Political Aspects of Czechoslovak-Polish Conflict Over Cieszyn Silesia in 1918-1920
Czudek, Jan ; Just, Petr (advisor) ; Mlejnek, Josef (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes political aspects of the Czechoslovak - Polish conflict over Cieszyn Silesia in years 1918 - 1920. It tries to enlighten the aspects of this conflict. Similarly, its goal is also a thorough effort for achieving neutrality, which is supposed to help find the only truthful interpretation of this conflict. The more important events of this conflict are chronologically looked upon. The Polish, as well as the Czech historiographic interpretations of given events are introduced. Heterogeneity of the region is stressed upon and there are doctrines described, which helped Czechoslovakia and Poland defend their interest for this region. Furthermore, the thesis also describes individual agreements, which were signed between the two countries, and were referring to Cieszyn Silesia between 1918 - 1920. There is also an attempt for the actual war conflict in January 1919 to be represented. The difficult and heated atmosphere in the given region starting with the war conflict, lasting till arbitration in 1920 is pointed out. One of the chapters also remembers the Czechoslovak satisfaction and the dissatisfaction of the Poles with the result of the arbitration. The original aims of the thesis were not reached. The author states his later awareness, he cannot reach the aims for his...

Self-assembly and excited energy transfer in bacteriochlorophyll aggregates
Pospíšil, Petr ; Pšenčík, Jakub (advisor) ; Vácha, František (referee)
Bacteriochlorophyll c (BChl c) belongs among photosynthetic pigments. It is found in lightharvesting complexes of green photosynthetic bacteria in the form of self-assembled aggregates. It is possible to prepare BChl c aggregates also in vitro in aqueous solutions, in the presence of certain non-polar molecules (e.g. lipids or carotenoids). In this work, artificial light-harvesting antenna was prepared composed of BChl c and selected azulene derivative. The aggregation of BChl c with azulene enhances the absorption in the near UV region compared to BChl c. Fluorescence spectroscopy was used to study an efficiency of energy transfer from azulene to BChl c. The procedure used was based on fluorencence excitation spectra measurement, and a comparison with absorption 1-T spectra. The measurements were complicated by anomalous fluorencence of azulene, which occurs from the S2 state. Furthermore, the reference diode in the fluorescence spectrometer did not correct properly the signal in the near UV region, where azulene absorbs. The problem was partially solved by preparing the new correction files using selected laser dyes. Excitation spectra demonstrate the presence of the energy transfer from azulene to BChl c, however, it was not yet possible to satisfactorily quantify its efficiency.

Language as ethics according to Levinas
Bierhanzl, Jan ; Kouba, Petr (referee) ; Petříček, Miroslav (advisor)
For Emmanuel Lévinas, language is a pure communication with exteriority, which precedes language as a system of differences and references. The paper here presented attempts to interpretate this primacy of pure communication as a prerequisite of such a theory of "signifying" which would be an alternative against the common structural approach to language as an apersonal system. The correlation between "signifying" and ethics, as would also be possible to describe the essence of language according to Levinas, furthermore implicates certain scepticism against a purely theoretical speech, which leads the author to a conception of philosophy as the wisdom of love. The final section of this paper brings a selection of texts from the work of Yves Aulas, a philosopher with mental disease, who remarkably exemplifies Levinasian method of ethical reduction of theory.

Synthesis of novel acetylcholinesterase reactivators bearing various linkers between two pyridinium rings.
Hambálek, Jan ; Doležal, Martin (advisor) ; Opletalová, Veronika (referee)
Synthesis of novel acetylcholinesterase reactivators bearing various linkers between two pyridinium rings Summary Six novel bispyridinium AChE reactivators with aliphatic linker and nine novel reactivators with xylene linker were synthesized. Their ability to reactivate AChE inhibited by nerve agent tabun and insecticide paraoxon was tested in vitro. pralidoxime, HI-6 a obidoxime were chosen as reference compounds. Regarding the obtained results, six compounds seem to be potent reactivators of paraoxon-inhibited AChE for both chosen concentration. Furthermore, there is evidence that compounds with only one hydroxyiminomethyl group with xylene linker have also reactivation ability compared to bisoxime compounds. Reactivation potency is decreasing with increasing length of the aliphatic linker. None of the tested compounds was able to reactivate tabun-inhibited AChE.

Iconography of Pan in the Greek and Roman art
Labuzík, Štěpán ; Bouzek, Jan (referee) ; Ondřejová, Iva (advisor)
This thesis is dedicated to mythology and iconography of the ancient god Pan in Greek and Roman art. The etymology of his name is discussed here, Pan's mythical origin, tales where he appears and his role in the history. Furthermore, how he was being displayed by antique artists in single periods, in which context he occurs, accompanied by which entities and gods and what was the connection of these depictions to myths, in which he appears, with references of ancient authors. The thesis includes a list of antique relics, where Pan is depicted. Relics are structured according to single types and context of depictions and within each type are sectioned chronologically - from the earliest to the latest.

The thesis of the Armenian Central Bank deals with a summary of how the central banks operate in general and especially focuses on system functioning in Armenian Central Bank. The thesis starts with a theoretical interpretation of the characteristics of central banking functions and central banks. A substantial part of my work is about Armenian Central Bank. It focuses on the history of the Armenian Central Bank since the beginning of the 1920s to the present. There is monitoring of the development of the bank within one century, when the economy changed from centrally planned to market oriented and thus changed the central banking system and functions of the Armenian banking system. Following the history of the Armenian financial system, in this thesis I go into depth of the system of the Central Bank of Armenia with its all positives and negatives. Furthermore I engage in monetary policy, which is concentrated mainly on cooperation between the central bank and commercial banks, and the activities between these institutions. Last but not least part is about coordination of monetary and fiscal policies. As far as foreign relations in the banking areas are concerned, in the next chapters I explain the foreign exchange policy conducted by central banks, and management of international reserves. In conclusion, the main part of my work deals with the national currency of Armenia and its historical evolution to the current period. The conclusuion of my work summarizes all the knowledge that I gained in the course of my study, from literary resources and personal experience. I refer to all these aspects in this thesis of mine. In this part the thesis stresses the importance of central banks in the national and multinational area and its integration into the international trust. It depicts the achivements and areas that need to be improved over the period of the Armenian Central Bank existence.
