Effect of education on social inequalities
Stočková, Eva ; Krištofová, Zuzana (referee) ; Kopecký, Martin (advisor)
In this publication I systematically follow questions of education in relation of social inequalities. After explaining my choice of this subject in the introduction of this publication I defined some fundamental terms (which I work with) mainly by the help of encyclopaedic definitions. A separate chapter is dedicated to the dilemma of educational chances with a brief historical excursion to the field of equal educational chances. The next chapter follows with a more extensive overview of various conceptions and theories of the educational reproductions within societies. Some selected international thematic studies have also own place here, as they have its important position in this field of researches and they simultaneously bring valuable findings. In the context of andragogy I devoted a special attention to the topics of the lifelong learning especially to equal chances in the field of the lifelong learning. Furthermore I present some of the views of social inequalities in adult education and professional education which I extracted mainly from the education policy analysis of OECD. The final chapter is dedicated to the situation in the Czech Republic, the political changes after 1989 of which had opened certain questions relating to educational reproductions. This situation has enabled to a number of...

Morávková, Jitka ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Bednařík, Petr (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis Media Representation of Adultery and Its Participants From the 1970s is to analyze and describe the image of partner infidelity in selected Czech and Czechoslovak television series through the time and sociocultural context. The analyzed material and topic requires first an outline of the basic media theories, with focus on the theory of media construction of reality. Then follows the theoretical concept of partnership and adultery, at first seen through the optics of social context and then through the partnership itself, which helps us to understand the imaging analysis, models and stereotypes in the stories. The third theoretical chapter brings a brief description of the history of the Czechoslovak and Czech series, with an emphasis on the period since the 1970s accompanied by the theory of construction of reality in television series. We analyze three series - Nemocnice na kraji města, Život na zámku and Ordinace v růžové zahradě; our analysis is based on qualitative methods, specifically the naratological and discourse analysis, which helps us in the end to answer the defined research questions, to record the occurrence of certain models or stereotypes in the image of unfaithful characters, plots and other interesting phenomena within the social context of the series.

The entrapment of the Czech nobility by Pragues and Kutná Hora's patriciate in the year 1309 or else "there is no more harsher man than the ennoblement making ribald". (The entry for patriciate history in 13. and 14. century)
Musílek, Martin ; Žemlička, Josef (advisor) ; Dvořáčková, Dana (referee)
The historical research devoted only small focus on the entrapment of the Czech nobility. Generally, mainly the conclusions made by Josef Šusta had been taken into account. Specialists say that we have no chance to find something new in this subject of historical scholarship. Big deposits of silver were found near Kutná Hora during Václav's II rule. The hot symbiosis started up between the monarch and the tops of the patriciate. This friendship was bringing benefits to both of the sites of the symbiosis. The patriciates was able to do businesses and trades very easily, when the monarch stood by their side. In retum for this the patriciates was providing the valuable services to monarch, especially managing the royal chamber or helping in financial crisis. Helping in financial crisis became important during times of expensive and ambitious statesmanship of the last Přemysls. When the last of the Přemysls died, the prominent patriciates were starting to participate in political events that were shaking the whole kingdom. They were taking part in voting congresses, different missions; actually some of Czech pretendents tried to win the patriciates over. In these years the entrapment of the Czech nobility in Sedlec and in Prague also took place. When we evaluate the previous development, we have the question:...

Dwelling and drifting in space. Landscape in the poetry of Ted Hughes and Kenneth White
Potočňáková, Magdaléna ; Procházka, Martin (advisor)
This study was originally motivated by a desire to bring together a personal predilection for both landscape(s) and the study of literature, to merge the affective and the cognitive with the more analytical. An attempt to write a critical study about landscape in poetry, however, is bound to encounter difficulties as it is bound to ask questions. As Chris Fitter suggests in his book Poetry, space, landscape, the subject offers multiple approaches and tends to spread innumerable strands linking often disparate areas. On the other hand, one may ask a subversive question, namely whether nature and landscape poetry is not somewhat anachronistic at the turn of the second millenium. It must have seemed so when Terry Gifford, in 1995, opened his book Green Voices3 with a polemical statement: "Nature poetry is having a bad time". He was referring to the previous decade during which allegedly the 'spirit of post-modernism' had changed the preoccupations of poetry and which was marked by such statements of reviewers and editors of poetry anthologies as: "We seem to have lost out nature poets", "We don't publish much landscape poetry" or "Ted Hughes is a remarkable writer but no longer the presiding spirit of British poetry". 4 The very title of Gifford' s book, however, indicates a new impetus behind contemporary...

Trh s elektřinou v České Republice (teorie a praxe)
Pavlátka, Pavel ; Schwarz, Jiří (advisor) ; Brychta, Pavel (referee)
Liberalization and privatization of the electricity industry is one of the most important processes in the few last years. Even when the electricity market is fully open, substantial barriers to competition often remain. These barriers are refusal of access to the market, the lack of capacity in interconnectors and long-term contracts. The process of liberalization has shown that a third-party access to the network is a critical and important factor in ensuring a real and effective liberalization of the market. The process of liberalization has also supported new ways and forms of energy trading including financial contracts instead of purely physical contracts for the delivery of electricity. It is a question if the benefits of liberalization of the electricity industry compared with a regulated private monopoly or public monopoly were profitable. Someone could argue that the liberalization of electricity tends to bring benefit to monopoly structures and increase prices of electricity in industry. This work tries to present the pros and cons of liberalization in the electricity industry while taking in consideration the best means of making the liberatization as much profitable and useful as possible.

Michna, Patrik ; Pospíšil, Jaroslav (referee) ; Fuciman, Ondřej (advisor)
The assignment of my diploma thesis was to design a polyfunctional building. Function of the building is based on the requirements of the Land Use Plan Brno, cadastral zone Židenice. The aim of the design was to improve the quality of public space in the area by creating parks, urban parterre with services, parking and by bringing missing features to the area. The building is located in the centre of the plot. The main facade is oriented to the main street. Design creates new parking on the ground and in the underground garage. On the first floor are rentable spaces for commerce and services. At 2nd and 3rd floor are open space offices with the possibility of spatial variability solutions. Architectural expression of the building is simple, consisting as a compact mass with parterre subsided, useful in terms of energetical sustainability.
