The dollar's status in the global economy with emphasis on recent developments

This thesis analyzes the current position of the U.S. dollar in the global economy. The first chapter focuses on the historical evolution of the position of the dollar against the background of the development of the whole international monetary system. The main part is focused on the current status of the dollar, which is examined on three fundamental functions of money - a store of value, unit of account and medium of exchange. The last chapter deals with possible scenario for the future status of the dollar.
Foreign trade of the USA from mid 90's to present

This paper examines foreign trade of the economy of the United States between years 1995 and 2009. First chapter describes the USA in general and focuses on position of its economy in the world. Development during recent economic crisis is also included in this chapter. Second chapter details american economy in the last 15 years and indicates that trade deficits are a chronic disease of the US. economy. Trade policy of the United States is discussed in the third chapter. The most important trade agreements which the USA have made with other countries are listed as well. The last chapter analyses the commodity and teritorial structure of american foreign trade. It finds out that the worst situation for the USA is in trade with China and in commodities. Final summary recapitulates previous chapters and explains why it is very difficult to make predictions for the future.
Social security in the USA and in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis deals with social security in the United States of America and in the Czech Republic. The thesis consists of four chapters. Introductory charter describes the history and development of social security law in the Czech Republic, defines key terms and identifies the sources of law. The second chapter provides a description of the social security system in the U.S. and outlines key elements of health reform. The third chapter focuses on the social security legislation in the Czech Republic and also describes the International Treaty on Social Security between the U.S. and the Czech Republic. The last chapter contains a comparison of the various areas of both states.

In my work I am focusing on the role of the United States of America in International trade. In the first chapter I deal with the history of the foreign policy of the USA. In the second chapter I describe the basics principles of the trade agreements between the United States of America and other countries or group of countries. The third chapter is devoted to trade relationships between the USA and the main business partners -- the European Union, the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation and Mercosur. The last chapter characterized the role of the USA in the 21st century.
Czechoslovakia and the Marshall plan

The goal of my thesis is to characterize the role of the Marshall Plan of economic and political development of Czechoslovakia in the years 1945 to 1947. I'd like to focus on the status of the Czechoslovak economy after World War II, the principle of the Marshall Plan and related political negotiations based on the unreleased studio (archive Czech National Bank, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Archives) and issued by the sources and similar literature. Furthermore, I would like to analyze the response of individual political parties to become familiar with the discussions in newspapers and other media where appropriate. Consequently, I'm going to analyze Soviet policy in relation to Marshall plan. Attention will be also paid to the causes and consequences of the rejection of the Marshall Plan by Czechoslovakia and the subsequent effect on the orientations of Czechoslovakia and Eastern Europe in the coming years.
Transnational corporations in the USA, their influence on american and world economy

This thesis deals with the transnational corporations in the USA. The first chapter is devoted to the general characteristics of multinational corporations in the world, the capital flows, mainly in the form of foreign direct investment and the current trends in this sphere. The second chapter is focused on the historical aspect of the development of the transnational companies in the world as well as in the United States. The last chapter analyzes the current situation, the position of the US based multinational companies in the world and their impact on the economies of individual countries and the domestic american economy. In conclusion all the sections are summarized with the outlook to the future.
