Game as an instrument of developing competence of problem solving
SEDLÁKOVÁ, Tereza
The thesis is concerned with game, its qualities, categories, benefits and is primarily focused on possibilities to use it as a method to develop a competence of problem solving. It deals with fact how the game can contribute to learn to solve problems. It also points out that nowadays people are overloaded by increasing exigencies in the field of problem-solving and therefore it is suitable to use new educational methods, i.e. game, to develop a competence of problem solving. The thesis is then trying to point out advantage of including games suitable for development of above mentioned competence not only in preschool institution and schooling but also in playtime activities and family education. The thesis analyses competence of problem solving as one of the key competences. Thesis's objective consists in the close introducing of possibilities to use games and game programs in the field of developing competence of problem solving.
Application of modern methods of production management in small business - Acan
Bulánková, Lucie ; Svobodová, Hana (advisor) ; Keblovská, Markéta (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with application of modern management methods, leading to improvement, acceleration and standardization of the manufacturing processes, to a small business Acan. The main objective is the verification whether it is possible to use at least part of the Toyoda company philosophy, which solves problems of the method of 8 steps, in the conditions of a small business. The method enables during eight steps to find the problem and its cause, create counter-measures, and consequentially evaluate the results. The last step is a standardization of the successful process and new cycle of the Kaizen method.
Optimization of Business Trips Schedule -Vehicle Routing Problem Application
Dvořáčková, Tereza ; Šindelářová, Irena (advisor) ; Skočdopolová, Veronika (referee)
My bachelor thesis deals with the special linear programming problems, so called distribution problems. Special attention is paid to the travelling salesman problem (TSP) and the vehicle routing problem (VRP). The introductory theoretical chapters explain mathematical models of selected distribution problems, as well the description of some heuristic methods for solving the TSP problem. The modifications of these heuristics are then applied to the real vehicle routing problem. In that real task (included in the last part of this thesis) the daily schedule for a sales representative of one unnamed Czech company is optimized. That sales representative regularly attends customers in his assigned territory and my optimization is focused on saving his time. The results obtained by means of heuristics as well by LINGO software are compared in the thesis conclusion. In chapter 3.5 the real task was modified by means of introducing new limitations, so-called time windows. The results of my thesis will be present to the company.
Project Management and Problem Solving Methods in Management Consulting
Gábor, Richard ; Hrůzová, Helena (advisor) ; Hayward, Stephen (referee)
Conducting management consulting project for Transparency International Czech Republic, the leading non-profit non-governmental organization active in anti-corruption practices, by applying selected project management and problem solving methods, the objective of the thesis is to support the assumption that proper selection and application of suitable methods to problem identification, definition and decomposition enables to come up with the solution of the problem by analyzing it with no need for further solution development.
Deregulation of rent and process of determining locally customary rent
Kolman, Ondřej ; Ševčík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Zeman, Karel (referee)
The purpose of the thesis is to evaluate the regulation and manner of deregulation in the Czech Republic. The first part describes regulation in general and interest groups approach to the deregulation of rents. In society there are many myths about rent control that are overturned at work. The rent control in the Czech Republic, the legal framework of regulation and regulation impacts are discussed in next part of the work. Then are described the impacts and possible ways of solving problems associated with deregulation. Ways of rent deregulation in selected foreign countries are compared with the way deregulation in the Czech Republic. In the practical part are analysed revenues and expenditures of owner of real estate property during the regulated years and modelled an example of fair rents made with regard to the cost of tenant and lessor.
Problem posing as a way to mathematical literacy
Tichá, Marie ; Hošpesová, A.
In our work we search for ways of development of students' mathematical literacy. We aim at students' ability to utilize mathematics as a suitable tool for understanding of the world. Our aim is that students will be able to develop their knowledge. We stress not only solving of various problems. Also problem posing gets in the centre of our considerations on mathematical education. We believe that problem posing should be one of central topics of teaching of mathematics. It could be understand as aim as well as means of education and in addition also as diagnostic and motivating tool.
Problems for the MO - breakthrough ideas, or routine manipulations?
Šimša, Jaromír
The contribution focuses on the features of problems from the Mathematical Olympiad which should distinguish them from usual problems from mathematics lessons. The author illustrates his considerations by the analysis of recent MO problems proposed by himself.
Reaction of adolescents to the problems in family: connection with self-esteem and with self-efficacy
Osecká, Lída ; Macek, Petr ; Řehulková, Oliva
The presented study is oriented to the description of relationships between adolescent coping strategies in family context and self-self variables. A sample of 316 respondents (132 girls, 184 boys, aged from 16-19) completed a survey including invetories regarding an using of different coping strategies in their own family environment. Also, both self variables, self-efficacy and self-esteem, were derived from relevant items of scales. Results did not confirm all our presumptions: Self-efficacy is mainly related to the non-expression of negative emotions (as a coping staretgy), less important predictor (but also significant) is an active rational coping. Social support is positively related to self-efficacy in girls only. In regard to boys, this relationship is negative. Self-esteem is positively related to the non-expression of negative emotions in boys, the active rational coping is significant predictor of self-esteem in girls.
Creating problems for the Mathematical Olympiad
Šimša, Jaromír
The contribution presents the authorďs personal view of the history and present state of the selection of problems for the Mathematical Olympiad in the Czech republic.
Ant Colony Optimization
Zahálka, Jaroslav ; Fábry, Jan (advisor) ; Zouhar, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with Ant Colony algorithms and their usage for solving Travelling Salesman Problems and Vehicle Routing Problems. These algorithms are metaheuristics offering new approach to solving NP-hard problems. Work begins with a description of the forementioned tasks including ways to tackle them. Next chapter analyses Ant Colony metaheuristic and its possible usage and variations. The most important part of the thesis is practical and is represented by application Ant Colony Optimization Framework. It is easily extensible application written in Java that is able to solve introduced problems. In conclusion this work presents analysis of solutions on test data.
