Hélene Cixous and Théatre du Soleil
Kuslová, Kristýna ; Christov, Petr (advisor) ; Pšenička, Martin (referee)
This thesis deals with the performance and the text of La Ville parjure ou Le Réveil des Erynies (The Forsworn City, or the Awakening of the Furies) created collectively by Théâtre du Soleil under the directorial guidance of Ariane Mnouchkine and by French dramatist Hélne Cixous. The analysis mainly focuses on two features, on the one hand on the influence of antiquity, which connects the 1994 epic drama with Greek ancient tragedy, and on the other hand on the feministic concept of drama. The thesis tries by the means of one specific performance to describe the unique cooperation of two women in the context of French theatrical tradition.

Prof. Rudolf Jedlička (1869-1926) and the medical and social institutions bound up with his activities
Černá, Marcela ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Rákosník, Jakub (referee)
Rudolf Jedlička belongs to the most important Czech doctors of the beginning of the 20th century. After finishing his studies he engaged, under the influence of his favourite professor Karel Maydl, in surgery. Nevertheless he was very soon interested in X-ray science and radiology - the science branches, which were just newly being formed, and whose pioneer in the central Europe he became. Jedlička was often consulted as a diagnostic and operator thanks to his many-sided medical skills. He connected his life with the Faculty of Medicine of the Czech Charles-Ferdinand University, respectively Charles University, where he was engaged as an educationalist - creator of so called Jedlička school, which became bearer of his medical heritage. He reached the top of his career in 1921, when he was designated as regular professor of surgery and simultaneously head of the II. Clinic of Surgery. Rudolf Jedlička did not limit his activities only to medical theory and practice, but he was also initiator and organizer of many medical and social projects, the most important of which was the foundation of Prague sanatorium and neighbouring Jedlička foundation. Prague sanatorium was opened in May 1914 as a general hospital covering all specializations except of infectious and mental illnesses. The sanatorium arrived...

Směrové charakteristiky vícesegmentových ED čidel pod vlivem zdánlivého skluzu při stěně
Wein, Ondřej
The direction-sensitive electrodiffusion (ED) probes consist of three working electrodes (segments), separated by thin insulated insertions. In common, the directional characteristics, ie. the ratios of individual limiting diffusion currents, are determined experimentally, using a suitable calibrator that generates a steady viscometric flow. It has been shown in that, at high enough Peclet number, the directional characteristics can be calculated from a front photograph of the probe via the linear theory of convective diffusion. In the present contribution, the original theory for a constant wall shear rate is generalized for a class of non-linear velocity profiles.

Morphosyntactic valency of verbs in Croatian and Czech language and a valency distionary of Czech and Croatian verbs
Živko, Maja ; Nehring, Dieter (advisor) ; Samadržija, Marko (referee) ; Skwarska, Karolína (referee)
The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the morphosyntactic valency of Verbs in Croatian and Czech language by using the contrastive method. The introduction shows the development of the syntactic theory of valence from L. Tesnire until today. Here are explained disputable questions about the theory of valence, and also types of valence positions and the number of valence components. In the main part of dissertation are described similarities and differences of the morphosyntactic valency of verbs in Croatian and Czech language by using the contrastive method. The Chapter Cases without preposition in Croatian and Czech language shows which verbs requires in Croatian and Czech language valence components without prepositions in nominative, genitive, dative, accusative and instrumental. The Chapter Preposition Valence shows what kind of valence positions some prepositions in Croatian and Czech language have. Prepositions which are described in dissertation are: without, to, by, along, within, around, toward, except, but, beside, out of, beyond, between, over, above, in, on, at, from, of, with, off, under, bellow, beneath, for, because of, in front of, before, ahead of, against, through, with, near...The Chapter Infinitive as a valence component describes which verbs have infinitive as a valence component...

New Order at East Asia and Eastasian sfere of mutual prosperity
Reinisch, Martin ; Hnízdo, Bořivoj (advisor) ; Andělová, Petra (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to clarify the issues related to the New Order in East Asia and the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. Emphasis will be added to motives which lead Japan to the creation of a new arrangement in East Asia. These motives are represented by both Japan's strategic interests, among which was the struggle for obtaining access to natural resources (such as iron ore, coal and oil), as well as the control over a certain part of Asian territory with the intention of creating a buffer zone, mainly because of fearing the Soviet Union. The effort to control the Far East was further strengthened by the Great Depression, which resulted with the creation of enclosed trade blocks. A significant source of Japanese expansionist policy was presented by the ideology of Pan-Asianism, which played a large role in Japan's foreign policy making since the second half of the1920s. Pan-Asianism had been originally focused mainly on Northeast Asia and only later was it utilized to legitimize the Japanese occupation of Southeast Asia. The thesis also pays much attention to the creation of Japanese puppet regimes, both on occupied Chinese territory and in Southeast Asia. An important role here is played by the Japanese effort to cooperate with local elites, both political and religious. Not only...

The application of copyright in film production
David, Ivan ; Křesťanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Holcová, Irena (referee)
The Application of Copyright in the Film Production (Abstract) This diploma thesis on a general basis describes and analyses the application of copyright in the film production. Because the copyright regulating the relationships coming from the process of production and exploitation of audiovisual work is the part of a broader group of norms comprised within the transbranchial "film law", this paper also indicates what other legal enactments - of civil law as well as of public law origin - have to be respected in the film production. The first part of the paper specify the basic terms and concepts which could be found in the film law as well as in the practical film production itself governed by this law. First of all, the paper defines the main areas of the film law, meaning copyright and its neighbouring rights, unfair competition law, media law, advertising law and protection of personality rights. Further on, it is specified what could be understood in legal theory by terms film, film work, audiovisual work, cinematographic work and underlying work. Next, the paper briefly explains the process of film production, its function, stages and forms, as well as the following process of the film distribution. Finally, this part of the paper defines and explains the main professions which are to be found within...

Novel antibody array validation and application to determine new prognostic markers in childhood acute leukemia
Černá, Daniela ; Šulc, Miroslav (advisor) ; Poljaková, Jitka (referee)
v anglickém jazyce Leukemia is the most common malignant childhood disease, which occurs in Czech Republic every year in about 100 cases. That's why has been devoted over the last 5 decades much attention and funding to this research and the children with leukemia have a high chance for achieving complete remission. Nevertheless, for about 10% of patients leukemia still remains lethal and these cases are subjects of current studies. Leukemia is a complex disease in its pathology involving lots of aberrations, which pathologically manifest at the DNA, mRNA and protein level. Nevertheless some symptoms of this disease are only at the protein grade (and not DNA or mRNA). Since a broad part of the protein profile in leukemic cell changes, it is necessary to develop newer, more sensitive and especially more efficient methods, which are able to follow up changes in large sets of proteins and detect prognostic and diagnostic markers. Within diploma study a new method - multiplex antibody array - has been tested. Our laboratory tests this method in collaboration with a Norwegian laboratory (Rikshospitalet University Hospital, University of Oslo) under leading by Dr. Lund-Johansen, who is the author of this method. Antibody array presents a set of 1152 latex bead populations labeled with fluorescent dyes in...

The Role of Non-human Actors in the Construction of Scientific Fact in Bruno Latour's Conception
Patáková, Markéta ; Horák, Vít (advisor) ; Hlaváček, Karel (referee)
The main topic of this thesis is the construction of a scientific fact as a special case of construction of reality. Bruno Latour is connected to this in several perspectives through which will this thesis capture his position. It describes his concept of science, originating from his laboratory studies, and its later embedding under the actor-network theory. In both cases, the emphasis lays on withdrawal from explanation through complex invisible forces, used by contemporary sociology. Latour refuses to explain a scientific fact through reference to outside world and society. According to him, attention should shift to the local and empirically approachable level. On this level there are collectives of human and non-human actors, who act together. Latour's conception of the construction of a scientific fact is put to test by the critique from sociology of knowledge. The strong program of sociology of knowledge understands the scientific fact as a joint product of reality and society. Non-humans (principally laboratory technology) play a key role in this dispute. Sociology of knowledge does not include them in their analysis, because they are not taken as social actors. Technology is on the other hand a core element in the construction of scientific fact in Latour's conception. Readers of this thesis will...
