Matas, Radek ; Burkoň, Lukáš (advisor) ; Feuerlicht, Jiří (referee)
With rapid technological progress, the services' share of national GDP is still increasing. The question is, whether the services are properly and sufficiently supported by available information technology instruments. This thesis will be a contribution to the development in the new academic branch called Service Science, Management and Engineering which is concerned with studying of services and it will become a part of this branch. The sence of service categorization is in transparent and organized determination. Some service categorizations in general or in the field of information technology have been made in the past but I will try to add some new perspectives or, where appropriate, to add comments to existing categorizations.

Lukeš, Ondřej ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Krejcar, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with possibilities of strategic measurement of performance in Czech industrial firm and application of distinguished metrics using Business Intelligence tools. In particular it is a firm called Linde Pohony s.r.o. that produces axes and half axes for forklifts. This thesis is based on contemporary information about strategic performance management and its tools. The main aim of this thesis is to demonstrate possibilities of using Business Intelligence in order to measure key performance metrics. Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 with its Analysis and Integration services are used to prove it. It was necessary to create model of metrics at first. First part of the thesis deals with several ways and methods how to measure firm's performance. Then a proper method to measure performance is chosen. In following chapters ways how Business Intelligence tools can contribute to industrial firms are discussed. Then the real implementation of few metrics is described following with an outline of firm's software architecture. Main contribution of this thesis is particularly in demonstrating power of Business Intelligence tools when they are used along with Balanced Scorecard methodics in small or medium sized Czech industrial firm. Also Linde Pohony s.r.o. can profit from this work -- considering that many administrative tasks are much easier and faster and management has much better view into their firm. Brzá, Magdaléna ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Ditrych, Ondřej (referee)
The Master's thesis Delegitimization of the west in Al Qaeda's Magazine Inspire focuses on the techniques of terrorist group's propaganda aimed at individuals of Arab descent and Islam faith residing in one of the western countries. Thesis analyses sixteen issues of digital magazine Inspire published since 2010 by Al Qaeda affiliate in Yemen called AQAP - Al Qaeda in Arabian Peninsula. Terrorist attacks by so called lone-wolfs on the territory of western states have had increasing tendency in the last decade. The phenomenon of online propaganda and radicalisation through social networks is progressively becoming one of the major challenges for western security services. Grasping the sociological and psychological aspects of lone wolfs' drivers for conducting terrorist attacks is thus crucial. The underpinning theory of the thesis is framing analysis together with the concept of delegitimization. Thesis traces the production and use of five framing tools - metaphor, catchphrases, depiction, exemplars and visual images (which are the combination of studies done by Fairhurst & Sarr and Gamson & Modigliani 1989). Second part of the thesis links the framing tools with three stages of the delegitimization of the west - a crisis of confidence, a conflict of legitimacy and a crisis of legitimacy. The...

Litany
Salajková, Eliška ; Hradílek, Pavel (advisor) ; Mrňávek, Tomáš (referee)
This bachelor work "Litany" deals with the origin of liturgical processions called litanies and with the litany as a form of prayer. These two meanings are tightly connected as the singing of litanies was an inseparable part of the processions. The origin of the processions just as of the litany prayer form can be traced back to Byzantium, their use in the western Church has developed and been adapted to the western Christianity. The first part deals with the basic characteristics of litany and invocation Kyrie eleison and is followed by a chapter about titulars and stationary service in Rome. The next chapters focus on litanies as a part of liturgy, with a special attention to the Litanies of the Saints. The text pursues the history of this prayer form and compares some of them. In the concluding part it tries to outline the development of litany in the future. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

From component to service
Mareš, Jan ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (referee)
Thesis describes process of changing component into web service, usage of web services and there relation to components. Components are known for many years and they evolved from software modules. There are described tree main technological standards for making components in this thesis, which are Java, .Net and CORBA, and from many component-based development methods and approaches is described one Rational Unified Process. In thesis is described what web service is by describing web service standards. Main standards for web services are SOAP, WSDL, UDDI and standard based on WSDL and few minor standards from companies Sun and Microsoft called WSIT. From developer point of view there are many similarities in web services and components, and it is possible to think of web service as component which communicates using SOAP messages and is using WSDL technology. In practical part of thesis is making of component based on Java 2 Enterprise Edition platform, which serves as chat server. To this component is added interface for using SOAP and WSDL/WSIT, and by this it is changed to web service.

Marketing of e-Government in Czech Republic
Nádvorníková, Markéta ; Lechner, Tomáš (advisor) ; Vláčil, Jan (referee)
The subject of this thesis is the possibility of an application of marketing tools in the public administration, particularly in the field of a gradual computerization of the public administration, called e-government. In the Part I, a suitability of the use of manager methods within the public sector is discussed and, a development of these implementations is outlined. An emphasis is then put on the marketing tools and methods of communication between the public authorities and the population. The communication issue is followed by a partial survey, which observes an openness of websites of selected national authorities. Finally, the main analysis of the thesis is to evaluate the public awareness of the possibilities of using the e-government services in our country. The questionnaire-based survey disproved an initial hypothesis, that the lower utilization of some tools is a result of a lack of information provided to the citizens.

Hypermedia APIs and their use for enhancing integration of IT services
Annau, Mike ; Šebesta, Michal (advisor) ; Jelínek, Ivan (referee)
This paper's aim is to design and implement a tool transforming REST Web APIs into APIs which facilitate the integration process. The improvement of integration is mainly divided into two parts: The embedding of semantic data in order to establish a common understanding of objects, properties and relations and the possibility to navigate through the API structure in an easy and automated way. The theoretical part is dealing with the fundamentals of Web APIs, today's related trends and the API's shortages and points of improvement. Another objective of this paper is to compare current data standards of output formats for so called Hypermedia APIs, whereas the most suitable components will be chosen as the output format of this paper's resulting tool. The practical part is dealing with the design and implementation of the tool being developed. Included, there is the description of test scenarios, related benefits for the tool's users as well as a final evaluation of the resulting tool and a discussion of the tool's future potential. The benefits of the tool are evaluated in a case study.
