Historical Evolution of Social Security and its Types
Leyer, Petr ; Štangová, Věra (advisor) ; Vysokajová, Margerita (referee)
Historical Evolution of Social Security and its Types The topic of the thesis is "Historical Evolution of Social Security and its Types" and its main purpose is to describe how social security works during different eras and also to analyze how particular points of view have changed. Various approaches occurred in more than three thousand-year history of social security. Some of them are up-to-date even today and another are useless for practical implementation into contemporary social security systems. This comparison is also one goal of the study. I have chosen the topic because every individual is interested in its living standard in case of getting ill, becoming disabled, old age etc. but there are only few studies examining social security from legal angles. The paper is divided into three main chapters. First chapter is introductory and composes of three parts. Part One defines basic terminology used in the paper e.g. social security and its special Czech equivalent "sociální zabezbečení" as well as social services and social welfare. Part Two explain aims and aspects of social security. And finally Part Three presents basic principles which create some sort of ideological background. Second chapter is subdivided into six parts and each of them has from three to six subparts. The whole chapter focuses...

Celtic Christian Spirituality in the Time of Early Middle Age
LEBAROVÁ, Dorotea
This work deals with Christian tradition in Ireland and northwest Scotland in period from 5th to 12th century. The work is divided into two parts. The first one is an introduction into historical and cultural context. In the second one I used a religious model of Mr. Ninian Smart who distinguishes religion into seven dimensions. That dimensions are doctrinal, mythological, ritual, social, ethic, emotional and artistic. In each of these dimensions I deal with about four topics which are typical for Celtic {--} Christian tradition and on them I illustrate the uniqueness of that tradition. That uniqueness is in high ability for enculturation of Christianity together with ability for new innovative approaches. Some of these new approaches are introduction of new penitential practice, phenomenon of pilgrimage or interconnectedness of monasticism with apostolate.

Bratský, Petr ; Herczeg, Jiří (advisor) ; Gřivna, Tomáš (referee)
Resumé The European Arrest Warrant The aim of my diploma thesis is to analyze the Framework Decision of 13 of June on the European Arrest Warrant and the surrender procedures between Member States (2002/584/JHA), next as "FWD", and how it has contributed to the creation of new simplified and more effective system of extradition of criminals among the Member States of the European Union. The historical development of international judicial cooperation in criminal matters and the extradition procedure will be discussed first in order to understand the need for a new solution for handling with the new forms of organised cross boarder crime in the European Union that were brought by the introduction of the principle of free movement of persons and the abolition of boarder checks after the Schengen Agreement. This will lead us to the critical analysis of fundamental principles on which the European Arrest warrant is based, its practical application by the judicial authorities in different Member States and core problematic issues that the daily practise of surrender procedure is nowadays facing. The possible solutions for such questions will be presented, not only on the state but also on the Union level. A part of my research is also devoted to the transposition of the FWD into the Czech legal order and...

Quantitative analysis of D2 dopamine receptors in clinically non-functioning pituitary adenomas
Gabalec, Filip ; Čáp, Jan (advisor) ; Fryšák, Zdeněk (referee) ; Hána, Václav (referee)
Quantitative analysis of D2 dopamine receptors in clinically non-functioning pituitary adenomas Introduction Clinically non-functioning pituitary adenomas account for about one-third of pituitary tumors. The majority of them are pathologically classified as gonadotropinomas or null-cell adenomas without hormonal expression. The rest represent silent corticotroph adenomas and plurihormonal tumors. Conservative therapy with dopamine agonists is effective in some cases only depending on the expression of dopamine 2 receptors (D2R). Objective The aim of this study was to quantitatively estimate D2R expression in clinically nonfunctioning pituitary adenomas and correlate the results with adenoma type according to pathological classification. Methods and results Out of the 87 adenomas investigated, 63 expressed gonadotropins, 7 were silent corticotroph adenomas, 7 were plurihormonal tumors, and only 6 did not express any pituitary hormone on immunohistochemical investigation. With the use of the reverse transcriptase real-time PCR technique, D2R mRNA was expressed in all adenomas with very heterogeneous quantity. The expression was very low in corticotroph adenomas (relative median quantity after normalization to housekeeping gene 0.01) and lower in plurihormonal tumors (median 0.4) than in gonadotroph...

Simultaneous performance of employment and directionship
Tomšej, Jakub ; Čech, Petr (advisor) ; Štenglová, Ivanka (referee)
The objective of this thesis is to analyse implications of simultaneous performance of directorship and employment. The division of the relationship between a company and its manager into two different legal relations, governed by different fields of law (employment and commercial law) is a common practice in the Czech business environment. Despite of this, it is contrary to the Czech Supreme Court case law. Therefore, my research is aimed at verifying the "no simultaneous performance of functions" principle and summarising its legal and practical implications. Another goal of the paper is to analyse the contemplated bill to amend the Commercial Code which is currently subject to political discussions at the Lower Chamber of the Czech Parliament as well as to investigate its implications for the subjects of law. The thesis consists of three chapters, which do correspond to the main goals of the thesis, as stipulated in the Introduction. Chapter One is introductory and defines legal instruments that are material for the conclusions of the thesis. It summarises main legal differences between employment and directorship. Chapter Two is divided into five parts, each of them approaching the "no simultaneous performance of functions" principle from a different viewpoint. The first part examines relevant Czech...

Fabíková, Lenka ; Loneková, Katarína (advisor) ; Štětovská, Iva (referee)
This thesis deals with the forms of mental hygiene and their application to crisis hotline workers. In the theoretical part the work focuses on the characteristics and specificities of telephonic crisis intervention. Methods of mental hygiene suitable for crisis hotline workers are presented too. The empirical part focuses on mapping of the forms of mental hygiene, which are provided by crisis hotlines to their workers in the Czech Republic. Individual forms of mental hygiene of crisis hotline workers were also mapped. Crisis hotline workers burnout was investigated in the empirical part of the thesis by the means of CBI - Copenhagen Burnout Inventory. It was also confirmed that greater degree of compliance with selected principles of mental hygiene by cisis hotline workers has the relationship with burnout lower incidence. Hypotheses concerning the relationship between sociodemographic data (sex, age, educational attainment, length of praktice, type of employment in the workplace and beyond) and the rate of burnout were not confirmed. The aim of the thesis was to offer possible ways of how to deal with the stress to crisis hotline workers and how they can optimally use the methods of mental hygiene, which can in practice preventively work against burnout.

Brázdová, Kristýna ; Zoulík, František (advisor) ; Zoulík, František (referee)
This diploma thesis gives comprehensive view of several kinds of civil procedure, whereas it aims for characteristic of their main elements (f.e. principles, participants, kinds of verdicts). By this characteristics the diploma thesis interfers with some problems and questions, which are not solved by legislation. Therefore there is a target to find the answers to these questions with the help of legal and judicial experiences. There are actual questions nowdays, which evoke the law form of concentration of proceedings. We can divide the civil proceses by seven categories. I follow also the partial targets by some category. Within the frame of characteristic of undisputed procedure I compare this procedure with the target to find the fundamental differences between these civil-procedural types of proceedings. In the chapters devoted to execution and insolvence procedure, I especially focus in definition of premises, for which the proceedings can be execute. The attention is devoted to position of creditors from the angle of exercitation and satisfaction their outstanding debts in insolvence proceedings. Nationalisation in Great Britain 1945-1951
Erva, Martin ; Soukup, Jaromír (referee) ; Kovář, Martin (advisor)
After the W orld War II, one of the biggest socialistic experiments in the democratic world started in the United Kingdom: nationalization. The Labour Party landslide victory in the general election of 1945 was more than just a change of government. First time in history Labour Party came to power with a majority in the House of Commons. As a result of these processes the Labour ministers launched nationalization programme. However, these processes have deeper roots. Nationalization without protests was possible after many years of changes within the British population. The perception of property rights, freedom and role of astate was different than twenty years ago. We have to go back to a period of the Great War, when Great Britain started with reforms of astate that were inspired by Germany. Functions ofthe state were reorganized along German 1ines. Paradoxically, "German's succes" in the World War was a main reason for it. Furthermore, Labour Party had strongly believed in nationa1ization from the times of KarI Marx. For Labour Party nationalisation had been a necessary condition for a socialistic society. The dangerest attack on the freedom and property rights came from the middle way activists, economists and politicians 1ike J.M. Keynes, W. Beveridge and others.
