The effect of local heating on indoor and outdoor air quality in a rural settlement
Kozáková, Jana ; Braniš, Martin (advisor) ; Hovorka, Jan (referee)
Increased concentrations of particulate matter do not occur in urban areas only, they occur in winter time episodes of high concentrations in small settlements, as well. It is probably caused by usage of solid fuels in domestic heating. The indoor air quality is closely influenced by the outdoor air pollution. Concentrations of size-separated PM were measured by a cascade impactor (PCIS) during two winter and one summer seasons in the years 2009 and 2010 in a village Svrčovec situated near the town Klatovy. Continuous concentrations of PM2.5 were measured in parallel by using a commercial photometer DustTrak. Following meteorological parameters were monitoring - temperature, relative humidity, wind velocity, wind direction, precipitation and sun radiation. The presence of persons and their activities in the house were noted. The average PM10 concentrations in Svrčovec were higher than average PM10 concentration in Klatovy. The summer average PM10 concentrations in Svrčovec were lower than the concentrations in the town (15.5 μg/m3, 17.4 μg/m3) and the winter PM10 concentrations in Svrčovec were significantly higher (31.1 μg/m3, 24.3 μg/m3). The average indoor concentrations (PM10 and PM2.5) were lower in the summer (9.6 μg/m3, 8.3 μg/m3) than in the winter season (24.0 μg/m3, 20.7...

Alluvial stratigraphy of the Líně Formation, Central Bohemian Basins.
Podzimková, Petra ; Martínek, Karel (advisor) ; Opluštil, Stanislav (referee)
Líně Formation is the youngest basin fill unit of the Upper Palaeozoic Central and Western Bohemian basins. Deposits of the Líně Formation were being laid down in Stephanian C time, after an unconformity between Stephanian B and C. The deposits of Líně Formation are continental red beds usually dominated by mudstones with less common appearance of sandstones and conglomerates, originated mostly as fluvial deposits. Lacustrine deposition originated in deposition of less frequented fossiliferous claystones, carbonates of variegated and grey colors, coal occur occasionaly. The study area was at Kladno part of the Kladno- Rakovník Basin, Roudnice part and west half of Mšeno part of Mšeno-Roudnice Basin. Seismic sections were interpreted and correlations of boreholes based on lithology, gama and resistivity ray were made. Scientific borehole K-1 (Klobuky) drilled in 2009 showing 30 m long succession of Klobuky Horizon was described and interpreted too. The interpretations of approximately N-S oriented seismic sections show depressions on the base of Líně Formation. This morphology seems to affect direction and area of sediment deposition at the beginning of Líně Formation sedimentation in the study area. Well-log correlations show main areas of sediment deposition in the west and north of Roudnice part...

Analysis and modelling the changes of water quality in the Olšava river basin.
Kaiglová, Jana ; Langhammer, Jakub (advisor) ; Kliment, Zdeněk (referee)
The main goal of the thesis is to create an accurate model of the current state of water quality modelling in the river basin. The basin of the Olšava River, as found in the bachelor thesis "Analysis of Water Quality in the Basin", is polluted with large concentrations of total phosphorus PTot. The master thesis analyses sources of nutrients in the basin that is mainly listed in the vulnerable areas indentified under the Nitrates Directive 91/676/EEC, on the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources. For the water resources management and environmental policy is crucial to recognize distribution of pollution sources throughout main categories. The thesis is concerned with the seasonal variability of the average mass concentrations along the river channel. Broadly used mathematical modelling software of water quality is discussed in the sense of reliability, availability and user interface. Last but not least is a suggestion of two improvements of the water quality based on the MIKE Basin modelling software. The main aim of these proposals is to be realistic in the economical and environmental sense. Proposals consider both in point and non-point sources. Key words: Mathematical modelling, MIKE Basin, Water Quality, Water Quality models, Hydrology, Olšava

Influence of Resource Sharing on Performance
Babka, Vlastimil ; Bulej, Lubomír (referee) ; Tůma, Petr (advisor)
Resource sharing occurs when multiple active processes or software components compete for system resources, which influences the observed performance compared to an individual execution. Isolated benchmarking of durations of key operations for solving of performance prediction models may therefore yield imprecise results. Resource sharing also occurs between the measured code and the benchmark infrastructure for obtaining and storing samples, imposing an indirect overhead. This thesis quantifies the effects of sharing on performance for several resources that are often shared, namely the processor caches and the file systems. The highest possible performance impact of cache sharing is determined by synthetic benchmarks. Impact on practical code and its dependency on a number of factors such as cache trashing frequency and intensity are then determined by experiments with existing implementations of FFT and LZW algorithms and a video stream processing application. Effects of file system sharing are measured by experiments that read and write multiple files simultaneously. For both resources, situations with significant performance impact of sharing have been observed. Based on the results of the experiments, several suggestions for dealing with the overhead of performance monitoring infrastructure are...

Time of primar rehabilitation and care by patients with fracture of proximal femure
Lehovec, Roman ; Douša, Pavel (advisor)
The topic of the thesis I chose on the basis of their interest in the subject orthopedics . Fractures of the proximal femur fractures are among the most common and most serious. Incidence with us around 50 to 60 to l00 000 inhabitants a rising trend. Surely it plays an important role increasing middle life expectancy. (14) Fractures of the femoral neck and intertrochanteric fractures occur virtually same frequency . The average age of patients with fractures of the proximal femur is 77 years and the proportion of women and men is 3:1 ( 14). Intertrochanteric fractures that represent about 10 % of fractures of the proximal femur have two peaks occurrence , between 20-40 years and in patients over 60 years old . In younger arise as result of high energy trauma in the elderly etiology is the same as the cause of other fractures of the proximal femur. The mechanism of injury is the most direct impact on the trochanter during a fall to the side or limb external rotation during the fall forward. (14) For the treatment of hip fractures osteosynthesis or prosthesis use . The method of choice in the treatment of trochanteric fracture osteosynthesis . (15) The aim of this work was to evaluate patients treated at the Orthopedic - Traumatology Clinic of the Faculty Hospital in Prague for fracture the proximal femur in...

Financial resources of small and medium enterprises, Sintex a. s.
Hedvíková, Petra ; Staňková, Anna (advisor) ; Janouch, Zdeněk (referee)
The subject of my dissertation "Financial resources of small and medium enterprises" is the question of small and medium enterprises and their financial resources. I chose one textile factory for my analysis. There are supportive pragrammes mentioned in this part of my dissertation. The graduation thesis is devided to three parts. The first one is focused on definitions -- enterprise, enterpriser, legal form. In this chapter is definition of small and medium enterprises (SME) according to EU directive. We find there the advantages and disadvantages of SME, too. The second part attends to clasify financing posssibilities. We know own, external and alternative financial resources. In the last chapter of my dissertation we can find analysis of financial resources of particular textile factory Sintex, a. s.

Origami as didacktical environment in matematical education
Boháčová, Jana ; Roubíček, Filip (advisor) ; Vondrová, Naďa (referee)
The thesis deals with origami as a learning environment in mathematics education. The two main aims of the thesis are to show the possibilities of using origami in various areas of mathematics teaching and learning, especially in synthetic geometry and calculations in geometry, and to suggest specific origami-based activities for secondary education. First, origami is introduced in its historical context and its geometrical axioms are described. Further, advantages and difficulties of using origami in mathematics education are discussed, with respect to the type and level of school. The fundamental part of the thesis consists of description and didactical analysis of tasks based on folding of an equilateral triangle and various polyhedra. Some of these tasks are adapted from other resources, some were designed by the author. Based on direct experience with employing origami-based tasks in different classrooms, methodological recommendations are added to the individual analyses, facilitating the practical usage of the thesis.
