Enhancing Czech business relations with Indonesia: Present and prospects

This diploma thesis describes current state of business cooperation between Czech Republic and Indonesia with looks backwards in form of important milestones. Moreover, in frame of this point it tries to find key determinants of cooperation between both countries. Furthermore it analyses the most potential sectors for further cooperation enhancement, and thus based on a primary research conducted during an internship in the company Czech.Ina Group. Lastly, the thesis tries to make recommendations towards Czech companies which are considering expansion to the Indonesian market. The diploma work is loosely based on the bachelor thesis Business relations between Czech Republic and Indonesia and its prospects.
The prospects of the Doha round: Asia’s attitude towards negotiations

India, China and Indonesia are among the six largest and fastest growing economies in the world (BRIICS). Rich countries are still reluctant to accept the fact that developing countries are becoming stronger and that the balance of economic power is shifting. The international community therefore seeks to find the way how to deal with this situation and the answer is to involve developing countries in the international trade. The main objective of the WTO is to involve developing countries in world trade and to create better conditions for them. Therefore, in 2001, the Doha Development Agenda has commenced and its aim is to achieve the goals of the WTO. The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the success of the Doha round and its prospects with the focus on the attitudes and interests of the major Asian economies, namely China, India and Indonesia.
Selected analysis of the EU development assistance

Including its member states is the EU the largest provider of development assistance in the world. This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the EU development policy. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate effectiveness of the EU development assistance in selected countries on the basis of selected indicators. The counties are Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Peru and Ukaine. Evaluation of effectiveness was based on the outputs of the sectors in selected countries that were financially supported by the EU. According to these data, there was at least partial improvement in each of the selected countries. The EU development assistance in these countries was therefore identified as effective.
Potential of MIST countries in the current world economy

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate every MIST country's potential in the current world economy. To evaluate such potential, this thesis assess through basic macro economical variables, such as GDP, GDP annual growth, unemployment rate and inflation, trade balance with territory and commodity structure, and also FDI inward flows. In order to evaluate the potential of each of the countries, long term data was gather starting from the 90's up to 2018 predictions. Such data is displayed in graphs and tables. This thesis is divided into 4 chapters. The first chapter focuses on the definition of MIST countries along with its economic progress in comparison to BRIC and G-7 countries. The second chapter concentrates on countries as individuals: Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea and Turkey. Each country is explained individually at an above macro economical variables, on the ground of which the prediction of their potential is based on. The third chapter explores the investment impact of South Korea, as the most developed country of the group, on the Slovak and Czech markets. Specifically, it is centered on the automotive production of Kia Motors Slovakia and Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech and their economical gain for both countries. The last chapter summarizes the potential of MIST countries for future acting in the world economy
Role of foreign direct investment in development of ASEAN-4 countries

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate role of foreign direct investment in development of ASEAN-4, i. e. Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand, and to describe of its inflow. First chapter presents economic theories of development, its factors and development planning in ASEAN-4 countries. Second chapter describes FDI as a developmental factor. Last chapter evaluates impact of FDI on development.
The conflict in Aceh and its international context

The bachelor thesis focuses on the conflict in Aceh, one of the provinces in Indonesia. The thesis studies the historical context of the conflict, its causes, development and resolution. Attention is given especially to the role of Islam, ethnicity, natural resources (mainly natural gas) and the tsunami disaster. Further the thesis evaluates the international context and the influence of international actors on the course and ending of the conflict.
The Importance and Impacts of Trade in Palm Oil and Its Derivatives on the Indonesian Economy

This thesis examines the impacts of oil palm cultivation and palm oil trade on the economy of Indonesia, the largest producer and exporter of palm oil in the world. The reader will be familiar with the current economic situation in Indonesia, trade with palm oil and its economic, social and environmental impacts on Indonesia. In conclusion, the author offers an overview of possible solutions to the negative impacts through certification of palm oil e.g. by organization Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil.
Proces adaptace českých občanů v cizích zemích

This bachelor thesis concerns with theory of adaptation of individuals who live in different cultural environment. The attention is particularly concentrated to ability of Czech people communicate, work and live in Republic of Indonesia, mainly in island Bali. Theoretical part is based on knowledge from intercultural psychology and interkultural communication. There are explained underlying terms, which are connected with futher mentioned theories, for example: culture, nation, ethnocentrism, stereotypes, cultural shock, acculturation or adaptation. There is also intepreted Geert Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory. According this theory is compared czech national culture with indonesian national culture and mentioned their common similarities and differencies. The main attention is paid to models of acculturation and theories of adaptation. In the practical part bachelor thesis are interpreted results from interviews and questionnaires with Czech people, who live in part of Indonesia namely in Bali. These questionnaires were made by the model od CCAI (Cross-Cultural Adaptability Inventory). Interviews and questionnaires inform how Czech people perceive indonesian culture and if they are able to operate effictively in this foreign milieu.
Dopady pěstování palmy olejné na ostrově Kalimantan v Indonésii

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is the evaluation of the impacts of the development of oil palm planting in Indonesia on the environment and social community of the local population in the selected region Kalimantan on the island Borneo. In next step the thesis focuses on the possibilities of using palm oil, the economic causes of the oil-palm planting and political background of the issue. The work also deals the possibilities of solving the assessment of the sustainability of planting and related certification companies producing and trading with palm oil.
Specifics of Business Environment in Indonesia and Possibilities to Broaden Trade Cooperation with Czech Republic
