This thesis is focused on XML and related technologies. The XML language is directly linked to the databases and its support in databases. The overview of the XML support provided by various database products and systems are presented in this work. Support in the MS SQL Server 2008 is discussed in more detail starting with the mapping of relational data to XML and vice versa to support of the XML data type and work with it through XQuery. Also some indexing techniques are briefly presented. Finally, the support in MS SQL Server 2008 is demonstrated by means of a sample application, which verifes the theoretical knowledge in practice.
Graphical Editor of Simulation Models
Hořák, Jan ; Hrubý, Martin (referee) ; Peringer, Petr (advisor)
This paper contains brief introduction into modeling and simulation using Discrete Event Specified System (DEVS) formalism. It defines basic models (atomic and coupled DEVS) and shows how they are simulated. Examples of derived DEVS formalism like parallel DEVS or DESS are also presented. It is described how to create DEVS models using graphic modeling software and advantages and disadvantages of this approach. A short summary of known programs are also covered. Storing models in the XML language, validation of XML document and transformation capabilities by XSLT are discussed. The main section is dedicated to the design of a graphic editor for simulation models inspired by design patterns including classes for canvas, model representation, export module interface and main application. The XML document used for storing DEVS models and simple DEVS simulator are also described. Implementation section presents used programming libraries, reasons why they have been used and their advantages and disadvantages. Paper ends with an example of a simple DEVS model created by implemented graphic editor for simulation DEVS models.

New technologies for development of web application Web 2.0
Medlín, Dušan ; Kacálek, Jan (referee) ; Kyselý, František (advisor)
The graduate thesis presents an analysis of the Web 2.0 applications developement. It defines the preliminary conditions and describes the technologies used for the creation of these applications, such as the markup languages HTML and XML, style sheet language CSS, tranfortmations language XSLT and scripting language JavaScript. The thesis depicts the security risks and the ways how the application can be protected against the XSS attacks and SQL Injection. Furthermore, it analyses a concept of the system containing features of the Web 2.0 trend, and its implementation in practice. The internet portal enabling all registered users to share information with the others, will be the result. Files can be uploaded, and maps and videos can be inserted into the system.
Graphics and Presentation in the TeX and LaTeX Systems
Buňka, Roman ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the insertion of external graphic files into LaTeX documents and the creation of graphics using internal tools of TeX. It describes the basic properties of the PSTricks additional package and its expansion enabling the creation of 2D and 3D graphs, special mathematical functions and electrical circuits. The work deals also with the method of creating PDF presentations using the Beamer class. This work suggests a structure of a source SVG file displaying electric circuits or flow charts. It also involves the creation of an XSLT conversion template providing for the conversion of these charts from the SVG format to the PSTricks format making it possible to use these graphic files in the LaTeX system.
Modularization of extraction of public procurement data to RDF
Káňa, Jakub ; Mynarz, Jindřich (advisor) ; Dudáš, Marek (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with extension of data extractor of public contracts gained from server Tenders Electronic Daily. The thesis covers a modularized extractor 10 new types of public contract notices. The data is retrieved from XML by using transformation scenario and they are extracted to RDF/XML data format. The extension is realized on TED-XML and META-XML formats of published data. The work also expands and creates independent library of functions. The library is documented. To ensure the accuracy of the extracted data in terms of syntax and also used ontologies there are used validation tools. For command line syntax validation Jena Apache Riot and for testing the correctness of output in terms of use Public Contracts Ontology RDFUnit testing tool. The contribution of this work is the practical part, allowing you to convert semi-structured data from the Journal of procurement of EU Member States into a fully structured data. Enhanced extractor allows you to extract data from the notices type F04 - F09 and F15 - F18.
Interactive visualization of XML schemas in internet browser using client's XSLT
Kačina, Peter ; Kosek, Jiří (advisor) ; Dudáš, Marek (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focusing on design and implementation of prototype application, which will be used for transformation from W3C XML schema to visual form in SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format. Visualized schema will made easier to understand it and it will be possible to use it as a part of documentation to XML files. It could be also used by developers which will develop XML documents according to the schemas. Visualized form will interpret structure of the document and will provide information about its parts -- elements, complex types and attributes. The goal of the thesis is to create a tool, which will generate interactive graphic in browser with the help of clients XSLT processor -- Saxon CE. In the beginning in the thesis are described used technologies and its way of use in this prototype application. Further in the thesis is described design of graphic model and algorithm and also described how the interactivity is functioning. In description of graphic model are shown pictures of graphic interpretations of each structure mentioned hereinbefore. In following chapter is the algorithm, which main responsibility is to mine data from the source XML document and ensuring of interactivity, described in more detail. Practical output is prototype XSLT transformation, which with the help of clients XSLT processor Saxon CE will transform any W3C XML schema into graphic representation.
Means of Processing of Documents in DocBook stored in ZIP Archive
Hrachovec, Jakub ; Kosek, Jiří (advisor) ; Šimůnek, Milan (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to define a format based on ZIP archive for DocBook documents which would allow their easier handling, e.g. copying or sending them as an attachment with an e-mail. The second goal is creation of an appliaction in the Java programming language which would allow packaging of DocBook documents into the defined format and subsequently their processing and transformation into PDF, HTML and another formats. The results of this thesis allow easier sharing of DocBook documents which are packaged into an archive alongside files referenced from these documents. Firstly, I am going to describe two already existing formats that are based on ZIP archive and these formats are going to inspire me during the definition of a suitable format for DocBook documents that include images and stylesheets. Afterwards I am going to describe operation and funcionality of the created application and finally I am going to prepare a DocBook document which will be packaged into a DocBook archive and transformed into PDF and HTML.
