Konvertor Word-to-LaTeX
Kebrt, Michal ; Kopecký, Michal (referee) ; Skopal, Tomáš (advisor)
This work is devoted to Word-to-LATEX program that converts documents written in Microsoft Word into LATEX format which is suitable for typesetting books, manuscripts, scientiffic articles, etc. The program can be customized so much that it enables to produce completely different output formats (e.g. XML). In this work I also tried to compare text processors and LATEX format and emphasise their pros and cons. The Microsoft Word object model is briefly described, its problems and limitations are also covered. Finally, the way of improving performance of applications that automate Word is suggested.

HOUSE ON THE EDGE – Valašské Meziříčí, Sokolská Street
Zabadalová, Kateřina ; Mutina, Petr (referee) ; Jura, Pavel (advisor)
The designed building is based on the original historical buildings and the scale of adjacent historic center. The plot, on which originally were several independent row houses, by its size greatly exceeds the scale of surrounding buildings. Land is transversely divided into seven parts, which are based on the original allotment of the land. The mass of the object creates a complete town house, whose scale corresponds to the surrounding buildings. From the height perspective, the house is divided into three and four storey. Individual parts by its dynamic shifting give rise to large area of glass shop windows in the parter and also allow to illuminate the object from the west and east side. The existing car parking enables a pedestrian passage from the center to the adjacent residential buildings on the south side. For this reason, at the busiest pedestrian routes there are free passages through the parter. They are also used as a sheltered entrance to the individual parts of the apartment house. The entrance to the underground garage from the street Polášková is due to good infrastructure. Supplying of the neighboring object is preserved in its current form, as well as the shop windows. Parterre, thanks to the overall glazing, relieves the house, creating a clear division between public and private part and become part of the street. Areas created by the division of the object extend the street and form a diverse corners for people passing. The individual flats themselves are defined by the shape of the mass itself. They differ both in size, shape and orientation. They offer from the smallest studios to maisonettes with access to the walkway roof of the lower mass.

Černá, Jana ; Dvořáčková, Ivana (advisor) ; Dostálková, Šárka (referee) ; Drašner, Ivan (referee)
Theory and Practice an the Competence of Graduate Nurse. Working in the Surgical Ambulance This bachelor thesis deals with the contemporary situation and new trends in health service - in the branch of nursing. It presents and evaluates theoretical assumptions of further development of a graduated nurse in new conditions. The empirical part is aimed at identification of the conditions for the work of a graduated nurse and to recognize whether the current legislation enables such a nurse to work individually, concretely in surgical ambulance. The thesis concludes that graduated nurses are allowed to work individually and separately conformably to the laws, and patients and insurance companies take concern in their work. On the basis of this fact some questions arise: Why is there a problem to implement it in practice? Do we really take care in graduate nurses?

Methods of protection against eavesdropping and snooping in digital networks
Pokorný, Tomáš ; Šalamon, Tomáš (advisor) ; Štorková, Veronika (referee)
The aim of this work is to provide a comprehensive overview of eavesdropping and snooping in digital networks, describe possible threats and show technological and organizational precautions against them. The first chapter introduces the reader into the topic and shows all the main threats. The second chapter describes technological precautions with the emphasis on data flow. The first part of this chapter explains the terminology. Next part tries to solve the security of each type of a communicational channel followed by the virtual private networks issues, physical networks and the risks of encryption. The third chapter analyses organizational issues with the emphasis on legislation. Precautions in this chapter make the technology from the previous chapter more effective. The fourth chapter uses the findings from previous chapters and tries to secure a company in all its complexity. This allows the estimation of total cost. The practical part of this thesis should serve for companies with already developed infrastructure who want a transparent solution that would protect them from eavesdropping and data thefts.

The Role of Heterogeneous Households in the DSGE model: Application to the Czech Republic
Palas, Michal ; Bobková, Božena (advisor) ; Kukačka, Jiří (referee)
In this thesis, we study the role of non-Ricardian households in an open economy dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model calibrated for the Czech Republic. We show that the presence of non-Ricardian households induces a short-term raise in aggregate consumption in response to a government spending shock. The combination of price and wage rigidities, habit formation, and the open economy design enables a low share of non-Ricardian consumers to be sufficient to predict the positive comovement of government spending and aggregate consumption. We estimate the sensitivity of consumption to changes in disposable income in the Czech Republic, and our results suggest that a significant share of income goes to non- Ricardian households. If the nominal-wage stickiness is assumed, the inclusion of non- Ricardian households does not considerably alter the determinacy of the model, and an interest rate rule satisfying the Taylor principle is sufficient to get a unique stable solution. The overall performance of the model is studied through the analysis of impulse responses to various shocks.

Michna, Petr ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Ing. Daniel Trhoň, Ph.D., MBA, (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the analysis and evaluation of one of the most important Business Intelligence platform in the BI market -- SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence 2004s. The main objective of the analysis is to provide reader with very comprehensive theoretical and practical platform overview that is based among others on valuable implementation of SAP NetWeaver BI sample application. The sample application not only allows better understanding of the platform, but also provides significant inputs to evaluation final phase. This evaluation is based on a metric system, which is defined as a part of this thesis as well. The evaluation result is then, apart from the quantitative quality interpretation of analyzed platform, included in a quality comparison (some areas) with BI platforms Oracle and Open Source Pentaho, whose evaluation and comparison have been made in diploma thesis [VÁLEK, 2008]. At the end of this thesis is then provided an overview of SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence 2004s strengths and weaknesses.

Cultural differences in educatin Czech and English families
Zmeková, Olga ; Slaboch, Martin (advisor) ; Tereza, Tereza (referee)
The master thesis introduces the educational systems in the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, with focus on England. When assigning the master thesis topic, the author did not realize how extensive and complex the topic was. Therefore, while studying documents, reserching information, and finding respondents, the topic of the thesis narrowed to focus only on the educational systems of both countries and their comparison from the teachers´point of view. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is built on information gained from studying documents. The author will present both systems, their history, basic features, and the individual stages of education. Concerning this topic, a relatively sufficient amount of literary and online resources exists. The practical part of the thesis introduces the results of a qualitative research. As a part of this thesis, ten interviews with teachers who have experience with both the Czech and English educational systems took place. Due to the broadness of the topic, the author has chosen the above mentioned qualitative research, specifically a semi-structured interview, which allows the topic to be researched thoroughly. The teachers had an opportunity to share their knowledge and experience, which they gained throughout their careers. The interviews enabled the author to gain new information which were not found in literature. The personal experiences brought a certain amount of authenticity to the thesis. The conclusion of the thesis consists of a summary of the information the author has managed to gather.

Kalová, Barbora ; Tepperová, Jana (advisor) ; Pavel, Jan (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the impact of the application of § 38f article 4, which is the Czech legislation allowing the resident to use exemption method for the taxation of foreign income from employment regardless of the method provided in the relevant Double Tax Treaty. The thesis includes an analysis of the development of the taxation of income from employment in the Czech Republic with regard to the taxation of foreign income. Further analysis of the evolution § 38f article 4 of the Income Tax Act and Article 15 of the OECD Model Treaty. The thesis conclusion states that in the model cases, if the foreign country uses a lower tax rate than is used in the Czech Republic, it is always advantageous to use the exemption method for taxpayers. In the case of higher tax rate it appears to be more favourable credit method in the most cases.
