Analysis of the selection program for the White Shorthaired qoat in the Czech Republic
Holecová, Alena ; Přibyl, Josef (advisor) ; Vít, Vít (referee)
Selection program is a set of principles and practices for genetic improvement of animals. The aim of breeding is to ensure the desired level of production traits and thereby to influence the economic results of farming in favor of farmers. Genetic improvement is achieved by selecting the best individuals as parents for the next generation. The basis for the organization of a selection program are breeding goals, appropriate selection criteria and a system to performance record. Next step is the selection of the best individuals and their mating based on established principles. The quality of the selection program is given by the selection response in traits, maintaining the genetic diversity expressed by the rate of inbreeding and the economic profit. In the case of genetic resources, among which the White Shorthaired goat in the Czech Republic belongs, the emphasis is on maintaining the genetic diversity, but also for the economic gain, which increases the interest in the breed. The achieved genetic gain, the rate of inbreeding and economic profit are compared with the expected and in case of differences are the causes analysed and the program changed. In the breeding program for the White Shorthaired goat in the Czech Republic are set the breeding objectives and the performance record system. The organization of the mating ensures avoidance of the inbreeding. The breeding value is not estimated, the parents of the next generation are selected on the basis of measured gross phenotypic values for protein content in milk and of the exterior evaluation. It is not possible to evaluate the genetic progress. In the analysis of selection programs in chosen countries (France, Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany and Austria), it was found that in all these countries is the breeding values of the animals estimated by using BLUP - Animal Model for production traits, exterior or fertility, or it is currently being prepared. I recommend to estimate the breeding value for the amount of milk, protein and fat for the White Shorthaired goat in the Czech Republic and create a selection index with emphasis on the amount of protein in milk as a base for the selection of the parents of the next generation. I also recommend the introduction of the linear exterior evaluation because of the possibility of a more precise evaluation of the exterior traits that are associated with the production traits, health, fertility and longevity, and estimating the breeding value in these indicators

Digital Library
Krbeček, Daniel ; Přinosil, Jiří (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
The thesis contains basic information about image documents digitalization. A brief list of common used standards in Czech republic is shown. The standards can be used in description of digitalized documents by institutions such as libraries, scientific departments and universities. The thesis specifically solves the dilemma of the preservation and the accessing of B.P.Molls large map collection stored in Moravian Library in Brno city. It analyses step by step the characteristics of the saved documents, style of their interlacing and data representation. In terms of deposition and manipulation it comes with description list of open-source digital libraries and it chooses the Fedora repository. It solves methods of object-model implementation while using this digital library. The functional parts are web presentation of the mentioned map collection and an effectiveness test showing large-scale maps using the flash Zoomify browser. Web presentation uses the repository services as often as possible, and thus allows searching and searching through the bibliographic records of the presented documents. The end of the thesis sums up the obtained results and presents the incoming development course of presentation and popularization of the map collection.

International legal protection of natural resources and the Moon environment
Kokaislová, Teresa ; Ondřej, Jan (referee) ; Hofmannová, Mahulena (advisor)
"The Protection of Natural Resources on the Moon and of Lunar Environment in International law" The aim of the thesis is firstly to analyse the existing legal basis of the protection of the natural resources which are to be found on the Moon and of the lunar environment and secondly to draw up an outline of desired development of these issues. The reason for my research is based on the fact that the Earth's resources are finite and slowly running out. The mankind is in a need of finding new resources and sees its opportunity in using the ones on the Moon. Therefore a functional and effective legal regulation is required. The thesis is composed of four chapters. Short Introduction is followed by first chapter describing the formation of the Outer Space Treaty and Moon Agreement and analysing the provisions of both. Chapter Two is dedicated to the issue of legal regimes "res communis omnium" and "common heritage of mankind". Firts part of the chapter deals with the creation and content of the legal regimes. Second part describes the rising questions concerning the morality in the "common heritage of mankind" principle and its so called tragedy. The next two chapters concentrate on the problems resulting from the tragedy of "common heritage of mankind". Chapter Three focuses on the international...

Diffusion of Particles from Tokamak by Stochastization of Magnetic Field Lines
Cahyna, Pavel ; Krlín, Ladislav (advisor) ; Rohlena, Karel (referee) ; Suttrop, Wolfgang (referee)
The thesis summarizes the current state of research of thermonuclear fusion with magnetic confinement and decribes the possible role of stochastization of magnetic field lines and magnetic perturbations in solving some of the problems that are encountered on the road to the exploitation of fusion. It presents a theoretical introduction to deterministic chaos and explains the connection of this theory to magnetic perturbations in tokamak. The results are presented mainly in the form of publications in journals and conference proceedings. Among them are: the comparison of chaotic diffusion of particles and field lines, where significant differences were found; the application of chaotic diffusion of particles to the problem of runaway electrons originating in disruptions, where our simulations contributed to explaining the experimental results from the JET tokamak; the calculation of spectra of perturbations for the COMPASS tokamak, done as a preparation for the upcoming experiments; and modelling of screening of perturbations by plasma, where the observations of divertor footprints show as a promising method to detect the screening.
