Spirituality Ostrava !!!
Obr, Patrik ; Mikulášek, David (referee) ; Štěpán, Marek (advisor)
The diploma thesis is the proposal of the Christian community and spiritual center near Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Ostrava Kunčičky. The building program corresponds to the catchment area of Kunčičky and includes an existing church building (conversion for the contemporary liturgy) with the addition of a new parish with a living space, a parish office and a meeting room. The existing building of the parish (adaptation for commercial use, bistro and offices) and the community center includes: a social hall with the necessary background, 2 flats 1 + kk and apartment for collective accommodation, clubroom and classroom for leisure activities, music, art workshop and warehouse. Part of the area is new square as the new centre of Kunčičky, the park and green area "open garden" with a children's and sports playground. The proposal is based on the creation of a new public space in the vicinity of the existing church. The pre-church is widened and creates a new square, the center of the city with the potential of meeting, landmark, festivities, Christmas markets, etc. On the contrary, the community center is behind the church and creates a new public space "open garden". Around it all community events are concentrated. Among these spaces is a "filter" set, as a soothing element of two poles. The complex offers people from this locality also a wide range of the city, a new offer of cultural, social and spiritual activities.
The Rehabilitation of the historical center and adjacent surroundings of Kyjov with a focus on the public space
Kratochvilová, Jana ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the construction and activation of the territory in connection with the historical center of Kyjov. Part of the proposal was to work with an existing urban brownfield and an extensive park, which accounts for almost half the area under consideration. The goal, as I set out in my work, is to activate the territory and design an urban sprawl with a suitable functional structure. The proposed design respects the context and character of the site in a modern and sustainable manner. The principles followed in my work are based on the current urban and city-forming rules. I have put an emphasis on the human scale, the priority of pedestrians over traffic, and especially the shortcomings and needs in the territory that arise from the analysis. The draft concept is based on the permeability and interconnection of the individual parts of the city, the insertion of a new public space and the completion of the city block. The new urban sprawl clearly defines the street, completes the boundaries and makes the most of the area on the released land. The newly designed buildings are residential and multi-functional houses with active parterres. Part of the proposal is the revitalization of the city park, which explores its hidden potential. The basic step is to remove obstacles in the permeability of the park and to highlight its strengths, such as the flowing river Kyjovka, healthy large trees and the size of the park itself.

Havlík, Jiří ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of sacral space of Brno-Líšeň, where there is a request to build a church as a part the Salesian Center. Part of the problematics was the construction of the Parish house and the Community house as a part of the church mentioned above. The plot is situated at the site of the southern slope between Horáková and Molákova Street and in close proximity of the Salesi center. The project is conceived as a progressively graduating spiral rising from the mass of the community house to the sculpture of the cross at the tower of the church. Visually both building are separated from the north side but are partially connected thanks to the underground floor from the south side. The building of the community center shall be a three-story building. The design of the church itself is based on the centralization of space and due to progressive gradation to the center of the building, where all the events associated with the Christian year take place. The complex serves both as a place where the widespread society can fulfill their spiritual needs as well as a sanctuary of the Salesian community, where they can fulfill their mission.

Thesis work WORLD OF ASYMMETRICAL RESPONSIBILITY develops the original racional concept concentrated on human existence, which was broken by the FACE OF THE OTHER MAN by Levinas. Using analogy we take human FACE AS THE CENTER OF MAN, his body center. The FACE moves forward and has a never ending range. Its potency and vital power calls for further research. Rule of law of asymmetrical responsibility standing for THE OTHER MAN and everyone with a character of unique choice are covered in this thesis work. The contribution into philosophy of education will be seen in restoration of original conception of theoria. Novum to asymmetrical responsibility and its origin are touching the conscious practice deriving from universal FACE. Namelees universal FACES with their own seals form the WORLD OF ASYMMETRICAL RESPONSIBILITY. The diploma thesis called 'the concept of referendums in democracy: a comparison of the Scottish and Catalan models', deals with the question of referendum in democracy which is an instrument for countries to become independent. The referendum is correctly known as a constitutional referendum. This thesis also deals with the application of a constitutional referendum in the cases of Scotland and Catalonia. The main purpose of this research is to analyse the conduct of the Scottish and Catalan referendums for independence, both of which were held in the autumn of 2014. The paper looks to identify the similarities and differences between these two examples. Both cases are based on seven variables in the research of referendums: 1) constitutional framework for holding a referendum of independence, 2) identification of the basic political process leading to a referendum, 3) organizational-administrative regulation of a referendum, 4) issues during the referendum campaign, 5) opinion polls for the referendum, 6) results of the referendum and 7) predicted consequences of the referendum. The final purpose of this thesis is to assess how these two models reflect on the current constitutional practice in a democratic society.

ResPublica/Civitas Socialis - Strachotín
Horňasová, Tereza ; Nový, Alois (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The theme of the diploma thesis is based on conclusions of the pre-diploma thesis which tried to find lost potential of the village Strachotín and outline its possible development. Strachotín is located in a major wine region. Therefore, the potential of the municipality is mainly in wine, tradition and tourism. The stragedy builds on these potentials and creates two main themes. I live, I discover. The living factor represents inhabitants of Strachotín and the possibility of housing, work and recreation. The discovering factor represents traditions and tourism. The key theme becomes a village square. This is primarily a place for local residents, but also a place for the municipality to represent and support tourism. The village square is the most important part of the village, but the current state of affairs is not the case. Village square lost its identity thanks to inappropriate placement of objects and their functional use. The design tries to clean the village square from objects that are not functionally and aesthetically suitable. Objects that remain in the proposal are a municipal house and former school. They have a historical position here. The proposal adds a new object that combines and complements functions that have been missing or lost in the village in the original solution. The newly created public space creates not only a place for the inhabitants of Strachotín, but also a new tourist destination.
The Final Externalization of the Others and its Consequences for the Turkish Foreign Policy
Chvátal, Viktor ; Střítecký, Vít (advisor) ; Ditrych, Ondřej (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of Turkish Foreign Policy (TFP) towards the sub- regions of Central Eurasia (the Middle East and Central Asia) in the period between 1991 and 2010. Theoretically, this thesis combines a modified version of social constructivism with the assumptions of critical geopolitics. Interconnecting social constructivism with the Foreign Policy Analysis (FPA), this thesis targets the domestic level of analysis. Therefore, the ideational background of the decision-makers is examined. Although, the potential impact of the identity variable on the TFP articulation is investigated after 1991 only, the genesis of the long-term identity conflict within the Turkish (Ottoman) society is also included in the analyses. Given the geopolitical part, this thesis draws upon the basic critical insight that the geopolitical argumentation is based on discursive rather than material factors. The aim is to identify the geopolitical metaphors which had been, in the examined period, applied while dealing with the above mentioned sub-regions. At this stage, the theoretical approaches are logically synthetized and the genesis and usage of the geopolitical metaphors is examined in relation to the identity of those who formulated them. This diploma thesis proves that the identity conflict...
