The language of the Portuguese advertising

My graduation work, The Language of Portuguese Advertising, deals with modern and dynamic promotional discourse. The results presented in the project are based on the analysis of self-gathered promotional wordings in the Portuguese press from 2006 - 2008. The project is divided into 8 chapters reflecting individual linguistic discipline and verbal level. Advertising is mainly one-way communication originating from a company and going to anonymous parties, not a specified potential customer group. First of all, the promotional message has to catch the recipient's attention; secondly, it should inform about product purchase benefits in the best way. The conative function ranks first among the linguistic functions.Printed advertising has a verbal-iconic character. The brand name in advertising represents minimal linguistic utterance. Primarily, I devoted the chapter on pragmatics to conversational maxim denials. Promotional messages often don't adhere to relevancy and quality. They usually deputize indirect verbal acts. Expressions such as aqui and agora predominate in the temporal and local area of deixis and they refer the utterance to the moment and place of the speech. Institutional Reforms of the European Union

This thesis focuses on the Institutional Reforms of the European Union. At first the creation and progression and also the competences and functions of the institutions are described. The described institutions are the following: The European Commision, The Council of the European Union, The European Council, The European Court of Justice and the European Parliment. Further follows the enumeration of the most important reforms, which are brought by the Treaty of Lisbon. The main accent is set on the changes, which concern the enumerated instituions and their competences.

The Economic Efficiency of House Arrest

The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to determine whether house arrest is more economically efficient than imprisonment. House arrest was first evaluated in terms of the impact on public budgets, followed by an assessment of its overall economic efficiency. For the purposes of the analysis, the cost function of the Prison Service was estimated using the high-low method. This function made it possible to determine potential savings in the Prison Service by replacing one imprisonment with house arrest. The costs of house arrest using electronic monitoring and random checks were then calculated. The costs and potential savings are similar in amount, although significant savings in public funds by replacing imprisonment with house arrest was not demonstrated. For evaluating the overall economic efficiency, both the previous cost analyses and the conclusions of the modern economics of crime were used. In this context, house arrest is clearly more cost-efficient than imprisonment. This fact has been confirmed by the frequent use of house arrest abroad.

Analysis of supply of travel agency Exim tours

The thesis is focused on an analysis of supply of travel agency Exim tours. First, basic terms are defined, then a travel agency and its roles are generally characterized and conditions of running travel agencies are mentioned. Second, a specificity of tourism market is described. In the following part, the travel agency Exim tours is presented and its supply of holiday packages and services are described in detail. Responses to a financial crisis and to a swine flu are also mentioned. In the last past, the whole supply of the travel agency is evaluated.

The statutory bodies of the Limited Liability Company and Joint-Stock Company

In my work I deal with the statutory bodies of the Limited Liability Company and Joint-Stock Company. The agent and the board play in the above mentioned companies an irreplaceable role. On one side they act on behalf of the company, on the other side they direct the day-to-day activities of the company. My work is divided into seven chapters, in which are subsequently mentioned all the important circumstances concerning the legal status of the statutory body in the given companies, together with the discretions and duties resulting from the discharge of their office. Generally gives the work an exhaustive overview of the legal status of the statutory bodies in the given companies.

The Memory Function in Children with Developmental Problems

The diploma thesis briefly drala with the problem of memory functions of children with specific language disorder -developmental sérech impediment. The theoretical devotes to the explanation of basic terms - memory, memory in relation to speech, memory of yong learners, and memory in relation to the developmental speech impediment. The practical part offers the comparison of two groups based on a memory test. First I teste children from regular elementary schools and tried to find out thein memory kapacity. The other group was formel by children with speech impediment. I tried to compare and evaluate the experiment.

A Syntactic-semantic Anylysis of Selected Prepositional Groups

Na příkladu předložkové skupiny za + 4 jsme se zabývali rozlišením adverbiálních syntaktických funkcí formálně homonymních předložkových skupin. Naším cílem bylo formulování a otestování automatických, poloautomatických a manuálních kritérií, která na základě kontextu jednotlivé věty umožní adekvátní určení syntaktické funkce. Nutným předpokladem dosažení vytyčeného cíle je však existence přehledné a co možná jednoznačné typologie příslovečných určení, tomu jsme věnovali velkou část svého úsilí. Nejprve jsme sledovali zařazení předložkové skupiny za + 4 v rámci typologií popisovaných hlavními syntaxemi 2. poloviny 20. století a doplňovaných v dílčích otázkách dalšími relevantními pracemi. Podrobné shrnutí odhalilo mnohé rozdíly: Všeobecná shoda panovala v zásadě pouze kolem příslovečného určení místa. Příslovečné určení času jako celek bylo vymezováno také shodně, nikoli však již jeho jednotlivé podtypy. Různé přístupy se uplatňovali také ohledně výrazů typu Chytit / vést za ruku; zatahat za rukáv; viset za nohy, převažovalo však zařazení k příslovečnému určení prostředku, resp. nástroje. Zdaleka nejvíce možných řešení se nabízelo pro zařazení výrazů typu Koupil jsi za osm, prodal jsi za dva, tedy typicky spojených s přesunem peněz. The Influence of European Central Bank Interest Rates upon Consumption in Eurozone Countries

First, this paper presents basic definitions of the consumption function and gives a summary of main theoretical concepts of consumption as well as an overview and discussion of important papers on consumption. Above all, papers examining the influence of the interest rate upon consumption are accented. Furthermore it contains a brief context summary of current and potential eurozone members, work of the ECB and execution of common monetary policy. Subsequently we discuss the hypothesis of a possibly asymmetric impact of the interest rate upon consumption in individual countries, expand and justify the hypothesis based on indebtedness, wealth, etc. Empirically, hypotheses are tested on historical data of individual countries: transmission between interest rates of central banks (later the ECB) and market interest rates, correlation analysis of consumption changes and central interest rates in individual countries, correlations with year-on-year changes. Also, consumption functions are estimated using time series models while testing alternative variables in the regression equations. We discuss analysis results and methods used; the influence of the interest rate upon consumption seems to be small and the relationship type is not much different across the eurozone countries. Eventually, we outline possible implications of our results with respect to the future of the eurozone and related activity of the ECB.

Stabilized operation and short - circuit conditions within E.ON 110 kV power network supplied from Slavětice 110 kV switching station, during the period of 2011

In the Master Thesis discusses the impact of the bridge connecting the transformer to power system connection to a separate transformers. They were first analyzed the method of calculating the steady operation of the network using the Newton iterative method and the method of calculating short-circuit ratios. It describes the area Slavětice 110kV substation, which is the subject of subsequent calculations. It is also elucidating the function of the bridge connection, advantages and disadvantages. The reason for implementing the bridge operation is to increase the reliability of electricity supply to customers but the major disadvantage is the greater technical and economic performance because increased short circuit current and the need for transmission transformer 400/110kV same type with the same parameters. Point is the practical part, which contains already concrete results taken with the dispatcher software Sinaut. There is a short-circuit resistance compared to short-circuit power substation, then the burden of the elements (transformers, lines) for two specified connection alternatives and four interruptions important elements. Finally, it stated that it can be done with the bridge connection which technical measures. It was discovered that in terms of short-circuit ratios in the present time it is not possible to operate the bridge connection transformers substation Slavětice 110kV and in terms of very different parameters of transformers 400/110kV the operation is not recommended.

Bachelor thesis follows up the possibilities of using NAS in small companies and households. Theoretical part is devoted to the definition of basic concepts, introduction of device, analysis of basic and extending functions. It focuses primaly on analysis of suported comunication protocols, commonly used file systems and principles of function disk arrays. One section is dedicated to data backup and NAS server protection, marginally to wireless security, which is closely related with the theme, especially in terms of data misuse. In practical part, the basic services and setings are described at the first. In further steps, the applications and functions are introduced for their subsequent use as common user as small company.
