The thesi s deals with cohesion and coherence in print advertising texts. The first part follows the concept of advertising as a specific type of todayr s discourse and its description. Second part is pointed to text, its cohesion and coherence and various approaches to them. It r s dedicated to their definitions. In detail it introduces tools ranging to coherence, such as context, theme, presupposition and inference, and also tools related to text cohesion (substitution, deixis and repetition). The separate chapter turns to general relations between text and picture lil advertising texts. Analytical part results from interpretation analysis of selected advertising campaigns. In particular it focuses on picture and text relations and relations between separate text parts.

Analysis of possible resources for the support of gifted children in Czech elementary schools
Frimlová, Martina ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Mašková, Pavla (referee)
Diploma thesis "Analysis of possible resources for the support of gifted children in Czech elementary schools" deals with financing the support of gifted children in Czech elementary schools from multiple sources. It starts from the finding that there are available resources both from government and non-government subjects, and that these resources can be used to support special pedagogical care of gifted pupils. It tries to analyze these resources (both financial and non-financial) from the point of view of an elementary school, which aims to give special treatment to gifted children, as it is suggested by legal documents, but cannot influence national policy. When searching for resources to support gifted children, the school eventually faces the fact that directive state funding is inadequate. So the school is forced to resort to searching for alternative sources. It is, however, not a system solution of the problem. Within the process of solving the research problem, 22 most significant resources were identified, including the basic resource - directive state funding. Data obtained about these resources were analyzed within historical and legal context. The result is findings about important characteristics of each of these resources, including legal validity of use, political continuity, amount and...

The carriers of the bishops in the 13th century
Rajterová, Petra ; Žemlička, Josef (referee) ; Doležalová, Eva (advisor)
This submitted paper is focused on career rises of Czech bishops in 13th century. It deals with three of them, serving in Diocese of Prague: Nicholas of Ujezd (bishop between1240-1258), John III. of Drazice (bishop between 1258-1278) and Tobias of Bechyne (bishop between 1278-1296). Considering wider social and political context, this paper tries to describe the possibilities of career life in the Roman Catholic Church. Author uses contemporary sources of information and published literature, newer but even older, applying comparative method and prosopography.

English language teaching in the primary school in the context of competences for learning
Krausová, Jarmila ; Kasíková, Hana (referee) ; Krykorková, Hana (advisor)
The competency for learning is one of the key competencies which are set out within broadly educational programmes, are of supra-subject form and are attainable as a result of a comprehensive education. The development of competencies for learning while learning a foreign language is closely associated with the level of language competency of learning individuals and their feel for the language. The whole process of the development of a pupil's competencies is associated with a complex assessment of the pupil, with the development of not only his/her cognitive abilities and skills, but also the development of his/her personalityrelated and social attitudes. The dissertation "English language teaching in the primary school in the context of competences for learning" consists of three parts. The first part covers theoretical outcomes of learning and language competence, the second part describes strategies for learning a foreign language with the emphasis on metacognitive strategy and psychodidactic application of metacognition in a school environment. The third part presents the results of research conducted in a primary school during English language lessons aimed at educational activities focused on developing of competencies for learning.

Optimization of Algae Population Growth Using Markov Chains and
Zouharová, Martina ; Kalčevová, Jana (advisor) ; Černý, Michal (referee)
The thesis deals with the task of refining the constructional and operational parameters of a tubular photobioreactor in order to maximise the growth rate of algae contained in the cultivation suspension. It builds on a basic growth model of the Porhydrium sp. alga, and focuses on the optimization of external irradiance, which is one of the key determinants of algae growth. Two distinct methodological approaches are applied: analytic approach, which employs Markov Chains, and simulation approach, which relies on agent-based simulations. In the analytic part, we introduce the construction of state transition matrix for a Markov Chain that accounts for varying irradiance inside the photobioreactor (in contrast to constant-irradiance methods that have been published so far). In the simulation part, we devised an agent-based model of algae population that enables us to analyze the system behaviour while interactively changing the model parameters. In the context of the results from both the analytic and simulation part, we conclude by suggesting the optimal level of external irradiance.

Phenomena of difficulty of pre-school children when solving Tangrams
Smidžárová, Libuše ; Kropáčková, Jana (referee) ; Kaslová, Michaela (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is Tangram solving. The target of this thesis is to ascertain on which level is a pre-school child able to solve such tasks; does the child makes a visible progress and under what circumstances if the tasks are repeated. This thesis further disusses the problem-solving phenomena of difficulty. The author follows up the theoretical part in which she defines the concept of Tangrams in the context of puzzles. The experiment is run over three age categories. The author registrates the solving process using spreadsheets and solution outputs. On the basis of a quality analysis of selected phenomena she defines those, which affect the level of difficulty of chosen task. This thesis contains tables and two hundred and twenty six attached pages and of photodocumentation. In the end, the author brings in typical child manifestations in the process of problem solving including mistakes and difficulties. Key words: pre-school child, progress, phenomena of difficulty , level of difficulty, Tangram, puzzle, composition - unit and its parts

Social services for exposed families (in OSPOD perspective for Prague region)
Brandejsová, Jana ; Pazlarová, Hana (advisor) ; Turnerová, Jolana (referee)
The key topics of this thesis are theoretical concepts that can be applied in practise and methods for social workers focusing on support of exposed families. The structure of this thesis correlates with the topic of the support of exposed families and children; basic theoretical outputs about impact of the primary relation of the children for its growth, questions of diagnostics for family function as means for effective help. Further, selected, in social work applicable for family therapeutic and intervention concepts, models of social work with families following hierarchy scheme prevention and intervention. The aim of this thesis is not to describe provided theoretical models or prioritize any of those models but to highlight the key points that can be useful for family focused social workers. Presented concept of this thesis assumes that social workers are mostly highly educated people in area of social and legal context of providing services however many times they are lacking in area of practical methods of social work, socio-therapy or family therapy as a tool for effective help to families. The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis is not a description of the legal framework of social services for families or description of particular institutions (author covered those topics in the previous...

Karel Krejčí's Comparative Approaches in his Understanding of Czech and Polish Literature
Matějková, Veronika ; Janoušek, Pavel (advisor) ; Svatoň, Vladimír (referee) ; Trávníček, Jiří (referee)
The thesis documents and interprets the conflict between the literary discourses of the time on the one hand, and the specific approach of Karel Krejčí (1904-1979), comparatist, Slavist and Czech studies scholar, on the other hand. Based on the Krejčí's studies on literary history and comparative literature, as well as his participation in the methodological debates of his time, the thesis analyses the impact of this conflict on the author's literary theory method, and his work of a literary historian and comparatist in general. The analysis is based on the ambiguous reception of Krejčí's scientific work: while he is recognised as a great personality in the field of Slavic studies, he is considered an outsider in the general context of Czech literary science. The thesis describes how the author, with his methodological approach, was in opposition to the prevailing trend. As a Slavic studies scholar he criticised the 'influence science' and positivist methods employed in the field. In the period between the two world wars he inclined towards the sociology of literature, although this discipline did not become popular. While he was interested in phenomenology and formalism, he defended his 'historical-sociological' approach against structuralism, which was gaining ground. In the 1950s Krejčí wrote a...

Combining temporal logic and behavior protocols
Mandys, Petr ; Kofroň, Jan (referee) ; Adámek, Jiří (advisor)
In this thesis we consider one of the weaknesses of temporal logic - the fact that the temporal formulas specifying complex properties are hard to read. We introduce new temporal logic "BP-CTL", that originate from Computational Tree Logic (CTL) extended with operators partly taken from Behavior Protocols (BP) and partly newly defined. Text of the thesis is divided into several parts. First we introduce reader to the context of the issue. Next we describe new operators and show their usage on small examples. Then we formally define the resulting language (BP-CTL). In the next part we demonstrate the usability of BP-CTL and introduce the tool - called bpctl - for checking properties written in BP-CTL. Finally we evaluate and conclude our work. The text is extended with appendixes including detailed description of used formalisms, mapping tables of patterns collected in Property Specification Patterns project for BP-CTL and bpctl user manual.

Employee motivation in the freezing warehouse at HOPI s.r.o.
Hottmar, Jiří ; Jirsák, Petr (advisor) ; Štokr, Pavel (referee)
The thesis focuses on an evaluation of an employee motivation scheme in a cold storage at HOPI s.r.o. The main objective is to propose recommendations in order to improve the employee motivation scheme. The thesis predominantly focuses on the ordinary warehouse workers (picker, handler, truck drivers, etc.). The scheme has set objectives that are met in the context of the logistics environment, which itself, is characterised by certain specifics. To reach the objective, I conducted a survey of employee satisfaction, surveys within recruitment agencies and interviews with the HOPI warehouse workers. The practical part of the work is based on the internal documentation of HOPI, as well as the information provided by the representatives of the recruitment agencies.
