This diploma thesis analyses the development of proportion of unemployed people and of job applicants registered with the Labour Offices in Lovosice. The thesis comprises of the development of overall unemployment analysis in the microregion. Using statistical methods, I evaluated the monitored figures in years from 2005 to 2015. Elementary characteristics of time series and trendy functions were used for the solution. Subsequently, the work includes prediction of further development of unemployment and survey evaluation. At the end, I suggested ways of decreasing unemployment of selected high-risk persons.

Institutional-historical analysis of early development of sickness insurance in the Czech lands at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century
Dvořák, Lukáš ; Chalupníček, Pavel (advisor) ; Doležalová, Antonie (referee)
This text aims to identify the main features of development of sickness insurance in the Czech lands. In the second half of the 19th century new mutual benefit societies started to emerge -- similarly like in Great Britain and the United States, and in the same time in 1888 the compulsory workers sick insurance was introduced. In the first part, this work offers analytical framework for analysis of this development, especially the approach of the public choice school, the concept of cognitive hazard and of social capital. In second part, the author gives historical overview of the era, brief overview of the development of so-called Friendly societies in Great Britain and the United States and an analysis of compulsory workers sick insurance and voluntary societies in Bohemia. The analysis shows the role of interest groups (workers movement, employers, physicians etc.) that shaped the compulsory insurance in similar way as captured in the Anglo-Saxon experience. The push-through of the compulsory insurance strengthens their positions. The application of social capital and cognitive hazard concept reveals that the compulsory insurance could bring unintended cost in the long run by lowering a voluntary cooperation.

Diploma thesis "Utilization of reminiscence in terms of clients' activation in home for the elderly" deals with remembering and its use for working in homes for the elderly. It defines reminiscence, group reminiscence in particular, describing its benefits and possibilities for application. Object of this work is to present reminiscence from the view of reminiscence assistant, record development of reminiscence group and outline some practical recommendation for the work. Theoretical part is devoted to the problems of old age, aging, description of homes for elderly and associated topics. It is focused on reminiscence, defining its theoretical basis and critical founds. It also deals with group reminiscence and the basic principles of its application. Practical part is focused on the activity of a concrete reminiscence group describing its development and details of individual reminiscence meetings including arisen situations. Based on practical example it provides data concerning progress of the reminiscence group and its functioning from the view of a reminiscence assistant. In the conclusion concise practical recommendation for working with reminiscence group are presented.

Security System Based on Intelligent Sensors
Kučera, Vojtěch ; Očenášek, Pavel (referee) ; Trchalík, Roman (advisor)
The main target of this bachelor's thesis is to design and implement security system based on intelligent sensors. First part describes basic principles, design and implementation of security systems. Further are explained functions and use of intelligent sensors. The creation of design and implementation process are shown in the next part of the thesis. Security system consists of local system, which is integrated into physical building, and server providing web interface. System monitors its surroundings through intelligent sensors and responds to security incidents. Actual state and events history are available through web interface.

Gamification in Teaching
Chmelař, Jan ; Jiřinová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Procházka, David Anthony (referee)
This thesis focuses on the topic of gamification and searches for options of using gamification to improve student experience in the Principles of Management course at University of Economics, Prague. The thesis formally defines gamification and identifies the theory of motivation and game design as two key paradigms in the topic. The practical part uses the apparatus of managerial decision making to choose a suitable variant for implementing gamification elements the self-management activity 30 Days Challenge. The application Habitica is identified as a suitable solution.

Methodology of testing wheat resistance to Fusarium head blight under field conditions
Chrpová, Jana ; Šíp, Václav ; Štěrbová, Lenka ; Sumíková, Taťána ; Palicová, Jana
This handbook brings new conclusions and recommendations concerning evaluation of resistance to Fusarium head blight. The presented findings are based on experience gained from the tests of disease resistance performed in the period 2002-2015, on results of monitoring of Fusarium pathogens (2011 – 2014), available literature and special experiments. This methodology is mainly aimed at increasing precision of tests of resistance to Fusarium head blight which will favourably impact on resistance breeding.

Output-Inflation Trade-off After a Quarter of a Century of Inflation Targeting
Kamarád, Martin ; Potužák, Pavel (advisor) ; Kadeřábková, Božena (referee)
This thesis estimates the treatment effect of inflation targeting adoption on inflation, inflation variability, output, and output variability for 25 explicit inflation targeting countries. I implement the propensity score matching methodology that takes into account the problems of non-experimental nature, such as selection bias or selection on observable, and allows me to effectively mimic properties of randomized experiment and compute unbiased treatment effect estimates. I introduce a variety of propensity score matching methods that were recently developed in the treatment effect literature, including Nearest Neighbor, Radius matching, Kernel matching, and Inverse Probability Weighting. The results indicate that both industrial and developing inflation targeting countries exhibit lower inflation levels and at the same time higher output growth than non-targeting countries. The estimates are however in most cases statistically insignificant. Moreover, it appears that both industrial and developing countries achieve combination of lower inflation variability and output variability compared to non-targeting countries. Nonetheless, majority of the estimates are again statistically insignificant. The results are to a small extent sensitive to the choice of propensity score matching method. Radius matching with tight calipers (r=0.005, r=0.001) tends to provide the most reliable estimates. Balancing properties of the models are reasonable and compared to the previous research the standardised biases are quantitatively better.
