Usage of the product in school canteens
Vodička, Jan ; Šánová, Petra (advisor) ; Hrubcová, Barbora (referee)
The thesis is focused on the consumer interest in a new product on the market, for this purpose, freshly chopped apples in a hygienic bag with a shelf life of 12 days. The aim of this thesis is to determine whether school representatives will show interest in this product or not. The methodology of the work itself involves the creation and evaluation of two questionnaire surveys, which were attended by 69 school representatives and 116 parents of children aged 3 to 15 years. The results of the survey have shown that these schools cannot offer children fresh, washed, hygienically prepared fruit, designated for direct consumption on field-trips, sporting events, etc., hence they would be willing to buy this new product for children in schools. The questionnaire survey, which concerned children's parents, showed that parents do not find the offer of fruit and healthy food in schools sufficient and they would like this product to be sold mostly in school cafeterias and snack machines.

Guth, Karel ; Kopecká, Lenka (advisor) ; Soukup, Alexandr (referee)
The following thesis describes the importance of the central bank in the states economy and its position in the structure of the banking and financial system. It deals with its monetary policy and functions such as the role of the state bank, issuance activity or the regulation and supervision of commercial banks. The theoretical part is concluded by describing the Maastricht convergence criteria, which is built on in a questionnaire survey of the practical part. The practical part is divided into two sections. The first is focused on the exchange rate as a monetary tool of the Czech National Bank. It attempts to compare how successfully CNB has achieved its predictions from 2014 (the year when the foreign exchange interventions were initiated). The second section contains an interpretation of the results from the survey, with the aim of identifying the attitudes of Czech citizens towards adopting the euro currency. Subsequently, testing of a statistical hypothesis for contingency between selected issues was performed and connections within the columnar frequency of the contingency tables were observed and picked out.

The first part aims to provide basic findings about adventure fiction, i.e. general characteristic, brief historical account and individual genres. Then an overview of Zeyer's shorter adventure proses, which will be analysed further on, follows. The next chapter examines to what extent and in what way adventurousness was becoming a part of metalanguage about Zeyer's work. Concerns and preparations for pension – November 2016
Čadová, Naděžda ; Malina, Ondřej
In November, the Public Opinion Research Center of the Academy of Sciences interviewed citizens of the Czech Republic on topic of financial security in pension. Questions were focused not only on subjective concerns over lack of economic resources or trust in welfare state but also on actual preparations, namely investments and savings. The results suggest that the economic prosperity of the country in last few months reflected itself into optimism of the Czech population regarding to awaited retirement. Still, there is an alarmingly small number of people with bad living conditions who cannot save up for their future.

A global comparison of Czech and Slovak academic journals based on their Impact Factor (IF) and Article Influence Score (AIS)
Münich, Daniel ; Škoda, Samuel
We compare the scores in the widely used citation index of academic journals known as Impact Factor (IF) with the lesser known but more sophisticated index Article Influence Score (AIS). There is a positive correlation between the relative IF and AIS scores within fields, but the spread is quite high. The difference between the IF and AIS scores is caused by differences in the extent of journal self-citation and in the academic importance of the journals from which journal articles are cited. Czech publication output in relatively major journals tends to be concentrated in journals with a lower AIS than IF. These articles also tend to be concentrated in a rather small number of international journals. In many fields, Czech publication output is concentrated in Czech and Slovak journals, most of which have relatively low AIS and IF. The IF and AIS of some Czech journals are entirely outside the natural range of scores worldwide.

Topinková, Kateřina ; Krebs, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Brabec, Petr (referee)
The thesis aims to critically compare liberal and mandatory health systems, and based on detected advantages and disadvantages of each, propose certain solutions and recommendations to optimize the health care system. During this task it also puts into context historical, legal and ethical backgrounds which strongly influence the system set up. Optimal adjustment of the health care system is an issue that worries most of the world's countries and this thesis, with it's unbiased evaluation, proposes suggestions on potential better functionality and effectiveness of health care. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the major economical terms connected to health care and the typology of healthcare systems. In the following practical part, the US and the Czech healthcare systems are analyzed as the representatives of the liberal and the traditional mandatory health care systems by the international comparison method and the result shows positive experiences from the systems, applicable especially for the Czech Republic.

Vliv Evropské unie na konflikt v Kolumbii
Gregůrková, Lucie ; Antal, Jarolím (advisor) ; Němcová, Ingeborg (referee)
Colombia has been suffering from internal armed conflict since the 1960s. The European Union decided to interfere in the conflict s resolution in the beginning of the millennium with several means. This thesis aims to analyse the effect of the European Union s actions on the evolution of the Colombian conflict and to consider whether it has contributed to peace in Colombia. The European Union s real actions towards Colombia will be compared firstly with recommendations of two theoretical concepts, provided by Johan Galtung and John Paul Lederach, and secondly with the legislative framework of the European Union. Even though the European Union s development efforts in Colombia were evaluated as contributing to peace in Colombia, separate actions of some European Union s Member States, organizations or citizens were found to have the opposite impact. Thus, it is advisable for the European Union to develop a framework ensuring consistency and coherence of the European Union s both internal and external activities.
