The Problem of the Quality of Life and Ageing in People with Mental Disabilities
Řehák, Radek ; Černá, Marie (referee) ; Šiška, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the effective prevention of problems that may arise in people with learning difficulties as they grow older. The theoretieal seetion of the thesis explores the concept of "learning difficulty", the development of care for sufferers both in the Czech Republic and throughout the world, the process of ageing as it affects the whole population, and looks at effective and appropriate strategies to address the challenges of ageing. The second seetion deseribes the range of support services available to people with learning difficulties especially the provision of "assisted" employment as a means of delivering a fulfílling life to sufferers. Such "assisted" employment is then compared with the "sheltered workshop" concept. This seetion goes on to explain the terms "institutional care" and "sheltered living" and then to explore the challenges faced by those experiencing learning difficulties when attempting to integrate into society. Brief reference is also made to the new law on sociál services and its potential to revolutionise the care of those experiencing challenges to their health. The practical seetion of the thesis deseribes the research carried out into the provision of services for adults with learning difficulties; these researches were conducted in and around Pardubice,...

Monolayers of platinum nanoparticles prepared by dip-coating
Černohorský, Ondřej ; Grym, Jan ; Yatskiv, Roman ; Pham, V.H. ; Hudry, D. ; Dickerson, J.H.
Platinum is a transition metal known for its catalytic properties, which are further enhanced when employed in a nanoparticle form. We have recently shown that a monolayer of Pt nanoparticles deposited on semiconductor substrates forms high quality Schottky diodes, which were used in sensitive hydrogen sensors with a detection limit of 1 ppm of H-2 in N-2. Preparation of ordered monolayers of Pt nanoparticles is essential for the understanding of the behaviour of such an interface. To obtain a hexagonal closed-packed nanoparticle array, we prepared Pt nanoparticles stabilized by oleylamine and oleic acid with a narrow size distribution and uniform shapes. A monolayer prepared by dip-coating of Si substrate in the suspension containing Pt nanoparticles showed hexagonal arrangement within separate domains with the surface coverage up to 90%. The increase of the surface coverage with increasing withdrawal speed of the dip-coating process was observed

Regulation of professional services - case of sworm interpreter
Havlínová, Nikola ; Zemplinerová, Alena (advisor) ; Lipka, David (referee)
This thesis focuses on the issue of working licences for sworn interpreters. Sworn interpretation is a service used in both the private and the state spheres when there is a need for sworn interpreting or translation. The interpreting work or translation is then performed by sworn interpreters appointed by the state. The conditions for appointing a sworn interpreter are subject to legislation. However, concisely speaking the service guarantees that the translation or interpreting work performed by a state-appointed sworn interpreter conforms to the original text. The translation or interpreting work is furnished with the sworn interpreter's personal seal, and can then be used during dealings with the authorities and so on. In this work I have examined the legislative framework of sworn interpreting, the economic justification for the working licences and the practical experience of translation agencies that make use of the services of sworn interpreters. I have contacted a total of 44 translation agencies through questionnaires and this has allowed me to make a genuine assessment of their experience. In addition to these agencies I have also contacted all the regional courts with powers to appoint sworn interpreters in order to ascertain their approach to the interpretation of legislation as it stands. In the conclusion I summarise all the theoretical and practical experience I have uncovered and the contribution of my work.

The diploma thesis is focused on the main activities of the social workers at the hospitals in Prague, the regional hospitals, and one former district hospital. Within the theoretical section of the abstract there are clearly defined fundamental concepts of social work in health care and its historical transformation. The chapters consist of four sections: ethics code, the quality of social work at the hospital, valid legislation, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration within the hospital. The theoretical part focuses on job description, competencies, skills or personality characteristics of the social worker in the hospital. The last section describes social work in the hospitals by different target groups with whom the social workers can come into contact. The empirical part of this diploma thesis is acquired by the semistructured interviews. The main research question tries to find out the role of the social worker at the hospital. The research targets three surveyed areas: The first examines the qualification skills of the social worker at the hospital. The second refers to the job description of the social worker at the hospital's core business activities. The last part of the research is dedicated to interdisciplinary collaboration among hospital staff. The discussion consists of compared...

Attachment in early adolescence and its relations to behaviour disorders
KOLÁŘOVÁ, Šárka
My thesis aims to prove the hypothesis that there is an influence of an attachment organization on the development of an emotionally stable personality. According to the model of development psychopathology a secure attachment organization constitutes a protective factor and is associated with a desirable development of an individual. It has positive connections with competence in peer relationships, effective self-regulation and better social adaption in early adolescence. An insecure attachement represents a specific vulnerability for further development of a child and it shows links with lower social competence, less effective emotional regulation and social adaption or with psychic disorders. The practical part of this thesis focuses on findings of correlations between an attachement organization to parents in early childhood and the extent of social adaption (determined by the extent of the occurence of behaviour disorders). From among demographic factors, the effect of age on connections between indicators of emotional attachment, parents{\crq} representation, behaviour strategy and mental defects is investigated. The part of a research sample is made up of children with diagnosed behaviour disorders. The theoretical part covers the problems of attachment and family relations, behaviour disorders and development features of children of a given age category.

The Puppet as a Created Artifact in the Context of Good and Evil
Přibylová, Barbora ; Ebelová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Fulková, Marie (referee)
My thesis is divided into 3 parts - theoretical, educational and practical part and author part. In theoretical section I am looking at the puppet as a methaphor and opportunity of (her) life (wake up the puppet). I am trying to find possibilities us to how the puppet can turn into a live person or wake up. I am looking at the problem of good and evil through a different point of view. The phenomenon of good and evil is reflecting into the educational and author part. At International School of Prague I did a puppet lesson with the theme of "Good and Evil". Students first created two puppets and then teamed up with a partner to write a fairytale script that went along with the puppets. In author section I am expressing the fenomen of good and evil. In doing this I used makeup as a tool. I painted my face in both good and evil ways and was photographed. I also went on the make masks and puppets of my own. During this process I documented my learning through written text, photography, and made a video in the form of a DVD.

Bednářová, Natálie ; Vorlová, Marie (advisor) ; Kuchař, Pavel (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on work with children and youth who come from a socially disadvantaged and culturally diverse environment within the scope of their leisure time with regards to their future employment within a society. Primarily, the thesis discusses a positive influence on socialization of children and youth by activation programs in the context of low-threshold-organized streetwork and social work. I am interested in this kind of problematics and I have been working as a volunteer in this social field. I draw on my personal experience, which is connected to a concrete locality. I build my bachelor's thesis on my personal conviction that activation programs aiming on target group of children and youth in the context of low-threshold-organized street work and social work might play a crucial role in prevention of social exclusion.
