Atheism in America
Koranda, David ; Robbins, David Lee (advisor) ; Ulmanová, Hana (referee)
This diploma work analyzes the contemporary rise of the number of atheists in the United States of America, basing this presupposition on numerous nation-wide surveys, primarily conducted by Gallup Poll and Pew Research Center. It goes into depth on the definition of atheism and strictly delineates the meaning of this word and the use of its alternatives in the work. Given the fact that the thesis is written by a Czech author, it also provides necessary background covering the differences between Czech atheism and American atheism. Since the work is purposely not one of literary analysis but rather of socio-political and cultural nature, reasons for this decision are given in a separate subchapter analyzing Flannery O'Connor's novel Wise Blood. History of atheism in America is touched upon in the beginning of Chapter 3, but since the fundamental focus of this work is on the contemporary state of affairs, the roots of modern atheism in America are sought after mainly in the twentieth century. In particular, the greatest causes of the weakening of church's power and the rise of secularism (or atheism, for that matter) are given as following: Madalyn Murray O'Hair's fights against church's influence in public schools and against its public funding; the argument about the non-scientific nature of belief...

Kalita, Inna ; Marvan, Jiří (advisor) ; Brandner, Aleš (referee) ; Hentschel, Gerd (referee)
The work is dedicated to the language situation in Belarus at the turn of the 20th and the 21st century. It presents the Belarusian language situation in the context of the East Slavic languages and in a more widespread, postcolonial language continuum which finds itself in a new development phase. The contemporary language situation in Belarus is characterized by historical interferential influence; an emphasis is put on its binary nature which may be found in all spheres, and demonstrates the inevitability of a complex analysis. The work deals with the degrees of the contemporary interference, touches upon the process of mutual influence and its impact on the contemporary East Slavic languages is studied on the example of the adaptation of "cerkovnoslovjanizm" (the language of the Orthodox Church). The aim of the work is to present a common language situation in Belarus which has been developing in the situation of asymmetrical bilingual direction. Anyway, the work doesn't claim to describe all the characteristics concerning language interference in Belarus. The real contemporary bilingual situation is described. The level of speech interference is analyzed in detail. "Trasyanka", as the type of the language used in Belarus, is described in a special chapter and it is focused at summarizing previous...

The thesis is divided up into several parts. The first is concerned with elaborating the various subject matters for educational programs and the relevant first-academic-level* textbooks. Simultaneously, it also assesses the achieved level of practical activities and environmentalism of the two The part focused on research pursues to determine the educational methods of discovering nature, as applied in the biology classes. This part also pays attention to the general interest and encouragement towards practical activities on the pedagogues' part. The survey results are then charted into graphs. In the practical part I mean to focus on establishing the biology topics relevant for the first-academic-leveľ pedagogues, which should enable them to variegate the biology classes so that the students could enjoy the immediate quality experience of their very own observations. The proposals have been appended with work sheets and protocols. The appendix consists of several filled- out questionnaires and work sheets. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Modelling and Using of McKibben Pneumatic Muscle in Haptic
Kopečný, Lukáš ; Janotková, Eva (referee) ; Nevřiva,, Pavel (referee) ; Šolc, František (advisor)
This work describes exceptional properties of McKibben pneumatical muscle and introduces its state-of-the-art model. The mathematical model is extended especially in a field of a thermodymical behavior. A new model applies a method used for describing of a thermodynamical behavior of pneumatic cylinders until now. This method is significantly upgraded to fit a muscle behavior, particularly by considering a heat generated by a muscle internal natural friction. The model is than verified and discussed with a real system. The haptic part introduces a development and design of a haptic glove interface for the use in robotics, especially in telepresence, or in VR. The force and touch feedback is provided by Pneumatic Muscles controlled by an open loop algorithm using the introduced mathematical model. The design is light and compact.

Economic Diplomacy in the 21st Century
Sláma, Tomáš ; Plechanovová, Běla (advisor) ; Kučerová, Irah (referee)
This study examines the changing nature of the economic diplomacy in past and recent years. Since the end of the Cold War, there has been an important dynamics in the international relations. The consequences of this dynamics touch also the economic diplomacy, which is transformed by the effects of the economic globalisation and becomes more complex and important at the same time; it becomes one of the most influental instruments of state's foreign policy. The growing complexity means that there has been new players, issues and arenas emerged. New players, state and non-state; the latter have deep impact on the nature of economic diplomacy. Bussiness sector, represented mostly by transnational companies (TNCs) and "the global civil society" represented vy international non-governmental organisations (INGOs) shift the balance of power within the state. The central role of state is challenged and his power fragmentised. Except this horisontal widening of economic diplomacy yb growing numbers of its actors, it is also deepening in terms of its agenda. The national policies become internationalised or even globalised (services, investment, enviroment, customer protection, labour standards) and the regulation of international trade puts pressure on national governements to to reconsider the strategy and their...

In this thesis I´m trying to touch the border points between sculpture, painting, drawing and design Diploma work deals with the theme of the wall relief. I´m using conceptual principles and these principles are often unclear on the outside. by using the conceptual keys and contexts i´m trying to create the aesthetic quality of the artwork. In a practical thesisis i´m working with wall sculptures and folding picture. Art can often change their nature and their perceptions using a different composition, adjustment, or context with the surroundings. I´m working with possibilities of understanding to every single artistic element as part of a wider whole. This thesis consists of a wall relief sculptures. The composition components are all facing the wall, eventually. column. In this thesis combines the individual relief under a particular key.

Currciculum of foreign language for special purpose at universities with economic focus – the theory and practice
Jeřábková, Petra ; Hlavičková, Vlasta (advisor) ; Höppnerová, Věra (referee) ; Houska, Leoš (referee)
The knowledge of foreign languages has always been inseparable part of education and a part of spiritual wealth of every human being. At present, it also becomes one of the conditions for employment and success of university graduates on labour market, the precondition of which is a correctly assembled curriculum of a foreign specialized language both in its cultivation and qualification part. The goal of this dissertation is to on the one hand examine significant features of our presence which have influence on cultivation component of curriculum in particular, and examining the requirements of practice which determine its qualification component. From the synthesis of conclusions of both parts, we formulate recommendations for assembling specialized foreign language curriculum for universities of economic focus on a specific case of the curriculum of specialized German at University of Economics, Prague. We define the notion curriculum in theoretical part and we deal with curriculum from synchronic and diachronic aspect. Hermeneutical approach examines its social determinants. Furthermore we deal with current problem of special methodologies, which touch upon the addressed problem: methodology of tertiary education, methodology of foreign languages, methodology of German and methodology of specialized German. In conclusion of the theoretical part, space is devoted to language policy in Czech and European context and we summarize current state of solution of our research problem. In the research part, we deal with the qualification part of curriculum by means of empirical research of University of Economics, Prague graduates focused on the analysis of current demands of labour market on the knowledge of and the comparison of these requirements with the existing curriculum of German at University of Economics, Prague. It has been verified in the research whether the level of graduates´ knowledge for practice is sufficient and gives them competitive value on the labour market, what activities they do in German, how they reflect their studies of German at University of Economics, Prague and what their suggestions to curriculum, which would better respect their educational needs, are. Conclusions of the research are compared with the existing curriculum as it is depicted in graduate´s profile, as well as syllabuses of individual subjects and textbooks which are used in tuition at present. We derive from both of the steps that the nature of changes in curriculum is legitimate. Concrete suggestions for the innovation of curriculum where we take the findings of theoretical and research part into account follow the research part.

Stránská, Aneta ; Paliatka, Peter (referee) ; Rubínová, Dana (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to create design of home for humanitarian purposes. The dwelling is designed for people who find themselves in emergency situation in which they lose their home. This situation mainly occurs after varies disasters, which are natural or caused by human fault. The dwelling is intended for temporary living for several months in conditions of temperate zone. The most important part of design is the dispositional solution. The layout of rooms and interior equipment create fully functional space. The shape of house is inspired by the pinwheel that is applied mainly on the roof. The rest of the complex is mainly geometrically shaped. It allowed producing particular pieces of building simply with lower financial charges. There is an effort to touch on inhabitants by pleasant and comfortable expression. This is the reason why the yellow color dominate in interior and orange color is ascendant in exterior. There is a possibility to built various number of rooms. This dwelling is demountable, easily transportable and prepared to be built again.
