The face is afoot. Depiction of Sherlock Holmes in the Czech lands

The subject matter of this bachelor thesis is the evolution of depiction of Sherlock Holmes in the Czech region in book illustrations, comics, theatre and film. This thesis examines today's image of this fictional character and shows how this image has been created. It focuses on the subjects which make Holmes easy to recognize and explains when and how this objects were inserted into Holmes's world. Thesis analyzes periods of history in chronological order. First, it shows how Holmes looked in the novels of Arthur Conan Doyle and in the original English illustrations and dramatizations. Consequently, it analyzes this evolution in the Czech region from the first translations of Doyle's novels to the present day. The task of this paper is also to collect and to create list of every Czech depiction of Holmes that can be found.

Podpora procesů, probíhajících v hotelech, pomocí moderních informačních technologií

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá informačními technologiemi, které slouží k automatizaci hotelového provozu a k podpoře hotelových procesů. Práce se zabývá nejen hotelovým software pro zlepšení úrovně služeb, ale i hotelovým hardware pro vylepšení hotelového vybavení. Také je objasněno, proč dnešní hotely potřebují zvláštní hotelový informační systém, jak probíhá implementace hotelového systému a porovnává rizika a výnosy investování do hotelových informačních technologií. Cílem tyto práce je seznámit čtenáře s fungováním informačních systému v hotelu. Aby práce nenosila popisný charakter je, doplněna o případovou studii, kde se na příkladě hotelu názorně se ukazuje, jak se zavádí hotelový informační systém do provozu, jak následně funguje a rozebírají se možná rozšíření systému. Přínosem této práce je pohled do historie a na základě toho vysvětlení dnešní reality na trhu hotelových informačních systémů. Práce je velice komplexní podle zkušenosti, z oboru informačních technologií a cestovního ruchu, analyzuje dnešní vývoj a budoucnost hotelových informačních systému. V této diplomové práce je ukázáno, jak prospěšná bude vzájemná kooperace sektoru zakázkového vývoje informačních systému a sektoru poskytování hotelových služeb. Aby tento cíl byl splnit, práce poukazuje na trendy vývoje cestovního ruchu ve světě a také na to, jak informatika ovlivňuje tyto trendy. Proto jsem práce je rozdělená do následujících pěti kapitol. 1. Hotelová informatika (definice a specifika) 2. Podpora hotelových procesů pomocí moderních technologií (hlavní a podpůrné procesy) 3. The local fees in the Czech Republic

My diploma thesis aims to assess the planned amendment to the law on local fees and show the changes that have to occur. The planned amendment changes slightly rights and responsibilities of the municipality in the implementation of local taxes. In my diploma thesis we deal in detail with two kinds of charges - local fee for spa or recreational stays and a local charge of accommodation capacity. Rating of planned amendment preceded by analysis of the municipalities that collect those fees. I am focusing on the revenue side of their budgets. The first two chapters are theoretical. I generally describe how the law in Czech Republic influences the structure of public administration and how it prepares the budget of the municipalities. They are characterized by certain local fees and their legislative framework. The practical part is devoted to analysis of two local taxes in 10 selected municipalities and their final share in nationwide revenue from local taxes. The final part evaluates the planned amendment, indicates and shows possible problems that could occur in the future.

Integration of cross-cutting curriculum Man and the world of work into educational system in economic fields of education

The dissertation is focused on cross-cutting curriculum Man and the world of work in economic fields of education and its integration into the educational system. The theoretical part is devoted to information on the general and school education programs, cross-cutting curriculum Man and the world of work, its history and its inclusion in school curricula and teaching. The practical part is aimed to analyze the completed achievement tests and questionnaires by students of business academies and interpretation of the results with subsequent own proposals for the integration of cross-curricular curriculum Man and the world of work into the educational system in economic fields of education.

Attention in preschool children

English abstrakt The main task of the thesis is to identify and measure the attention of children of preschool age. It is divided into two parts. Theoretical part, which is devoted to the definition of attention, provides a comprehensive overview of the history beginning with the issue, describes the different types, characteristics, attention disorders and conditions affecting the attention. An integral part is a description of the preschool child and work with children of preschool age. The second part of the research, then engaged in empirical research with preschool children. Children in kindergarten were placed on various characteristics of the tests of attention. These tests were then evaluated and processed. Were investigated differences in tasks between children and between the three established groups of children Bachelor thesis aims to answer the question, what are the differences between the four-year, five year old and six year old children and compares the performance and level of awareness among different groups of children. Touristic Club by the School of Jaroslav Ježek - leisure activities of children with visual impairment

A Touristic Club for Children with Visual Impairment by the School of Jaroslav Ježek operates with minimal changes for a few decades. The goal of the Club is to organize and support leisure activities for children with visual impairment throughout the year. The activities are supported by volunteers, mainly students. The goal of this thesis is to describe the activity of the Touristic Club and to find out its benefit for children with visual impairment. The knowledge about development of children of primary and secondary school age is summarized in the first part of the thesis, where the main stress is put upon their needs and importance of peer groups. The thesis deals with leisure time and leisure activities of children with visual impairment. Possibilities of leisure activities are introduced as well as organizations which provide them. One chapter is dedicated to the Touristic Club for Children with Visual Impairment, its history, tradition and contemporary situation. The benefit of the Club was surveyed by a questionnaire. Based on the results of the survey, the participation in the activities of the Club is an unforgettable experience for the children. Leisure activities for children with visual impairments deserve further focus.

Estimates in mathematics at basic school.

This diploma thesis called Estimations in Mathematics at Elementary School is created as an auxiliary teaching material. It acquaints the readers with the concept of mathematical estimation and presents its basic divisions. It also provides graphic instructions how to make estimations and it contains plenty of problems which serve as a systematic practicing and training of the ability of estimating. In addition, the form of individual problems shows spheres in which estimating is convenient to develop. At the end of the work there are presented research-oriented problems with the need of estimation.

Preparedness of primary school teachers for environmental education

This bachelor thesis examines the preparedness of primary school teachers in the South Bohemia for environmental education. This readiness is thinking of competencies for effective administration and coordination of environmental education, not stint the teacher's knowledge. The theoretical part describes the development, challenges and diversity of methods of environmental education in the Czech Republic. The practical part focuses on the analysis of the education plan (SEP) and primarily qualitative analysis of the responses of teachers gathered through a questionnaire, which contained 6, mostly open questions. Based on the evaluation of these responses were determined and defined three groups of teachers of differing competencies and thus preparedness for environmental education. Further it has been verified overwhelming satisfaction of teachers with internet and levels of educational programs, training and seminars, provided primarily by NGO´s and several government agencies in the region.

Management of a film festival and its specifics

This Master thesis explores the area of film festivals. The first section describes the film festivals and their categorization. For a better comprehension of the issues part of the work is dedicated to the general and Czech history of film festivals. The work is focused on the interest groups and their impact on the functioning of film festivals. The current situation is analyzed through a selected case of the International Film Festival Karlovy Vary. All program activities are analyzed. The work describes the processes that take place during the organization of the film festival and also explores its internal and external conditions. It presents the structure of the organization team and summarizes responsibilities of its positions.
