Breathing Apparatus equipment in the Units of the Fire Rescue Service of the South Bohemia Region
SOKOL, Karel
The Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic is one of the fundamental components of the Integrated Rescue System. Its overall development and modern equipment allows for a very effective way to provide assistance in all types of emergencies. The breathing apparatus equipment is one of the many parts of the common personal protective equipment that allows firefighters to remain within even a stifling environment. The aim of this thesis was to make a full analysis of the numbers and the range of age in use of these kinds of breathing apparatuses and cylinders, which belong to the units of the equipment in the Fire Rescue Service of the South Bohemia Region. Furthermore, I have made a comparison between the two basic types of air breathing apparatuses that are being used, in terms of the protection period, which have been provided to the users (carriers). The participants of this inquiry were members of the FRS of the South Bohemia Region, which include the separation of chemical and technical services into the various local departments. I have received the data from twenty different fire stations in total. In the questionnaire which was given, I collected the data from the respondents, according to their age and added the number of different types of breathing apparatus and cylinders and period or time of use to this study. The data was collected during February and March 2010. Hypothesis 1: the number of pieces of the breathing apparatus equipment in the South Bohemia Fire Rescue units is sufficient; this was confirmed. The result has been compared with the numerical data collected from the indicated positions in the current legislation set to 1.7 times of the number of the members serving in one inning. Hypothesis 2: that these breathing apparatuses meet the requirements of all of the current legislation; this has not been confirmed. The result shows a comparison of the technical parameters of the instruments and technical conditions, as reported by the Interior Ministry decree No. 255/1999 Coll. as amended, regarding the technical conditions kind of fire. The results will be used to establish the financial balance sheet and the planned purchases of the pressurized breathing apparatus equipment and the used variations of the composite cylinders.

Distropine - Distributed System for Anotation of Web Pages
Kaprál, Ondrej ; Zavoral, Filip (advisor) ; Nečaský, Martin (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and implement peer-to-peer version of a service for commenting of internet resources. From a functional point of view it is an implementation of P2P discussion forum. We attempt to achieve the highest possible degree of decentralization while meeting these requirements: usage of distributed hash table to store data content and deployment of user identity concept while protecting this identity against theft. In the analysis we came to realize that in the environment where users do not establish any bindings and content distribution is broadcast in nature there is need for globally trusted authority. For this reason it is deployed PKI with certication authority (CA). Our pursuit of maximum decentralization is reached by multiple measures in the design of the application. We allowed simultaneous operation of multiple CA instances, we have also minimized the power of CA to monitor user activities or to censor the content of the system. User interface of the software is integrated into web browser what helps us to shield user from complexity caused by P2P design.

"Becoming a Facebook User": the mystery of (not) leaving
Dlouhá, Marie ; Hájek, Martin (advisor) ; Balon, Jan (referee)
Recently, facebook has become an important communication and intercation medium and social phenomenon. It attracts attention thanks to its broad audience, and it raises questions of safety and privacy, "addiction", identity and self-presentation. The study Becoming a Facebook User (the title is inspired by Howard Becker's article) is focused primarily on the question of (not) leaving - by using qualitative methods that explore "addiction" to facebook. Using methods of ethnographic interviews and interactionist analysis based on Erving Goffman's dramaturgical approach, broadened by the theory of Joshua Meyrowitz, this work shows that to be a facebook user is not a state but a career. An analysis of the individual stages of usership demonstrates the main reason for "addiction" - the "middle region" - i.e. the places where various audiences meet and there are many options for interacting with a large number of people from diverse environments. This text shows that "middle region" provides some advantages as long as there is effective management of the interactional regions that should prevent overloading, i.e. confusion. The management of regions and the study thereof in terms of a career means investment by a user in time and effort, which together with the advantages that such a management "middle...

Implementation of Collate at the database level for PostgreSQL
Strnad, Radek ; Kopecký, Michal (referee) ; Žemlička, Michal (advisor)
Current version of PostgreSQL supports only one collation per database cluster. This does not meet the requirements of some users developing multi-lingual applications. The goal of the work will be to implement collation at database level and make foundations for further national language supp ort development. User will be able to set collation when creating a database. Particulary commands CREATE DATABASE... COLLATE ... will be implemented using ANSI standards. Work will also implement possibility of creating users's own collation collection commands CREATE COLLATION ... FROM ... USING and DROP COLLATION using ANSI standards.

Vobora, Petr ; Procházková, Eva (advisor) ; Štefko, Martin (referee)
Comparison of employment termination with service termination of the Czech Police members Resume This diploma thesis topic is called "Comparison of employment termination with service tremination of the Czech Police members". Because of problems connected to any labour relationship termination do meet up with many people in the Czech republic, no matter if the problems are on the employee's or the employer's side, in my opinion, this topic is very actual in this time. Searching for the dilema thesis information resources was easier for the part concerning employment and it's termination, but very much more difficult for the service and it's termination part. This diploma thesis consists of three parts. The first part concerns employment termination and problems occuring with this termination. Also I explain it's general essentials, who can possibly be an employer or an employee and what we call dependent working. Further I deal with the employment termination and in detail I explain the ways how could be the employment terminated. Beacuse of an oportunity to compare it with the same institute, which we can find in service termination part, I describe a golden handshake as a duty of an employer in relation with employment termination, as well. The basic laws used for this diploma thesis are the czech Labour...

In contemporary times internet plays without doubts, a key role in our life. It is one of the most effective information channels of modern economy and a powerful tool of citizen society. Great number of new web pages is created daily and the competition is becoming stronger. This Diploma Thesis is dealing with the information architecture of web pages and applications an its significance for projects of Web2.0 In our territory, "information architecture" is relatively new term and therefore, the first part of the thesis endeavor to define it. It attempts to emphasize that the web page is not a pretty picture only but it must contain well-designed communication of the goals of the page creation. For attaining them, it is essential to define precisely the expectation at the very beginning. On the other hand, it is also necessary to have on mind the web users who opens the page for to fulfill their specific needs and with their own expectations. Web page therefore should meet both the goals of the designers and expectations of the users. Further part of the introductory chapter deals with the history of the information architecture having its roots in the sphere of the information design. Beside other topics, there is discussed the work of Ladislav Sutnar, who significantly contributed to the development of this topic. The following chapter deals with the process of the information architecture design proper. It is not a detailed instruction for web page creation, but rather a description of individual steps and factors able to influence substantially the web page presentation success. The last part is devoted to the recently frequently referred phenomenon of Web 2.0. There was attempted to describe its principles and answer the question whether it is only an empty word used as attractive label for promotion of certain projects or really a new direction in the web development. Then there is discussed the influence of Web 2.0 on the information architecture and whether this topic is for its design necessary at all.
