Effective Instructional Strategies
Starý, Karel ; Walterová, Eliška (advisor) ; Janík, Tomáš (referee) ; Stuchlíková, Iva (referee)
The main aim of this work is to clarify the concept of educational effectiveness. In the theoretical part we first of all describe different conceptualizations of effectiveness. Then we focus on the "processual effectiveness" rather than the "result effectiveness" of the learning in lien with the Czech science literature. Searching for the optimal school instruction which engage student learning is the next step. We focus on three key factors and we try to explain their principles. In our concept an effective instruction arises when students understand and adopt the instructional objectives (setting objectives), learn actively (activity) and finally they reveal the meaning in the topic (meaningfulness). The qualitative factors mentioned above were put through the time factor and thus we tried to design a model o f the effective instruction. We identify five crucial stages of a lesson: setting objectives, activating prior knowledge, understanding the topic, retention of knowledge and concluding reflection. These stages create an effective learning cycle as a part of a learning spiral. For every stage we give some examples of particular instructional strategies and methods. Relation between AKP in Turkey and Milli Görüs in the Netherlands
Meerkerk, Petronella Helena Maria ; Hnízdo, Bořivoj (advisor) ; Anselmo Vieira, Sabina (referee)
The main topics in this thesis were Turkish history, with the focus on Islamist political parties. Furthermore the Turkish migration to the Netherlands and the organizations established by Turks in the Netherlands were discussed. I wanted to show that we can regard the Adalet ve Kalkinma Partisi (AKP) as an Islamist party. The AKP, which was established in 2001, won the last elections in Turkey with nearly 35%. They have been the ruling party since 2002. Erdogan, its prime minister, had been in jail for spreading Islamist ideas. He served as mayor in Istanbul where he had drastic ideas such as separate school busses for boys and girls and a total ban on alcohol. On several occasions later he dissociated himself from those ideas, but I was able to find many proofs and signs that this is more a strategic change than a sincere change of ideology. 1 wanted to give evidence that the Turkish people in the Netherlands are badly integrated; through use of statistics this was proved. They have, compared to Dutch people, worse education and lower paid jobs. They are not socially integrated with Dutch people; they still marry very frequently within their own group. This poor integration makes the Turks more likely to be radical in professing their religion, give more importance to their language and own cultural...

Possibilities of using music therapy in clinical practice
Pavlová, Václava ; Schneidrová, Dagmar (advisor)
During the 20th century, medicine has undergone massive development. But countless new methods to save life or improve its quality began to develop a new perspective on health and the role of doctors and patient. Recognizing that virtually everything we do, eat, breathe, etc. affects our health, moved a large part of the responsibility for maintaining health to all of us. A patient who decides on many factors alone, should become a collaborator in self-care and an active participant prevention and therapy. Another change that is greatly reflected in the medical approach to therapy is the pursuit of the lowest of all invasive medical procedures. Doctor must always weigh the benefits and risks of surgery, which intends to make, and it should be attempt to choose the therapy so as to have the least adverse effects in maintaining good efficiency of treatment. The two previous points related increase in interest in psychotherapy. Its essence lies in influencing the patient's psychological means. It means avoidance of drugs and therefore the risk of side effects and risk dependencies that are often prescribed for some but i freely counter medications (anxiolytics, analgesics) a major threat. On the other hand, psychotherapy requires patient cooperation, willingness to treat a mainly willingness to devote time and...

Gerontology
Thorovská, Alena ; Přívratský, Vladimír (referee) ; Vančata, Václav (referee)
The presented thesis is devoted to the issue of gerontology. In the theoretical part I will define the basic terms of social gerontology and then I will briefly deal with its history and current activities. In the next part I will continue by integrating the social gerontology into the world context and I will shortly expand on the demographic situation in our country and in the world. I will also mention the symptoms of ageing and its prevention. In the research part I will interview students of two Prague grammar schools and the following chapter will be devoted to the treatment and the evaluation of the results. In the practical part I will try to suggest some issues for the social gerontology that could be possibly incorporated to the Framework educational programme. The handbook of gerontology is a part of this thesis. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The anticipation and Mulholland Drive by David Lynch
Rynda, Vojtěch ; Prokopová, Alena (referee) ; Hanáková, Petra (advisor)
This thesis deals with David Lynch's Mulholland Drive from the viewpoint of anticipatory processes revolving around it and taking place in its perception. The part covering anticipations on behalf of the author stems from interviews with the director, David Bordwell's theory of narration and works of Constance School of reception aesthetics. These two theoretical frameworks provide basis also for the part covering anticipations on behalf of recipients, which treats critics and spectators separately. This part works with published texts on Mulholland Drive and spectators' opinions reflected in internet forums. After a chapter on anticipations from the distribution viewpoint this thesis analyses to a great detail anticipatory processes involved in the course of Mulholland Drive's perception. It understands the film as consisting from two parts, which it treats separately, and describes anticipations on the levels of scenes, motives, and the film as a whole. The thesis also comes up with a model explaining the popularity of Lynch's work across various spectator groups. Anticipatory processes not only run on the film's various levels but also co-influence its impact. Dealing with Mulholland Drive through anticipation provided for a complex analysis and revealed anticipation as its structural element.

JAWS Framework for Non-standard Applications
Ficek, Michal ; Kryl, Rudolf (referee) ; Cejnar, Pavel (advisor)
The JAWS application (www.freedomscienti c.com) is capable of allowing access of blind users to computer controls. Applications with graphical control elements that often substitute for standard controls of Microsoft Windows or applications that don't support full keyboard control have to be modi ed with JAWS scripting language to give out sounds and allow control of the sight impaired. This project describes creation of a script for speci c application and analyzes what parts of the script can be automatically generated. At the same time we introduce JAWS Framework - application with included users manual, technical documentation and discussion of solutions according to the speci fication of our project.

Painterly animation synthesis
Psotka, František ; Maršálek, Lukáš (referee) ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor)
In this work I study painterly animation synthesis using simulated brush strokes. Painterly animation, as a new artistic form, gives the animator new space and freedom. The aim of the project is to design a framework which could solve this complex task - to put together both the exibility and simplicity with user comfort. This framework should be helpful in further research of artistic and technical potential of painterly animation. Implementation the method of Barbara Meier [4] within this framework results in the application which provides a possibility of creating attractive pieces in brushwork even for less experienced animators.

Theory and Practice an the Competence of Graduate Nurse Working in the Surgical Ambulance
Černá, Jana ; Dvořáčková, Ivana (advisor) ; Dostálková, Šárka (referee) ; Drašner, Ivan (referee)
Theory and Practice an the Competence of Graduate Nurse. Working in the Surgical Ambulance This bachelor thesis deals with the contemporary situation and new trends in health service - in the branch of nursing. It presents and evaluates theoretical assumptions of further development of a graduated nurse in new conditions. The empirical part is aimed at identification of the conditions for the work of a graduated nurse and to recognize whether the current legislation enables such a nurse to work individually, concretely in surgical ambulance. The thesis concludes that graduated nurses are allowed to work individually and separately conformably to the laws, and patients and insurance companies take concern in their work. On the basis of this fact some questions arise: Why is there a problem to implement it in practice? Do we really take care in graduate nurses?
