The church in Lesna
Pospíšil, Vojtěch ; Berka, Pavel (referee) ; Berková, Petra (advisor)
This theoretical diploma thesis deals with room acoustics and the closely related issue of reverberation. Part of the work is a drafting of acoustic modifications of the church based on manual calculation, which was further modified in a specialized software Odeon Room Acoustics Program. For the surrounding buildings of the church was created a study of the noise in a program Hluk+ in order to assess what will be the noise impact of this new building on its surroundings. On the basis of specialization was created several proposals for the design of the church. The approximate proposal of the double-plated dome, a system of drainage of the coupling neck, and the ways the anchor of the hard large-format window glazing. The result of the work is suitable design of acoustic adjustments and improvement of the listening qualities for the future construction of this church.

Optimization of the FE model by experimental modal analysis.

Development of Marketing Activities Improving Competitiveness of Company
Kaufmanová, Marie ; Vavřina, Zbyněk (referee) ; Zich, Robert (advisor)
The aim of this master’s thesis is to evaluate the contemporary position of company Liberecká IS and, with the help of strategic analyses and on the base of its results, to propose marketing activities and their development which would support competitive advantage of the company in the market. Within the frame of these marketing activities a marketing research of the largest client of this company was done, which confirmed and in some cases disproved the notion the company had about the quality of services provided and about satisfaction of their clients. In that way the research foreshadowed the next activities that will help to increase client satisfaction and to improve competitive advantage of the company.

Foreign direct investment impact on selected macroeconomic indicators of the economy of the Czech Republic from 1993 to 2013
Švec, Petr ; Czesaný, Slavoj (advisor) ; Zamrazilová, Eva (referee)
Subject of this diploma thesis is to provide an overview of economic theories on why companies tend to invest at foreign markets directly and thus to determine the foreign direct investment (FDI) itself. Covered areas include a foreign direct investment typology, motivation to invest, localisation factors, attractiveness and measurement of a host country business environment. Various types of FDI, methodology and forms of FDI statistical coverage analysis is included in the thesis. Three frameworks influencing all the segments of the FDI are covered in depth. These include the foreign policy factors, domestic policy factors and a process of economic transformation in the Czech Republic. Corresponding analytics map a development between a FDI and selected macroeconomic indicators of the Czech Republic. The analysis shows that foreign investment has a certain influence over selected macroeconomic indicators, however it is not always possible to quantify it as well as to predict its trend. On the other side it is often difficult to prove an influence of macroeconomic development on intensity of the FDI inflow to the Czech Republic. Keywords: foreign investment, determinants of the foreign direct investment inflow, foreign direct investment macroeconomic indicators

Modelování portfolií s risk faktory s těžkými chvosty
Kyselá, Eva ; Málek, Jiří (advisor) ; Fičura, Milan (referee)
The thesis aims to investigate some of the approaches to modelling portfolio returns with heavy-tailed risk factors. It first elaborates on the univariate time series models, and compares the benchmark model (GARCH with Student t innovations or its GJR extension) predictive performance with its two competitors, the EVT-GARCH model and the Markov-Switching Multifractal (MSM) model. The motivation of EVT extension of GARCH specification is to use a more proper distribution of the innovations, based on the empirical distribution function. The MSM is one of the best performing models in the multifractal literature, a markov-switching model which is unique by its parsimonious specification and variability. The performance of these models is assessed with Mincer-Zarnowitz regressions as well as by comparison of quality of VaR and expected shortfall predictions, and the empirical analysis shows that for the risk management purposes the EVT-GARCH dominates the benchmark as well as the MSM. The second part addresses the dependence structure modelling, using the Gauss and t-copula to model the portfolio returns and compares the result with the classic variance-covariance approach, concluding that copulas offer a more realistic estimates of future extreme quantiles.

Development of solar diffuser.
Pintr, Pavel
Theoretically attainable productions of photovoltaic plants depend on the quality of solar sensors. We can determine an effeciency and reliability of photovoltaic plants with them. We introduce optical simulation of the original solution of solar sensor in software Optic Studio 15.5 Zemax. We propose new diffuser shape of solar sensor according to our analyse. We\ndescribe a development of first prototypes and their testing in the real conditions.
