Julio-Cesar Santoyo and his contribution to the development of translation studies
Zlatohlavá, Petra ; Králová, Jana (advisor) ; Ježková, Slavomíra (referee)
The purpose of this work is to evaluate the contribution of Julio-César Santoyo, a contemporary Spanish theoretician, to the development of translation studies. We have provided an overall summary of his work together with an overview of its reception. The analysis of individual works and theoretical knowledge is preceded by an overview of theoretical concepts applied in the 20th century Spain, which serves as an outline of the context and environment which influences this theoretician. We have focused on all three aspects of his work, i.e. theory, criticism and history of translation. Our task was to provide a complete insight into his thinking within these disciplines. Our analysis is based not only on his book publications but also on numerous specialized articles which he has been continuously publishing throughout his entire academic career. Within the translation theory field we have focused on particular issues Santoyo deals with in his works, mainly on defining the meaning, purpose and position of translation in miscellaneous areas of human knowledge and on topics closely linked with translation. Let us mention for example the endosmosis and exosmosis translation concept, limits of translation, transient nature of translation or reflections upon the role of translation in literature as well as upon...

Changes in Land Use According to Selected Physic-geographical Division of Bohemia Territory
Platzký, Tomáš ; Oršulák, Tomáš (referee) ; Bičík, Ivan (advisor)
6 Abstract Landscape as a result of log-term interaction between nature and society reflects both natural and societal processes, because the environment is the consequence of mutual interactions between human and nature. Aside economical, social and political factors, we have to aim on environmetal factors too. The landscape changes are posible to determine mainly from the land use and land cover changes. Land and land use structure are important indices of economic and environmental potential of the given teritory. The diploma thesis engages in the the assessment of long-term changes in teritory of Bohemia devided by selected geographical units (morphographic units, geomorfological units, and catchment area of II. degree) in the period 1845 - 2000. The monitoring of land use changes was executed in periods determined by important historical milestones of Czech history (1845, 1948, 1990 and 2000). The aim of the thesis was to expound specific land use changes within selected geographical regions through statistical indicators. The thesis assesses the land use changes within geographical region in relations to particular environmental and socioeconomic influences (withdrawal of Germans from border regions etc.). Key words: Land use change- drivnig forces - morphographical units - geomorphological units -...

The phenomenon of the loft space in movies
Peťovský, Marek
The aim of the text is to present my research, summary and analysis of selected loft spaces. This task raises an effort to characterize the loft space, presenting its airiness, excitement or a new metaphysical side. This thesis is showing various ways, in which space functions in movies, such as the relationship with time and space, or just focusing on the loft space itself. The aim of this thesis is to discover the role of the architecture in a movie and how space can influence its characters. The thesis itself is devoted to the discussion on architecture, on how our houses and cities and landscapes are to be formed, it is closely bound up with reflections on how we want to live. In short, one’s view of architecture is one’s view of society. Architecture is not an isolated field; it relates to the surrounding society and our way of thinking and living. In this sense, architecture expresses both our capacity for civilization and our cultural identity. On this basis I consider to focus on the small scale, from the perspective of specific people’s lives. People who decided to live in a loft, which is not the same as losing sight of the big issues. When it comes to our dreams about our dwellings, we are all experts. Dwelling is a human relationship with the world. Before we can build we must be able to dwell, which means we must reflect over our being in the world. Dwelling is about space in the world. Space can be possessed, made and taken. It can be used, exploited, shared and transferred. A person without space is not present, not living anywhere, has no connection. Dwelling introduces something you can be a part of and manifest yourself in. To sum up, we believe that architecture, design and movies influence each other more than we can imagine.

Analysis of chosen factors influencing the decision about educational level in the Czech Republic
Vaňková, Radka ; Bolcha, Peter (advisor) ; Bydžovský, Jiří (referee)
The graduates of universities in most cases will have better future than the graduates of lower levels of education not only in terms of higher wages, but also social status in broader sense. In spite of this not all graduates of secondary education choose to continue in tertiary education. That is why this bachelor work deals with chosen factors, that could have the impact on the individual's choice about tertiary educational level. Theoretical part mainly stands upon the publications and papers of Gary S. Becker and Jacob Mincer, on the human capital analysis and also on the documents, annual reports and data of OECD and Czech Statistical Office. For purposes of empirical check we use the data from the Czech Republic. To answer our question we use the method of regression analysis and the test of hypothesis about equality of two mean values. The goal of this paper was to find out if and how the chosen variables influence the individual's decision to graduate the tertiary education mentioned above, and to interpret measured outcomes in the context of the relevant theories. In the Czech Republic setting we have not found evidence that exogenous variables have significant impact on endogenous variable (even thought in some foreign papers this impact was evidence). However some outcomes led to interesting findings and showed possible factors entering to human decisions.

Camps and waters: Malý Medvědí Tábor as part of a North Bohemian Mesolithic landscape
Svoboda, Jiří ; Novák, J. ; Novák, Martin ; Pokorný, P. ; Sázelová, Sandra
The paper introduces a newly discovered Mesolithic rock shelter Malý medvědí tabor, located in the canyon of the Svitávka River. The excavation revealed intact Mesolithic layers, rich in charcoals and a hearth feature outlined by sandstone blocks. Analyses of the environmental data, fauna, and lithic artefacts are included. In sum, the occupation of the rock shelter was rather episodic, nevertheless the site is of domestic character, as suggested by the richness and character of artefacts. The surrounding vegetation can be reconstructed as a sparse pine forests with common spread of hazel, oak and early successional vegetation with aspen and birch. Given a presence of a nearby peat-bog at Velenice, this new site serves as an important reference point for prehistoric human presence in the Svitavka river valley.

The preparation of revitalisation impact in "Rašeliniště Kapličky"
KOPECKÁ, Ladislava
The peat-bog Kapličky is a nature reserve located on the right shore of the Lipno Dam which we can find in the east part of the Šumava mountains in the Vyšebrodsko nature park. The purpose of my paper is to describe the damage of a part of the peat-bog caused by the human activities in the past. The peat was extracted for the fuel activities. It has led to degradation and the overgrowing of expansive species. Therefore I prepare the foundation for the practical realisation of the peat-bog revitalisation. My paper also includes the monitoring of the ground water level at 14-day-intervals, monitoring of vegetation and its alternations in consequence of water cycle. My paper links to Lenka Pavelcová the magister thesis.

I deseribe this loeal eultural landseape and its genius loci. I write about the loeal popular arehiteeture whieh is very famous and other speeifie things whieh helped in establishing original eulture in Blata area. The Blata eulturallandseape was ereated under the influenee of people. We ean find here natural plaees for example peat bogs whieh were used by loeal people without deep interventi on in balanee of nature. Than there are wheat fields whieh had its important plaee in the past. And more over there are roral houses whieh eomplement the landseape and support the natural beauty of the eountryside. The villages in Blata with its famous gables bring the human system in the landseape. They are symbols of safety and eertainty for loeal people.

Vegetation changes in transition bogs at fishpond epilitorals
Spilka, Josef ; Karlík, Petr (advisor) ; Kindlmann, Pavel (referee)
This study concerns in a three peatland sites: the epilitorals of Pilská reservoir and Hořejší Padrťský fishpond in Příbram region and Kamenný fishpond in Pilsen. These peat-bobg were affected by negative conseqences of human activities. The aim of this study is to find out what kind these changes was and what extent they were. The changes in vegetation were observed from two points of view. The GIS analyses of aerial photographs represent the macroscale view. Repeating of old phytosociological relevées was the microscale view. To understand the cause of vegetation changes, the species-environment analyses were used. Four transects were made for this purpose and a water table level, pH and conductivity were mesured monthly along these transects. One-shot measurements of N and P water concentration and a peat depth were also carried out. Measured data from transects were uses in multivariate vegetation analyses and also in one- way analysis, aimed to an expansion plant species. All three sites of concern came through strong changes in past. In all of them the area of biotops of great conservation importance decreased and some endangered plant species have been lost there. The changes in Pilská reservoir epilitoral were mostly anthropogenic, whereas the mires of Hořejší Padrťský fishpond and Kamenný...
