Vlášková, Barbora ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (referee)
Renaissance books decoration after the book-printing rise in Bohemia Barbora Vlášková In my Bachelor Thesis, I am dealing with the book culture during the Renaissance Era in Bohemia. My review is focused to both the transformation and qualitative development of the book illustration approaches after the book-printing advent, and all this I am evidencing by the most important publications issued since the end of the 15th to the end of the 16th centuries. In my Bachelor Thesis, I firstly focus on the personality of Johannes Gensfleisch, the inventor of book-printing called Gutenberg, and the printing technique. In addition, I deal with the graphic techniques that are used in early press processes. However, my greatest attention here is devoted to the Prague press before 1500, where the greatest printing personalities are mentioned, who deserved the most in view of the development of the book culture. I am describing individual printing houses and their most interesting publications produced with a rich graphical decoration. Individual chapters are devoted in this section to prints of Jonathan of Vysoké Mýto, Severín-Kampa's printing house or to printer Beneda. Then I examine printing houses that developed their activity after the year 1500 and prints reaching higher qualitative values due to their woodprint...

Reviews of french literature inthe book serie Světová četba (World Reading) between years 1948 and 1999
Radváková, Tereza ; Belisová, Šárka (advisor) ; Šotolová, Jovanka (referee)
The diploma thesis Rewievs of French Literature in the Book Series Světová četba (World Reading) between years 1948 and 1999 analyses the forewords of one of the most important Czech book series of the 20th century. The main aim of the thesis is to find out to what extent the contemporary culture policy influenced the content of the respective texts that were published together with the translations of francophonic literature. The author has chosen the method of qualitative analysis, which has provided the basis for the subsequent quantitative analysis. She tries to describe the way in which the slant in the forewords can present itself and to find out if it truly presented itself in the Světová četba book series. As there is not enough processed materials available concerning the book series and the policy of the Odeon publishing house (formerly SNKLU or SNKLHU), the thesis also covers an extensive historiographic background research based on archive materials and controlled conversations with witnesses.

Study of chemical communication in the house mouse: a proteomic approach
Janotová, Kateřina ; Stopka, Pavel (advisor) ; Piálek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Vošlajerová, Barbora (referee)
Chemical communication of the house mouse is similarly as in other mammals, substantially complex and influence every social ineraction between individuals. Important part of mouse chemical signalling system is Major Urinary Protein complex (MUP). These proteins are known as pheromone-carriers that prolong longevity of the pheromones by retarding their evaporation from the scent mark. Their other role in chemical communication is direct signalling which is mediated by VNO. MUP have been shown to trigger both behavioural and physiological effects in recipient. Proteins belonging to the same family (lipocalins) as MUPs, have been found in other, mainly rodent, species. Although the information about these urinary lipocalins are, with exception of mouse, very limited, it is likely that their roles relies in chemical communication. The Ph.D. thesis is related to the urinary proteins in the house mouse and Mastomys coucha. Thesis contains four chapters represented by three published and one submitted manuscript. One aim of the thesis is to provide information about these proteins in the subspecies Mus musculus musculus which is widespread in the Czech Republic and which is much less studied when compared to Mus musculus domesticus. The part of Ph.D thesis is a review publication which summarizes recent...

Analýza asociace polymorfismu UASMS2 v genu leptin s intramuskulárním tukem a marblingem u skotu
Klementová, Kristýna
The current trend in beef production is quality improvement. Meat quality is influen-ced by many factors, eg. genetic background, age, nutrition, sex, breed, environment, housing type, etc. One of these factors is the quality of beef and storage of intramuscular fat and marbling. Marbling has an effect on juiciness, tenderness and flavor of the meat. This paper describes the influence of UASMS2 polymorphism in the gene leptin to the quality of beef meat, storage of intramuscular fat and marbling. The study was conducted on 174 bulls of Czech pied cattle breed. For the determination of genotypes were used sequencing method. Based on the association analysis was detected significant effect on the quality of the meat and intramuscular fat deposition. The results of association analy-sis were compared with previously published scientific articles by other authors. The work includes a literature review for topic of candidate genes, the current state of the problem, significance and methods for studying genes and storing fat in cattle.

Solar heating tap water
Kracík, Petr ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the heating of hot service water by means of solar energy through solar collectors. At the beginning the author describes the most frequent methods for heating of service water in Czech houses with the help of electrical energy, fossil fuel, gas and central heat supply, including the input expenses for buying equipment. The author describes a solar system and his basic elements and suggests two variants with supplement heating by means of electrical energy, which compares with electrical heating of service water. The overall thesis is conceived as a review of possibilities of heating hot service water in households with economical budget at the end of the work.
