five representatives of different NGOs participated in the research. According to the theory of agenda-setting and the concept of gate keeping the aim of this study is to find out how NGOs get on the TV screen. Part of this thesis is devoted to the specification of various form of cooperation between Czech television and different non-profit organizations. Also there is an an assessment of the current situation from the perspective of both sides. In the final summary there are the crucial findings and discussion devoted to problematic issues in the cooperation of Czech Television and nonprofit organizations.

Parish Social Works in the Czechoslovak Church from 1920 to 1955

STOLETÍ PARISH SOCIAL WORKS IN THE CZECHOSLOVAK CHURCH FROM 1920 - 1955 Autor: Františka Tichá In this work, I pursued the parish social works in the Czechoslovak church from its rise to 1950's. I partially captured an origin of the roots of the Christian church's social works in chapter two. Chapter three describes the rise of the Czechoslovak church and its social works development. The views of some of the Czechoslovak church's theologians on social concerns are captured in chapter four. Chapter five analyzes the social works in three selected parishes. In chapter six, I explained how the Czechoslovak church's teachings were implemented in parishes. Chapter seven discusses the downfall of the social works within the Czechoslovak church after February 1948. In conclusion, I have arrived at an opinion that the social works unions laid out an admirable effort in this field. It is unfortunate that due to the political changes in 1948 the social works unions had to undergo a liquidation.

The Activity of Caritas in Archdiocese of Prague between 1989 - 2009

Submitted thesis describes charitable activity in Christianity and its history as well as charitable activity in other religions. Thesis focuses mainly on research and the analysis of Prague archdiocese charitable activity within years 1989 - 2002 of available information. Paper presents findings that result from the analysis of charitable activity within areas of social work, humanitarian aid and above all development co-operation. In diploma thesis, we described various fulfilments of supportive development projects, especially the most conspicuous and the most significant participation in development activity -on project Remote adoption. The significance of this activity between years 1993 - 2009 reflects its results. Submitted paper qualifies results of analysis and determinates further possibilities of given problem`s examination. The basic purpose of thesis is on the basis of gained results, pointed on significant contribution of Prague archdiocese charitable activity not only within Czech Republic, but also in foreign countries. Moreover, the practical importance of thesis is seen as a feedback on complexity, range and variability of Prague archdiocese charitable activity for reader, other institutions as well as for Prague archdiocese itself.
