Method for Energy Efficience Simulation of Machine Tools in Design Stage
Tůma, Jiří ; Blecha, Petr (advisor)
Ph.D. thesis is focused on the design of the method for simulation of energy demands of machine tool in operation at the stage of its development. Proposed method is developer on the basis of literature search in science and in industry. The method itself is composed of five related steps, that must be realised in the proper order in order to create a relevant energy profile of a machine tool. The output from the method are simulated data providing a course of comsumed energy and required power which are time dependent. Output data are obtained on the basis of the drive system simulation of machine tool through G-code, that is interpreted for simulation by the compiler into the matrix. It contains data necessary for controlling of machine tool, such as the required end points of the tool and required feed rates, to which is assigned a time value. G-code is partially time parametrized. It is then followed by full time parametrization through a of mathematical model of drive mechanisms and due the synergy of software for drive mechanisms control (Matlab Simulink) and software for physical simulation (MSC Adams) is processed into output data. As an input parameter figures also coefficient used as multiplier of the normal force of driving mechanisms, which is a function of feed rate. This loss function is obtained experimantally. In the context of Ph.D. thesis were conducted two experiments, used to verify the developed method. For each experiment is proceeded according to estabilished method and it is included a comparsion of simulation and measured data for various operating modes. The proposed method, described in the Ph.D. thesis, allows designers to summarize the energy demand of the proposed machine before its production. When correctly interpreted, the results of the method can serve as a basis for improving the energy profile and thereby increasing the energy efficiency of the machine tool.

Častorálová, Lucie ; Ščasný, Milan (advisor) ; Chytilová, Julie (referee)
Thermal Insulation of Apartment Buildings: Decision-making Process and Effect on Energy Savings Abstract In order to lower the emissions of green-house gases it is necessary to explore the wide range of the energy efficiency options. This thesis attempts to analyse the effect of thermal insulation installed in the multi-family apartment buildings during the period of 2006-2012 in the Czech Republic. We also investigate whether providing governmental funding further improves energy performance of the insulated apartment buildings. In addition, we examine the collective decision-making processes of members of the multi-family apartment building associations, including their attitudes towards thermal insulation of their houses. The basis of this thesis is the econometric panel data model (with 45 apartment buildings and their energy consumption before and after the insulation) evaluated by the fixed effects method with cluster confirming that the insulation, investments and public funding had all significant and negative impact on the energy consumption in the buildings, when energy consumption was adjusted for weather conditions. After the analysis it was concluded that the more the owners invest in thermal insulation, the more they will save in the long run. The governmental funding led to even greater...

Energy law and protection of the environment
Vohnoutová, Alena ; Damohorský, Milan (advisor) ; Sobotka, Michal (referee)
The aim of my thesis is to create a comprehensive overview of energy law with special focus on its influence on the environment. It especially deals with individual renewable energy sources and their support, construction of facilities utilizing these sources and their impact on the environment. Last but not least, in each chapter I draw attention to recent or expected amendments to relevant legislation. In the first chapter I divide sources of energy into the fossil, nuclear and renewable ones. Besides presenting the basic characteristics of such sources, I also deal with the time period in which the humankind will run out of their supplies, as well as with detrimental effects that their mining and processing have on the environment. Based on the classification included in the Act on the Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources, I continue with classifying the renewable energy sources to wind power, energy of water and solar radiation, geothermal energy, biomass and biogas. I consider their benefits, but also their harmful effects on the environment. Each subchapter also contains a part that deals with the potential of such resources in the Czech Republic. Since Czech energy law is influenced by both international and European laws, I dedicate the next chapter to them. On the level of international...
Economic Consequences of Mandatory Energy Performance Certificate Processing for Public Sector
Tintěra, Tomáš ; Loužek, Marek (advisor) ; Maule, Petr (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with the impact assessment of introduction of the requirement for processing energy performance certificate (PENB) for buildings in possession of public sector. It inspects in detail Czech as well as European legislative connected with energy efficiency, and it examines the differences in approaches to its implementation between EU member states, and its consequences. Moreover, thesis inspects the impact assessment process of EU legislation. Main part of thesis consists of an evaluation of approach of Czech public sector to fulfilling given obligations. From inspection of sample of municipalities, it shows that the targets set by legislative are not being met. At last, thesis analyzes data on public contracts which indicate that there is no such methodology which would inform the state itself about the real energy performance certification impacts on national economy.

This diploma thesis deals with the energy efficiency of heat pumps, especially efficiency of air/water system. In the this thesis is simply described the principle of the heat pump and function of each component. It shows the issues of determining the parameters of performance of the heat pump and also describes verification in according to applicable standards. The diploma thesis gives an analysis of determining the energetical efficiency and calculation of coefficient of performance, in other words, the seasonal heating coefficient of performance. Seasonal energy efficiency of selected samples of heat pumps for the heating season is designated for specific climatic conditions.
Development and Implementation of Energy Savings and Energy Management Methodology in an Industrial Enterprise
