Some problems of exponential smoothing
Čurda, David ; Hanzák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Komárek, Arnošt (referee)
In this work the several exponential smoothing type methods are briefly described, which are often used to smoothing and forecasting in the time series. Selected problems, that occur in described methods, are presented and in some cases there are the suggestions to their solution, which should tend to more suitable smoothing or to the better forecasts. It's shown how the methods are applied on different data and how the forecasts differ from each other. In conclusion the quality of modifications is evaluated.

This thesis evaluates the translation quality of phrase-based machine translation system. It explains the translation error annotation scheme to manually annotate errors related to English to Urdu translation system. The primary goal of the thesis is to experiment with different heuristic in order to improve the translation quality based on through manual analysis of 200 test sentences. Different hueristics such as (1) pre-processing of input English, such as word reordering, (2) preprocessing the training corpus in order to improve word alignment, (3) using additional factors (in Moses factored translation) to better model target-side morphological coherence are applied and their impact on the translation quality is evaluated.

The geographical aspects of pricing in the field of freight road transport
Čermák, Jan ; Marada, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kraft, Stanislav (referee)
The aim of this paper is to show what relation is between the distance and the transport price and which factors can contribute to the expected irregularity. Based on the real freight transport prices the paper is looking for and finding significant differences in the relative transport prices between chosen regions. It seems that the quality of the transport price is influenced by factors like the location of the target region within Europe and towards Czechia, within transportation routes and networks, its economic power and structure and possibly also by the mutual relations that the source and target regions have within the global supply chains. The quality of the transport connection between the regions is further compared with the connection that these regions have within the global city network. As was found out, these two kinds of connection do not have to necessarily be the same. A short questionnaire was taken among chosen transport experts to get the basis for a better interpretation of the paper's conclusions and also to get their opinion on the sense of the geographical research in the field of international transport and logistics. Keywords: international freight road transport, transport pricing, transport price, logistics, supply chains, geographical aspects of pricing

Balážová, Lucie ; Tůma, Martin (advisor) ; Táborský, František (referee)
My dissertation's name is : Development ofhandball goalkeepers joints movability focused on selected elements oftheir skill Aim : The aim of my dissertation is to make and prove a model of development hip joint movability which is applied at the same time with practice and getting better of sdected goalkeepers skill. Methods: I used observation method for proper survey and record of goalkeepers' activity. In my case it was about observation during matches, also filled in with indirect observation from video records. I needed to measure goalkeepers' hip joint movability and spine flexibility in my dissertation - I used measurement of distances and measurement of angles (goniometry). I assessed goalkeepers' quantitative and quality locomotive faculties. Results : On the basis of the acquired results we can see that goalkeepers improved their movability ofhip joints and spine flexibility. They also improved their percentage successfulness in catching shoots during matches, on average, by 13%. They also improved their skill of goalkeeping but I expected that they would improve more. KEY WORDS : handball, goalkeeper, joint movability, quantitative and quality assessment of locomotive faculties

Issue Standards for Treatment of External Childrens Genital from Birth to 3 Years
KURUCOVÁ, Monika
Hygienic care is one of the most critical pillars of care for child´s health. Learning the right hygienic habits in childhood and keeping them throughout the lifetime is of vital importance for human health. Unfortunately, information about the hygiene of external genital of children is often inconsistent, both among the parents and healthcare workers. The thesis deals with the issue of treatment of external genital of children from birth to three years of age, while the main emphasis is put on education of mothers. The objective of the thesis was to determine, whether the nurses know their competences in treatment of the external genital in newborns, babies and toddlers and whether the nurses are able to apply the competences in full. The third objective of the thesis was to map the awareness of parents of how to treat external genital of children from birth to three years of age. Three hypotheses were established. The first hypothesis: Nurses know their competences in treatment of external genitals of newborns, babies and toddlers. The second hypothesis: Nurses, who know their competences in treatment of external genital of newborns, babies and toddlers, are unable to fully apply them. The third hypothesis: Parents of newborns, babies and toddlers do not have sufficient information about the proper hygienic treatment of external genital of their children. The quantitative research used two anonymous questionnaires, while one questionnaire was designed for nurses working with children from birth to 3 years of age. The other questionnaire was created and intended for mothers of children in the age category from birth to three years. The questionnaire research was performed on the territory of the South Bohemian region. The first hypothesis: ``Nurses know their competences in treatment of external genital of newborns, babies and toddlers.{\crq}q has been confirmed. The second hypothesis: ``Nurses, who know their competences in treatment of external genital of newborns, babies and toddlers in treatment of external genital of newborns, babies and toddlers, are unable to fully apply them.{\crq}q has been rebutted. The third hypothesis: ``Parents of newborns, babies and toddlers do not have sufficient information about the proper hygienic treatment of external genital of their children.{\crq}q has been confirmed. Based on those findings we have decided to develop an educational standard for nurses about the intimate hygiene of girls and boys from birth to three years of age and an educational material for treatment of external genital for parents of young children. We believe that the materials will improve the awareness of this issue and result in a better quality of care for children.

In the last two decades multimedia have become an integral part of our lives. However, we often face the two clashing requirements - limited storage space or internet connection capacity and the demand for reasonable quality of the media. Compression makes these two requirements more compatible by reducing the amount of data neccessary to store the media. This thesis concentrates on sound, particularly lossy or perceptual compression of audio. As opposed to lossless compression schemes, perceptual coders introduce some noise to the signal to make it better compressible by lossless methods. The tradeoff is an impressive coding efficiency provided by most of these coders. The point of interest in designig a lossy audio coder is to make that damage as imperceptible as possible. This is achieved with knowledge of psychoacoustics (exploiting the imperfections of human auditory system), specifically masking thresholds, perceptual entropy, quiet thresholds and many more. This thesis explains some of these phenomena and their practical implementations in modern audio coders. Finally an overview of select modern audio coders is given, including some technical details about their operation and capabilities.

Lédlová, Michaela ; Havlová, Jana (advisor) ; Křivánek, Zdeněk (referee)
In using of one method of pedagogical research (questionnary) there was investigated to what degree a co-operation between a kindergarten at the hospital and the parents of hospitalized children is possible. It means if the parents have a need of the co-operation with the kindergarten's teacher and how the personality of the teacher affects a quality of the co-operation. It was confirmed the co-operation between the kindergarten and the parents is possible when both sides have a head approach. Furthermore it was confirmed the parents have a need of the co-operation with the kindergarten's teacher in the hospital. Thereby they can get a better view about the pre-school age particularities and they can get health, psychological and pedagogical knowledge. Also it was confirmed the teacher's personality affects the quality of the co-operation. The empathy, the teacher's respect a the professional pedagogical access arc necessary. The teacher is a main integral factor. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Michna, Petr ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Ing. Daniel Trhoň, Ph.D., MBA, (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the analysis and evaluation of one of the most important Business Intelligence platform in the BI market -- SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence 2004s. The main objective of the analysis is to provide reader with very comprehensive theoretical and practical platform overview that is based among others on valuable implementation of SAP NetWeaver BI sample application. The sample application not only allows better understanding of the platform, but also provides significant inputs to evaluation final phase. This evaluation is based on a metric system, which is defined as a part of this thesis as well. The evaluation result is then, apart from the quantitative quality interpretation of analyzed platform, included in a quality comparison (some areas) with BI platforms Oracle and Open Source Pentaho, whose evaluation and comparison have been made in diploma thesis [VÁLEK, 2008]. At the end of this thesis is then provided an overview of SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence 2004s strengths and weaknesses.
