Emblematic reductions of a writer as a literary icon or a "star"
Libichová, Tereza ; Heczková, Libuše (referee) ; Bílek, Petr (advisor)
Since the dawn of the western literary tradition the meaning and connotations of the terms and concepts of "author" and "authorship" have been changed and discussed many times. Nevertheless, the word "author" still marks someone who is responsible for the creation of a text (or, in a wider meaning, it denotes a creator of any work of art in general), even though nowadays the author is not considered in the romantic meaning of the word, with its connotations focused on biography and life of a historical individual. In current literary theory, the "author" is seen more as three different entities: a psycho-corporeal existence of the author (the "biographical" author), a subject within the text, and eventually an author-character in his own text, whose existence has become the topic of it. Such an allocation of the auctorial subject makes it possible to explore different points of intersection. However, the irrelevance of interpretation from the biographical point of view is emphasized. Therefore, one more auctorial subject is defined: a point of intersection of the "unidentifiable subject behind the text" and the "auctorial subject within the text". Such a perception of the term offers the possibility to analyze certain literary texts with an emphasis on the so-called "emblematic reductions".

The thinking of picture
Řebíková, Barbora ; Kouba, Pavel (referee) ; Petříček, Miroslav (advisor)
The text tries to study the classical theory of mimésis, that contains motives which has influenced our understanding of the reality (image) up to today. The attention is paid to the classical determination of mimésis in the Plato's and Aristotle's work. The work attempts to study besides the classical form of the theory also the transformation in modern philosophical environment. At first it studies the change in definition, the determination of minésis as a projection and representation. It points to the variable accent similarities in the studied theory. Then the work analyses the idea positions of Nelson Goodman, who wholly denies the role of similarity for determination of the art theory as a imitation and he builds the realism on totally different base. There are two models of vision described at the conclusion of the work that correspond with the proposed determination of menésis. The work is the base of the reality (image) mind, that could continue with studying of the contemporary art from the theory point of view.

Systemic approach as the effective tool for manager development and for company management
Polák, Tomáš ; Mužík, Jaroslav (referee) ; Tureckiová, Michaela (advisor)
This Diploma work describes one of the possible ways to approach the leadership and company management. The first half deals with modern approach to the theory of directing during the past century, tasks and roles of company managers including claims on the directing activity and assumptions necessary for its successful performing. The second half of the work focuses on the systemic approach. It describes its starting points and pillars, on which the systemic theory stands. The comparison of traditional and systemic coaching and the description of systemic approach philosophy demonstrate the advantages of this conception for professional and personality development of manager as well as the company. Two appendixes support the text by practical information about the manner of conducting a coaching interview and document the method of systemic coaching using results based on real work with people

Oxidative damage by organic extracts from urban air particulate matter
Hanzalová, Kateřina ; Rössner, Pavel (advisor) ; Machala, Miroslav (referee)
The aim of this master thesis was to investigate the ability of selected individual carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (c-PAHs: benzo[a]pyrene, B[a]P; dibenzo[a,l]pyrene, DB[a,l]P), an artificial mixture of c-PAHs (c-PAH mix) and extractable organic matter (EOM) from urban air particulate matter (PM) to induce oxidative damage in vitro. Two cell lines (human hepatoma cells, HepG2, and human diploid lung fibroblasts, HEL) were treated for 24 h and 48 h with various concentrations of compounds or mixtures. The studied oxidative stress markers included 8-oxodeoxyguanosine (8-oxodG) as a marker of oxidative DNA damage, 15-F2t-isoprostane (15-F2t-IsoP) as a marker of lipid peroxidation and protein carbonyl groups as a marker of oxidative damage to proteins. The response of the cell lines to the tested compounds and mixtures differed substantially. In summary the results demonstrate the ability of EOM to induce oxidative damage to DNA and lipids after 24 h of treatment and to proteins after 48 h, in HepG2 cells. The effect of c-PAHs was substantially less. The induction of oxidative damage by c- PAHs and EOM in HEL cells was weak. Since c-PAHs had lower ability to cause oxidative damage that was limited only to longer incubation periods, it is probable that other components of EOM are responsible for...

Podnikatelský plán - Využití atraktivity kontaktu s farmářskými zvířaty jako zdroje udržitelného byznisu v turismu
Kružliak, Ľubomír ; Lukeš, Martin (advisor) ; Mareš, Jan (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to develop a sustainable and realistic business plan for the development of a tourist attraction based around the contact between visitors and farm animals. The thesis consists of the evaluation of tourism and agrotourism in Slovakia and in the region of Liptov, followed by the secondary research on agrotourism attractions. The selection of target groups, followed by primary market research and its evaluation, analysis of strategic partners and location, as well as the operations, marketing, and financials are presented in this thesis. The data presented prove that the business idea of creating a tourist attraction featuring farm animals is a viable tourist platform to build a business upon. The contingencies and risks are also analyzed resulting in a complete and viable business plan.

Post-penitentiary treatment and the prevention of recidivism
Stiborová, Hana ; Gřivna, Tomáš (advisor) ; Herczeg, Jiří (referee)
POSTPENITENCIARY CARE AND PREVENTION OF RECIDIVISM The purpose of my thesis is to analyse current form of postpenitenciary care in Czech Republic and to think about recidivism and the way how to prevent it. The reason for my research dissertation is to show that every one of us have to get the second chance despite of our life mistakes. The thesis is composed of eight chapters. Chapter One is introductory and defines basic questions which are solved in following parts of the paper. Second Chapter concentrates on the problem of recidivism. The chapter is subdivided into six parts which are focused on different points of recidivism (concept, causes and prevention of recidivism). Part three is subdivided into five subparts. It examines alternatives to the criminal punishment of imprisonment in Czech Republic. Chapter Four concentrates on the criminal punishment of imprisonment and the penitenciary care. It describes Prison service, education or employment of prisoners. Chapter Five deals with history of the postpenitenciary care in the world and in the Czech Republic. Part Six focuses on the postpenitenciary care in the Czech Republic. Firstly, there is a section about social services in our country which assist in the process of the resocialization of people released from prison. Next subpart describes the...

Physiotherapy in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhoea
Nedbalová, Anna ; Ježková, Martina (advisor) ; Vacová, Eva (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the impact of physiotherapy and exerClse frequency on primary dysmenorrhea in a group of nine women with primary dysmenorrhea. The incidence of joint dysfunctions and muscle trigger points in comparison with a control group was also examined. The women participated in individual and group physiotherapy and performed special exercises at home. Soft tissue and joint mobilisation techniques, dynamic neuromuscular stabilization according to Kolar and exercises according to Mojzisova were used. In most cases physiotherapy had positive effect on dysmenorrhea, especially in reducing low back pain during menstruation. There was higher incidence of trigger points and joint dysfunctions in the group with primary dysmenorrhea, in particular in the pelvic region. Women with higher exercise frequency experienced less severe dysmenorrhea. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Economic and social context of the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic in 1914 - 1918
Sedlmajerová, Jana ; Szobi, Pavel (advisor) ; Chalupecký, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1914 till 1918. It attempts to clarify the situation of a nation living in the Habsburg monarchy before the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic. It analyzes also the economic situation of Czech lands and the whole Austria-Hungary before the First World War. In the first place, it concentrates on the Czechs and Slovaks and their efforts that led to secession from the Austrian hegemony. Next, the thesis points out whether the nation's independence from monarchy was considered before the outbreak of war or the war itself caused the destruction of programme ideas of the Czech political parties about the formation of an independent state, or whether the new emerging state was economically prepared for the secession from the Austria-Hungary. The major initiators are mentioned such as T. G. Masaryk, K. Kramář, E. Beneš and others, who stood behind the establishment of a new state. Primarily, the emphasis is placed on the events home and abroad in 1914 - 1918, on the formation of the National Council, on the Kramář project of Slavic Empire and the Masaryk's fight for independent state. In the thesis I prop myself upon published sources and recent professional literature.

Alternative methods of estimating potential output and the output Gap: An application to Czech
Krasnovský, Pavol ; Brůna, Karel (advisor) ; Kuncl, Martin (referee)
The text discusses some used methods for estimating potential product and output gaps based on aggregated data for the Czech Republic. Though these methods exhibit some common features, an empirical comparison demonstrates that the various techniques differ substantially. In particular, the correlation of output gaps calculated with different methods is generally low , the methods imply different turning points. To conclude, the methods for estimating potential product a used have only limited information content for macroeconomics.

Based on the results of our study, we concluded that the degree of brachial artery flow endothelium-dependent dilatation is difficult to evaluate using predefined cut-off points as a single-measurement screening test to indicate endothelial dysfunction. On the contrary, the variation of endothelial function after a defined stimulus (dietary, medication) examined at a predefined interval using an identical protocol can help to assess enhanced or reduced efficacy of endothelium-dependent vasodilatation. In the next study, we demonstrated that a high-fat load applied at a single dose does not significantly affect brachial artery vasoreactivity in young, healthy volunteers after four weeks of low- and high-fat diets. In contrast with atherosclerosis, the effect of hypercholestrolemia on adhesive molecule levels has been a source of controversy. We demonstrated that 3-month therapy with fluvastatin does not decrease cICAM-1 levels despite normalization of cholesterol levels. The implication is cholesterol may not induce endothelial activation by the initial upregulation of this adhesive molecule. Endothelial dysfunction can be considered the initial, functionally relevant stage of atherosclerosis, demonstrable still before morphological changes. In patients with advanced obliterative atherosclerosis,...
