The connection between personal characterology and physique
Knesplová, Monika ; Bahbouh, Radvan (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
This thesis deals theoretically and practically with the relationship between the physical, especially constitutional, characteristics and temperament. Constitutional approaches, especially theories of Ernst Kretschmer and Wiliam Sheldon, belong to the oldest approaches in psychology that link these two aspects and perceive them as two sides of the same coin. Holistic approach linking psychological and physical aspects of personality can be found also in non-European medical systems. One of the oldest medical teaching in the world is Ayurveda. It integrates physique and temperament and uses them for therapeutical purposes. The subject of the theoretical part was to present these theories, guidelines and other areas, that strived for interconnection of the physical and psychological aspects of human individual. In the practical part the goal was to empirically assess the substantiation of somatic types used in Kretschmer's theory and Ayurveda. The next goal was to focus on the relationship of selected physical aspects and temperament. For these purposes we used a questionnaire 4 Elements Inventory which applies the metaphor of elements, that appears also in Ayurveda. Further we created Questionnaire of Physical Characteristics that consists of three parts: the first part inquires about the...

Delegitimization of the West in Al Qaeda's Magazine Inspire
Brzá, Magdaléna ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Ditrych, Ondřej (referee)
The Master's thesis Delegitimization of the west in Al Qaeda's Magazine Inspire focuses on the techniques of terrorist group's propaganda aimed at individuals of Arab descent and Islam faith residing in one of the western countries. Thesis analyses sixteen issues of digital magazine Inspire published since 2010 by Al Qaeda affiliate in Yemen called AQAP - Al Qaeda in Arabian Peninsula. Terrorist attacks by so called lone-wolfs on the territory of western states have had increasing tendency in the last decade. The phenomenon of online propaganda and radicalisation through social networks is progressively becoming one of the major challenges for western security services. Grasping the sociological and psychological aspects of lone wolfs' drivers for conducting terrorist attacks is thus crucial. The underpinning theory of the thesis is framing analysis together with the concept of delegitimization. Thesis traces the production and use of five framing tools - metaphor, catchphrases, depiction, exemplars and visual images (which are the combination of studies done by Fairhurst & Sarr and Gamson & Modigliani 1989). Second part of the thesis links the framing tools with three stages of the delegitimization of the west - a crisis of confidence, a conflict of legitimacy and a crisis of legitimacy. The...

U3V VŠE a počítačová gramotnost v systému celoživotního vzdělávání
Hnilička, Jakub ; Horný, Stanislav (advisor) ; Vilím, Tomáš (referee)
Computer literacy has recently emerged as a new topic, complementing traditional literacy. While this issue affects every one of us, it is particularly important for people of post-productive age, who have not been able to become acquainted with information technology during their professional life. The National Computer Literacy Program provided a great opportunity to eliminate this illiteracy; unfortunately it came to an end together with termination of the Ministry of Informatics of the Czech Republic. It is striking that the State has been preparing projects in the area of e-Government, electronic census and electronic elections without having any developmental strategy for users of these ambitious projects. An opportunity to improve personal skills after the end of a professional career is provided by the University of the Third Age at the University of Economics, where students learn to use not only computers, but also the multimedia in the Graphic and Multimedia Laboratory. Unfortunately, this university is not accessible to everyone. The limitations consist particularly in the precondition of completed secondary education, but also in the available capacity. Thus, an option that is really available to everyone lies in the commercial sector, which offers a wide range of courses. These courses are provided either by software companies or by the ECDL (European Computer Driving License).

Art spaces outside institutional frames: differential spaces of art
Piškur, Bojana ; Wittlich, Petr (advisor) ; Pachmanová, Martina (referee) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (referee)
The aim of this dissertation is to direct attention towards differential way of approaching spaces of art, on the basis of Lefebvrian space production. But the space production in question is just one aspect which cannot be isolated from the wider social environment. While differential spaces of art seem to be - in theory at least- an ideal place for discussion within recent debates on representation, culture, identity and so on, they have nevertheless been relatively isolated from these perspectives. The main reason is that it is impossible to analyze the actual production of differential spaces. lt is possible, however, to elucidate and expose the production and the product - space (they are inevitably connected) - through first-hand experiences (participation), and through secondary sources such as documentary materials, newspaper articles, interviews etc. Production of differential spaces of art can be recognized in the following spatialities: appropriated spaces, embodied spaces, spaces of the so called "third sector", and inner spaces of mind, to name the examples described in the dissertation. lt also seeks answers to questions: what is specific to the production of differential spaces of art? What is the relationship between different spatialities? Between differential spaces of art and the...

Practical use of multiple criteria decision making methods to evaluate commercial chains, cheese category, in Czech Republic
Slavík, Vladimír ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Skočdopolová, Veronika (referee)
The subject of diploma thesis is the evaluation of commercial chains, cheese category, in Czech Republic. The methodology is based on the multicriteria rating of alternatives. In the evaluation of commercial chains may take into account the large number of criteria are used, here are 26, which evaluates 14 alternatives (stores). To evaluate the commercial chains are used preferences of general public and experts. The main objective of the diploma thesis is to determine which store is the best for customers (general public) and for professionals, and then to compare the results.Secondary objective is to explore the possibility of using the multicriteria rating of alternatives methods in praxis.

Higher education in Austria: the rule of law , case studies and implications for Czech Republic
Kravcivová, Aneta ; Neumann, Pavel (advisor) ; Antal, Jarolím (referee)
In 2015, Wien Wirtschafsuniversität ranked among economic universities regularly disclosed on the Financial Times in position number 42. The University of Economics last three years, around 80th place. Why is this so? In the context of this thesis is to analyze not only the legal prerequisites for successful graduates of the master's program Finance and Accounting, but also deals with the practical use of knowledge on the labor market resp. As well as the current unemployment of graduates in what fields they can work, etc. In this work also deals with the human capital theory, which explores the motives for higher education. They are given different conditions during their studies at WU and Economics, as well as development starting salary after graduation. The last chapter contains examples that would be good to apply in the Czech higher education system. The question remains, why WU placed on better positions than ALL? According to the author's investment in science and research in Austria - currently invest nearly 2% of GDP, as well as 100-year-old development WU, when no interruption to develop economic theory and their application in practice, as well as linking university knowledge with practice.

Kinematics and elastokinematics of independent multi-link suspension of axle using flexible supporting elements
Vrána, Tomáš ; Kovanda, Jan (advisor) ; Ladislav, Ladislav (referee)
This thesis deals with elasto-kinematic properties of multi-link rear suspension system, based on simulations. The creation of computational model and simulation of elastokinematics are based on specialized modules of the HyperWorks software. The thesis idea is to create new models and improve their properties. The chapter introduction presents and discusses the current knowledge state in the issue of elasto-kinematic characteristics of the vehicle suspension. Previously published works are presented in this section. The following section defines basic terms, features and design elements concerning the topic vehicle suspension and vehicle axle, which can help readers to orientate in this field. The first part of the thesis is focused on the collection of high-quality input data to create the MBS computational model based on the real suspension components. The determination of kinematic suspension points, experimental measurements of inertia moments of supporting elements of the suspension and measurements of deformation characteristics of rubber-metal bushings are presented in the thesis. There are also measuring characteristics of force elements such as springs or shock absorbers. Then the proposed method of measuring elasto-kinematic characteristics of the suspension using testing machine for model validation is also introduced. The second and main part is devoted to creating a new MBS simulation models of multi-link rear suspension using HyperWorks system. The suspension model is improved by successive steps, from kinematic model, through model with flexibility of the bushings, to the complex model in which the flexible properties of all supporting elements are reflected. The properties of the used models are described together with arising calculation problems. The results discuss the impact of elements flexibility and individual structural alternatives on elasto-kinematic characteristics of the suspension system.

Independent Traction Drive with Low-Voltage Induction Machine
Matucha, Tomáš ; Skalický, Jiří (advisor)
This work deals with creation of an exact mathematical model of a traction drive with low-voltage induction machine (28 V) which is fed from accumulators. This model was developed in MATLAB – Simulink and consists of induction machine model, inverter model and load model. Vector Control was added to models connected together. This complex model allows considering many effects into simulations. These effects are commonly neglected, although they have significant influence on drive behaviour, especially by using low-voltage machine. It is impact of magnetic circuit saturation, impact of temperature and skin effect on winding resistance, impact of inverter nonlinearities such as on-state voltage drops on switching elements, dead times and transistors switching times. The attention was paid to determination of losses in drive parts. The correctness of the model was verified at laboratory workplace established for this purpose. The laboratory drive can be controlled by a microprocessor or by using MATLAB and dSPACE application. The influence of compensations of inverter nonlinearities and DC-link voltage ripple on higher harmonics of inverter output currents was analyzed. Furthermore, the control, which decreased resistive losses, was solved.

Raman optical activity and conformation of structurally important groups in peptides and proteins
Kubáňová, Markéta ; Baumruk, Vladimír (advisor) ; Kapitán, Josef (referee)
Raman optical activity (ROA) represents a modern spectroscopic technique that can be applied to a wide range of chiral molecules starting from small organic molecules up to complex biomolecular systems. Among other things ROA provides information about solution structure of peptides and proteins. The aim of the thesis was to determine the relationship between three-dimensional structure and Raman optical activity of disulphide and amide groups in peptides. Characteristic band patterns of the polyproline II conformation (left-handed 31-helix) were found in the ROA spectra of poly(Pro-Gly-Pro), oxytocin and hinge peptide linked to the antigen sequence. ROA signal in the S-S and C-S stretching region was observed in ROA spectra of model cyclodextrin compounds connected with disulphide bonds. Positive ROA band in the S-S stretching region was found in the ROA spectrum of oxytocin (the peptide with one S-S bridge). According to the theoretical studies of model disulphides, positive ROA signal in this region indicates positive dihedral angle C- S-S-C. This result is in agreement with the crystal structure. We have also worked on extension of ROA measurements to the hydrogen stretching region (2500-3200 cm-1).
