Analýza dopadu sankcí na obchod mezi Evropskou unií a Ruskem
Kolářová, Andrea ; Klosová, Anna (advisor) ; Coniglio, Nicola (referee)
This thesis is trying to assess the effects of sanctions imposed on Russia in 2014 by the European Union and other countries, with respect to the changes in the trade flows among the two participants (EU and Russia). Firstly, the theoretical background for sanctions is provided, explaining their meaning and instruments which they use. Secondly, the overview of the Ukrainian conflict is conducted together with a brief review of the economic restrictions which were implemented, as well as the Russian counter-sanctions. The empirical part is firstly explaining the effects of the restrictions on the both economies and then introducing the state of the bilateral trade flows between the EU and Russia before the imposition of the sanctions. The most important part of the thesis is the gravity model conducted in the third chapter, which is trying to estimate the effects of the sanctions on the EU-Russian trade flows using two approaches. One of them is conducted with the help of regression analysis and a dummy variable which controls for the sanctions effect. The other one is predicting the values of exports without the disturbance of the sanctions and then comparing the results with the real values of the export for the years examined. The results of these analyses have proven the expectations about the negative impact of the sanctions on the trade flows between the EU and Russia.

Operace Lité olovo a její mezinárodní souvislosti
Juhásová, Michaela ; Eichler, Jan (advisor) ; Dubský, Zbyněk (referee)
My thesis are firstly concerning the historical development of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in order to be able evaluate properly the Operation Cast Lead, its effects and impact on the further evolution of the Palestinian-Israeli relations. In this part, I focus on the preferable forms of the conflict solution (two-state solution, bi-national/one-state solution, three states solution with independent state of Israel, Gaza annexed to Egypt and the West Bank in federation with Jordan, or possible economic peace). Besides that, I pay attention to the international actors who were involved in the conflict (solution). Afterwards, I am describing the Operation in detail, its flow and impact on the positioning of other countries and international society as whole towards the conflict. As the end, I am offering my proposal of conflict resolution with its positives and strengths, at the same time I am demonstrating the disadvantages and critics of other possible solutions. Moreover, I am suggesting the criteria for the choice of potential mediators (after the historical evaluation). As conclusion, I argue, that the operation targeted at getting rid of the terrorist leaders is not sustainable solution to this conflict and therefore it is necessary to look deeper for long-term solutions leading to the peace on the Middle East.

Conflict-of-interests in municipal representatives' delicts
Petráková, Lenka ; Potůček, Martin (advisor) ; Frič, Pavol (referee)
The study is aiming to identify the problematical areas in municipal representatives' decision-making together with the identification of their conflict of interests. Ethics, legislation and public control (or municipal community in broader terms) are defined as constituents of municipal representatives' conduct. Municipal representatives as actors of decision-making process follow different values and interests, their ethical competences might vary, and other group interests and their moral obligations influence them too. Their behavior and conduct take place within conflict of these values, interests and obligations. The current legislation, nor other institutional arrangements reflect ethical standards and do not protect the public interest sufficiently. The public control fails too; the right to participate in the public life is not understood as a civic duty. The seriousness of the situation is exemplified in the analysis of Czech municipal representatives' delicts referring to their public duties. In majority of cases, the failure of morals applies supported by nepotism and clientelism that limit public control. It can be stated that the municipality size structure affects the public control; a smaller municipality shows lower citizens' effectiveness. The conclusion of the study offers recommendation...

Kříž, Roman ; Grézl, František (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
This work focus on problem with creating and maintaining multiple versions and formats of ebook with one source version. There is no tool supporting this kind of workflow at this time.   The problem is solved by definition of one specification file holding all needed informations about the book and all result targets (result versions and formats) and by using templating languages and CSS preprocessors to create ebook content.   This solution allows to easily create multiple versions of ebook and maintain only one source with possibility to use git (or any other version control system) to version the book. Also allows to display immediate visualization of how the book will look. There is also not small number of improvements in creation and maintenance workflow.   Result of this work is one simple terminal application which controls whole process of compiling source files, packaging into result files and performing validations. Tool also provides local web server for displaying book in web browser with automatic refresh feature. Result tool also includes custom templating engine which makes easier to write book content.

Béna, Tomáš ; Navrátilová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Zuzana, Zuzana (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the field of tourism industry. After a general definition of a broader context and key terms, the basic theoretical approaches to assessing the potential of tourism and the division of its assumptions are evaluated and compared, as well as its typology is outlined. Subsequently, the investigated destination of Podzvičinsko is defined territorially, and the studied theoretical approaches are applied in its description and a detailed inventory of attractions. Further, structured interviews with experts were conducted. The next step was to compile a questionnaire and its distribution to the wider public in order to find out data about potential visitors. On the basis of the provided information, the participants were divided into respective target segments. Specific tourism products have been designed for these segments which maximally correspond to the segments profiles, their goals and possibilities. The findings identified during the structured interviews and in the questionnaires also defined negatively perceived aspects of the destination, and measures were proposed for their improvement.
